BroochHenry arrived in the corridor, wand at the ready and eyes searching for anything suspicious. There had to be something, why else would a voice sound off in the middle of the ball accompanied by the ghost cat. The ghost that Hana was disturbing, what if he did or knows something? Bloody hell I should have asked him before rushing out... maybe Heather or Miranda could have helped me maybe I shouldn't have left in the first place? Wait no I had to.. no I didn't... yes I did, did I?
Of course you did, look around not everyone left to begin with. You were one of the only ones that did along with a few others maybe this is a good thing. Yeah a good thing that I might die but who cares no big deal, like anyone would notice or care.... maybe I should go back? No stay here... no go... no stay... ugh make up your mind Henry! Just think if you stay you have a better chance of protecting you friends and proving to your dueling captain that you belong on the team. Alright I'll stay hopefully I see them again and don't die, I probably won't.
Henry gave his dueling captain a polite smile and nod as he continue his examination of the corridor which he was hoping won't end too badly. Henry couldn't help but look around and wonder where the rest of the team was, probably at the bawl, Henry was sure Amara was there but even through the two didn't quite get along and more times than normally they insulted each other, he still admit that she was helpful and gave good ideas even through she can be a bit annoying with her comments at times.
Henry looked around and couldn't help but think what if he stayed? What if I stayed? Would I he laughing and having a blast with Miranda? Would Heather and me find something to banter about like usual.... who was that boy anyway? Would I have gone over to Logan or her to me? Maybe I should have stayed? Or maybe it was best I left.... no maybe this was the wrong decision... ugh it couldn't have been or could it? Maybe I should go back... no stay here. But... but how do I know I'm making the right choice?
Henry heard the voice of a female with short hair call out to the crowd, "The ghost had mentioned something. If anyone at all recognized the ghost, please make sure to know his full name, as he said if we needed help, call his full name! Keep that information to good use, also try to look for anything that could help us!"
Henry approached her and smiled as he continued his search Henry spoke to her " a fellow slytherin boy; uh Hana was messing with the cat earlier maybe he could know something? Or maybe not, it sort of looks like a patronus doesn't it?" Henry smiled at her as he continued his search with his wand at the ready. His mind however was busy at work trying to figure out what the riddle could mean and what they might had to stop, Henry then turn to the girl again and spoke " what do think this danger is that we have to prevent? Do you think someone's life is on the line?"
Henry continuing to look around and think about the riddle spoke again " full name? What if it's someone that is recognized or known? Or maybe their full name can be worked out through the riddle or surroundings? Like a code we have to work out?" Henry was thinking it over and was trying different combinations on the mysterious person full name when they spoke again " I'm Henry by the way, maybe it could be someone from another school? That could make sense, sneak into Hogwarts from a different school to cause chaos but the question is why?"

The Fall Ball (The Hunt)
Aida’s prank turned out terribly anticlimactic in the end. In her escape she had lost sight of Alexander and so never got to see if he had cracked a grin. Even the crowd hardly reacted at all. Perhaps the population of Hogwarts was so conditioned to violence and danger that the shrill scream of a death whistle meant little, especially at a Halloween event. Aida wondered how much of the lack of reaction was due to the holiday versus everyone having grown numb to the presence of death.
Having escaped into the hallway Aida found her bag stashed in a dark corner and she made sure no one could see her. Then, taking off the invisibility cloak and stashing it in a bag, Aida hastened back to the ballroom in the hopes that maybe she could still overhear some chatter about her stunt. Scanning the room, Dealla and Ileen seemed preoccupied with other things and Aida still failed to find Alexander. If only she had continued in her training with Valentin Schnell then maybe she would have developed a keener eye. What did not require a keen eye, however, was seeing the spectral rider when it burst into the room exclaiming about peril and some kind of quest.
Now feeling alarmingly bare without the invisibility cloak, Aida suddenly remembered that her mask was still on backwards. Flipping around a demonic face that had been hanging on the back of her head for so long, through the eyes of her mask Aida examined the horse that the rider had appeared on. Aida knew a thing or two about horses, having grown up on a horse ranch. Soon there was another animal to draw her attention, however, as her eyes turned to the phantom-like cat. Aida’s heart was heavy as stone, so just like when she had followed the Ravenclaw prefect into the Forbidden Forest, Aida followed after the cat and tried to observe its behavior. If Anastasia noticed Aida entering the area, she might have noticed that Aida was wearing the same boots as Anastasia had seen shuffling along under an invisibility cloak only moments earlier.

