Lizzie wasn't sure what she was doing. The stairs were not being nice and she really needed a quiet place like her dorm to study. Curse the Gryffindor tower being on the fifth floor. Now, she was stuck on the second floor. The second floor, in her opinion, was quite boring. It seemed to just be corridors upon corridors with the occasional room. If she remembered correctly, there was a study room somewhere on that floor, but with her navigation skills, there was no way she'd be able to actually find her way over there.

She really should start paying more attention to the paintings that were on each floor and use them as landmarks. That sounded like it would make it easier to find her way around the huge castle. On the other hand, though, it sounded like another one of those things that were easier said than done. That seemed to be her motto that year. "Getting back to my common room is going to be quick" and then she gets lost almost every time she tries to go to the common room by herself. Or, "making friends will be easy" and then she ends up with one really close friend and maybe two acquaintances.

Easier said than done.

Maybe writing it on her hand will help her remember so that she doesn't keep getting her hopes up about something, only for it to turn out the other way, and then she's disappointed. With the way everything was going, she'd like coffee by the time she was a second year. And she hates coffee. Yucky bean liquid.

She abruptly stopped in front of a door, having decided that putting a time limit on her mental rants would probably be a good idea. She could probably rant for hours about whatever she thinks of first. Peeking inside the room, it seemed just like any normal classroom, except empty, obviously. "Perfect place to attempt to study," she muttered to herself, pushing the door open and scooting inside.

She settled her stuff down on a random desk and took a seat. Which subject to do first? Hmm, maybe potions. Potions was much more interesting than charms...