Scarlett exited the ballroom with Lucia, wand clutched firmly in hand. The corridors atmosphere was cooler and didn't buzz with the heat and energy found in the Masquerade. It was rather a relief, to be honest. The room had been getting a bit stuffy and hot, and there was nothing better than going outside and into the cool air of the corridors. Even the mystery with the ghost and the ghost-cat didn't deter Scarlett - she loved adventure.
"I read about that, in a book somewhere," said Scarlett passively. The textbooks all blurred together after a while. "The Headless Hunt, I think."
Scarlett patted Lucia's shoulder as her friend leaned against the wall, looking a tad befuddled. "We'll be fine Lucia. This is fun!"
She nodded as a girl with white-looking hair spoke up about the irony - the group was called the Headless Hunt, and now they were on a, well, hunt. Scarlett glanced as her as she hit her wrist, looking angsty before muttering a few questions.
"You shouldn't hurt yourself like that," Scarlett observed, addressing the white-haired girl. "As for the cat...I think our best bet is to keep searching so we can find this 'first piece' of this riddle."
She carried on looking, her eyes scanning everywhere. Students strayed along the corridors, mostly looking for suspicious things and ghostly cats. Scarlett glanced at Lucia. "Any sign of the cat?"
She saw a classmate and fellow second-year Kara something announce her finding of sweets. Or as she called it - candy. Scarlett hurried towards her, looking at the items. "Possible," admitted Scarlett with a critical eye, looking up at Kara. "It's just like that Muggle fairytale, Hansel and Gretel." Scarlett patted the sweets. "Keep them," she told Kara. "Could be a clue...or I don't know."
She cast her gaze back at the area they were searching, venturing out a bit more.────── ☆ ───────Action Looking for the cat

The Fall Ball (The Hunt)

Jayden’s horned owl costume:
Reducio
The entire thing was coated in brown barred feathers: A knee-length halter dress with a slightly longer, poofier tail; a capelet covering her shoulders; a scarf of "wings" between her arms; her mask, of course; as well as the clip that held her twisted hair bun in place.
The owl feathers were pressed nice and silky, and overall carried its own elegance, made even more impressive by the lengths of Jayden's shoes, sparing no detail to make herself look as owly as possible. A metallic gold design of owl's claws - back talon extending along the length of her five-inch platform heels, with three front talons hooking over her toes (not protruding from the shoe, so they wouldn't snag on anything or stab anyone).

"Oh, am I Captain now? Should I take the lead?" She joked with a chuckle. Of course she knew what the phrase meant, whether or not @Kara Capricorn meant it as an insult or a tease, Jayden was difficult to take offense at anything.
"That ghost was dead serious, if you actually looked at his face, he looked scared out of his deceased mind."
"Or maybe he's an unwitting pawn in it all," Jayden rebuffed, half murmuring to herself. She didn't take her own assumption seriously. @Henry Knight's guess at a patronus made reasonable sense. Seemed like the only thing left to do was follow the cat.
How long was this walk supposed to go on?
Apparently there was enough candy to go around. Jayden thought hers had been a coincidence, not even related to the Hunt at hand, until everyone started pooling theirs together and commenting about it.
"Same," Jayden said, after @Sapphire Riddle, holding out an acid pop of her own that she had picked up on her way out of the Ballroom, partly miffed that someone would neglect to pick up their "trash"; Jayden was merely cleaning up after them, though there was no sense in letting perfectly good candy go to waste. However, the sherbet lemon and toothflossing stringmints she had later stumbled across, down the corridor, raised more suspicion in her mind as she pocketed her findings and continued onward.

The Fall Ball (The Hunt)
It was the fabric-muffled clicking of heels against the floor and rush of cold air that announced the corridor's new addition, dark hair pulled up and out of the way of eyes so sharp. The sound of voices unmasked- puzzling over candy, cats and clues- sounded through the castle sect like the ringing of a bell, echoing off stone wall to stone floor to ceiling and back again. Astrea had no doubt that the castle's acoustics would have still carried the conversation just as clearly if she were half a hallway away and not edging closer to the back of the crowd with a wary attitude- during passing periods she dreaded walking around for this very reason, the mingling sounds of many conversations overlapping into one illogical mess. There was no attempted stealth from some of the gathered, only unfiltered thought and deduction.
Now, the 'Headless Hunt', as much as it aligned with the idea of ghostly horse riding, was a game club, wasn't it? Or, it at least seemed so the last time she had overheard of it. But their announcer had been as fully formed as a spectre could be and in a dark mood that surely didn't align with such a flamboyant concept. Even if they did place the ghost in a specific organisation, that didn't mean that they knew their name. How puzzling.
Perhaps it was not the wisest idea to send Astrea off on a task such as this without waiting for backup. In such a mysterious situation as it was her mere presence would only set people on edge and she worked best with another covering her- though that idea in itself was rare outside of set instructions. As content as she was with staying closed off, it regretfully meant that she had little to no allies to align herself with on a regular basis. She pledged herself to the occasional happening but not many did the same for her- the student body was unpredictable and sometimes irritating and yet so very interesting all the same. They shared a total of 6 brain cells, half of which taken up by the professors and the other half unknown in housing- but regardless of if they were a clown or the circus, her chances of associating further than a single instance were slim to none.
From the corner of her eye, she glimpsed the shine of rich emerald set against silver and black- A brooch pretty and not unlike the one currently pinned securely to the front of her dress at this very moment, a second heart against the right side of her chest that spoke of her allegiance. A twin, on another. Dmitri, fourth year and her captain for the Viridian Vipers. How grateful she was to see the elder, though she hadn't interested with him enough to gauge any sort of acquaintanceship. But regardless of her personal opinions, the appearance of the upperclassman was a welcome reminder of capability- she was anticipating the upcoming duel of team 1 soon with an optimistic viewpoint- the two members were powerful casters and good at what they were doing, er at least she heard, but she had no doubt that they were in good hands. She would not approach but she would keep it in mind- this was a situation unheard of and yet expected, something to be extra careful about.
A name. What was the spectre's name? Such a useful piece of information unknown to them. A distant part of Astrea's memory reminded her unhelpfully of how similar this seemed to the tale of Rumpelstiltskin, the exact wording of the prettily decorated pages of fairytales lost to her but the concept intact. The price paid, aid allowed but with a restriction. Astrea had bad luck in the past when it came to such adventures- spiders, giants, mosps, the sort- but there was a sense of difference this time. This time, they had received a warning. A vague, half-warning- but one regardless. It would have to be enough.

Mentioning @Cassandra Ironwoods @Mars T'ien @Marshal Mozor @Leonard OaksworthNo. It wasn’t true. Nothing was happening. We would all be alright…
Her gaze slowly fell on people crowded over there. They were discussing. Discussing a question that everyone was interested in — what’s going on? But nobody knew the answers, apparently. Everyone was guessing, though Lindsey presumed that none of them had got the answer right. Guessing wasn’t the most important thing now. Investigation was.
“What — what do you think?” she turned to Wyatt. “From my own point of view, I think there’s something we must consider. How do you know that the ghost is an ally? How couldn’t it be a…an enemy?” eagerly she looked at him. She knew that he must can give her an answer. She confided in him.
Somehow, she nearly regretted being here. She could do nothing, and staying with Mars and Cash seemed far better than standing here — Cash was one of the most observant people she knew, and Mars was definitely good at these things. But at least she was with Wyatt, which gave her a little confidence.
Grabbing her beech wand tighter, she gave a small smile to the black eyed boy. “So, if we regard the ghost as an ally, he told us to call his name — his full name, which none of us knows. And from here it seems that we are tricked. What’s his name? Ghosty ghost? The Armored Knight?” she teased. Why, they must have been tricked. The ghost gave them a challenge. Or a threat.
She was delighted to see Scarlett and Lucia over there. They were together with some other people that Lindsey didn’t recognize, though she still wanted to hear what opinions her friends had. “I see two of my good friends,” she started. “And…and I think I would go and hear what they have figured out already. They are here earlier, I believe…you coming?” She gave a confident look to Wyatt, and headed to the red headed and raven headed girls.
“Scarlett? Lucia?” she inquired while approaching them. “Are you guys okay?” this seemed a dumb question, but she just wished to make sure. “Any ideas for that? I mean — the specter?” before they could even answer, she threw her concern out. “How do you know that the ghost is an ally?” She looked back yonder, to see if Wyatt’s coming after. Hopefully he would like Lucia and Scarlett by all means…she wasn’t very sure if Wyatt felt good staying with unacquainted people, but she hoped so.
“Anyway, we need to figure something out. Search, solve the riddle, or simply, attack. That’s my opinion. Actually attack first sounds good. Though I dunno really…” her eyes wandered back. She fancied that she had seen Leonard getting out of the ballroom, and Marshal storming out as well. Where were they? Hopefully they were okay…hopefully everyone was okay.Action: joining the hunt, trying to figure the weird things out

~Backtrack to before she found the candy~
Kara had kept on searching, a determined look in her eyes, but she heard someone come over to her.
"a fellow Slytherin boy; uh Hana was messing with the cat earlier maybe he could know something? Or maybe not, it sort of looks like a patronus doesn't it?" His wand was out, and the boy was giving her a small smile.
"What do think this danger is that we have to prevent? Do you think someone's life is on the line?" He looked back at her, both of them still searching.
"Well, there is a full possibility that we could all be in danger. But, with no clues, we can't really figure out who are what the danger is that the ghost knight was speaking of..." She stared off, still trying to look for anything that could help.
"Full name? What if it's someone that is recognized or known? Or maybe their full name can be worked out through the riddle or surroundings? Like a code we have to work out?"
"That is a logical explanation, good thinking...umm. Sorry, don't know your name." She said, looking at him, somewhat sorry about the inconvenience of not recognizing him.
"I'm Henry by the way, maybe it could be someone from another school? That could make sense, sneak into Hogwarts from a different school to cause chaos but the question is why?" He gave her a playful look, but the boy was clearly lying.
"You're obviously not from another school, as I recognize the name. Henry Knight, correct? Well, you had said something before about Hanako Tone. I'm his childhood friend Kara Capricorn, nice to meet you." Kara stated with a monotone voice.
~Present Time~
"I as well found an acid pop back by the ballroom. It certainly seems like an odd thing to be here, candy. Of course, it could be a red herring, but it's something to take into consideration. Maybe we'll find out more if we find out what the ghost's name is," A white haired girl had chimed.
"I didn't recognize him..." a girl in a light blue floral dress had said "But Ebony - my mother - I think she once mentioned a club of ghosts who rode horses. They had all been beheaded, I think. But I don't remember much more than that. But that ghost still had his head, didn't he?"
"The Headless Hunt is a good guess, but what you had said about the ghost having a head still was also true. Maybe the ghost could be part of a different type of hunt, not just the Headless Hunt. The ghost was a knight as well, and this school is a castle, so maybe he is a knight of this castle from the past." Kara inquired. She ran a hand through her hair, sighing.
Another girl had started to talk, referring to the candy that Kara thought of as clues.
"Possible, it's just like that Muggle fairytale, Hansel and Gretel." The girl patted the sweets. "Keep them," she told Kara "Could be a clue...or I don't know."
Kara nodded her head politely to the girl and then pulled out her wand from her pocket.
"Maybe if someone eats the candy, something might happen, but that's to risky. I think someone should try to cast the charm "Revelio" on the candy, but I don't know the spell myself."

It was in the dust at her feet that Elspeth first saw it--the candy. The color--bright yellow of a sherbet lemon and the teal hues of candy floss--gave it away, save the crunch under her school shoes of an unearthly green acid pop. Disappointment hung over her face as none of these was the purple of the Pygmy Puff she so yearned for.
Still, she took on up from the floor and examined it, and then the other two. The pieces of candy seemed to be in good condition--except the one that had fallen pray to the missteps of her feet. From the clatter around her, she could tell more of the ball-goers had assembled. They were talking now. Loudly. Like they were on some sort of quest.
Elspeth was on her own quest, and nothing would deter her from finding Maggie. Her furry friend's life was her complete and total priority. So, she stepped towards the group only to further this quest--to turn over every stone on the floor in her search.
The voices grew louder and more urgent. Her eyebrow raised as they seemed suspicious of the candy. Elspeth couldn't think why--wasn't this the whole point of today? And yet, she was curious. "Reparifarge," she attempted on the candy in her hand, taking a preventative action just in case. If it had been transfigured from something else, she would want to get rid of it--unless someone had transfigured Maggie in some cruel joke. Elspeth would be very disheartened if that was so.

Wyatt couldn’t help but smile when he heard a familiar voice call to him. “Wyatt! I…I’m coming as well.” Wyatt turned to see Lindsey Springhall catching up to him, she was nervously looking at the ground. “Hello,” he said with a small smile. “Evening,” she’d reply, looking up to reach his eyes. It was so nice to see her again, even if there was a major evil that needed to be fought and if these children were unable to stop it “tragedy cannot be avoided.”
“What — what do you think? From my own point of view, I think there’s something we must consider. How do you know that the ghost is an ally? How couldn’t it be a…an enemy?” Lindsey gave him an expectant look, and Wyatt put into words what he’d been worried about since the ghost broke through that window. “I believe it is an ally, he seemed quite distraught when he came to warn us,” he began, his tone suggesting there may be a ‘but’.
“But,” there it was, “if it is an evil ghost leading us to danger, we’d be in even more trouble than his current warning suggests. It takes a lot of power to break through Hogwarts’ wards, and the way he decided to lead us somewhere, pleading for help, making us feel like the heroes, and allowing us to fall into a false sense of security would mean he’s probably a cruel ghost.” A pause. “Though whatever evil (unless a professor turned on us) has probably already broken through the wards… it doesn’t look good for us either way.”
It seemed his words may have unsettled Lindsey, since Wyatt noticed the girl was holding onto her wand for dear life. Wyatt tried to backtrack a little bit. “I’d like to imagine this ghost is our ally though, for the time being. To be safe we can be skeptical.” Wyatt hoped that was enough to ease her nerves, but he was also quite nervous himself. He knew this would go wrong somehow, but he was still disappointed it did.
She offered a small smile that melted away any nervousness Wyatt had and asked another good question.
“So, if we regard the ghost as an ally, he told us to call his name — his full name, which none of us knows. And from here it seems that we are tricked. What’s his name? Ghosty ghost? The Armored Knight?” Wyatt chuckled. “He’s got to have a name, right? But how will we find out? Who can we even ask? I’m not sure the professors are required to know the name of every ghost that lives in Hogwarts… there’s quite a few.”
“I see two of my good friends and…and I think I would go and hear what they have figured out already. They are here earlier, I believe…you coming?” Wyatt nodded but allowed Lindsey to walk away first and talk to her friends for a moment alone. He was just thinking about everything. How possible was it that his first near-death experience at Hogwarts was only a test run, and this was his last day on Earth?
He didn’t really want to think about that, but the thought couldn’t really escape his head. Was he ready to fight an evil that if undefeated will wreak havoc on Hogwarts and all of it’s students? Certainly not, but Wyatt tried to believe that there was safety in numbers and that he would be fine if he just stayed with the group. It barely helped. Wyatt hoped there were some professors on their way to help the clueless children.
It would be incredibly unfunny if it turned out this was just some planned scavenger hunt. Wyatt finally caught up to Lindsey and her friends. “Anyway, we need to figure something out. Search, solve the riddle, or simply, attack. That’s my opinion. Actually attack first sounds good. Though I dunno really…” Wyatt asked Lindsey and her friends, “Hey… I think we should try and figure out the riddle. If this thing is as dangerous as that ghost suggested it could be, we probably wouldn’t stand a chance in combat.”

Breathing hard, Piper finally made it to the corridor. The other students had left her behind, mainly, and her stupid dress had restricted her movement a bit. The drafty air and cold stone froze her feet. Still, she could move surprisingly well once used to it. On her way out, she noticed a piece of candy on the ground. Toothflossing Stringmint? Ew. That had to be the Muggle equivalent of a toothbrush on Halloween. Shrugging, Piper picked it up and continued on. The cat had come this way...how odd. An Acid Pop sat in the middle of the walkway as well. Where was this candy coming from? A last sherbet lemon waited for her in the doorway. Definitely thinking something was up now, Piper retrieved it.
She entered behind a girl in a silver mask and flowy pink dress. The group was discussing candy when Piper entered. How very odd...they had picked up Acid Pops and Toothflossing Stringmints too? It couldn't have been a coincidence. In the time of Halloween, candy was sure to fall from many students' hands on accident, but this was too odd. The same candy, at the same time?
The Headless Hunt Piper had read about had first popped into her head, but it was quickly shot down by another student by the point that the mysterious figure did in fact have a head. The pink dress girl mentioned attacking. Well, if that was the plan, Piper was out. Riddles yes, combat no. But Piper didn't see it coming to that. Piper was in full agreement with another boy. “Hey… I think we should try and figure out the riddle. If this thing is as dangerous as that ghost suggested it could be, we probably wouldn’t stand a chance in combat.” Yes! Solve the riddle. That would help immensely.
As to the ghost's name, Piper didn't have any clue in the slightest, which kind of stunk in terms of her awesome-fairy-tale scenario. She glanced over at Kara and another boy, who seemed to be theorizing as well. Perhaps the cat was the first piece of the riddle? But then again, that wouldn't make sense. Piper glanced around the room, but there wasn't much to go off of. Suspicion filled her. None of this made sense. It would be better to simply watch and wait, seeing if anybody else found anything of use. She doubted she herself would be extremely helpful, but she could certainly try if or when they got real leads. "Uh. Just so you know, I have a toothflossing stringmint, an acid pop, and a sherbet lemon. I found them in the walkway on the way here...a bit odd you found them too, don't you think?" she said in a small voice, unsure if anyone would hear her.
