Is It True? PV Closed

It was a hassle to walk all the way back to the classroom from the Ravenclaw dormitory. Down the spiral staircase, travel all the way down to the second floor, and then navigate through corridors. All for a trunk with just a few books in it. Yeji would remember to never leave the trunk behind again. However walk wasn't necessarily boring, just meticulous; there seemed to be more chatter in the halls than usual. Though most of it was inaudible and Yeji lacked enough fluency in English for some terms to go over her head.

Finally making it to the classroom, Yeji opened the door to see another girl whose hands seemed occupied with items on a bookshelf. "뭥미?""What the heck?" she thought to herself. The girl was rather pretty; she had long black hair that extended even farther down than Yeji's. Also, the girl didn't have anything to represent what house she was in. There were no colors and no insignia. "아~~ 아마 걔는 유령이다."Ah...maybe she is a ghost. Yeji thought to herself.

Yeji scanned the room before stepping in, noticing the trunk in the back of the room. She would then turn to the girl and ask "Stealing?" She had a noticeable Asian accent when asking. Yeji didn't even have the smallest of ideas for what the girl could be looking for; who in the world would steal books? As she asked the girl if she was stealing, Yeji walked over to the back corner of the room and retrieved the trunk she had left behind. She opened it up to make sure her belongings were still intact, which they were, and then she proceeded to walk back to the front of the class where the girl was.

Teiki quickly stepped away as she noticed another girl walk into the room. She immediately stepped back towards the bookshelf, though, catching the one small trinket that had started to fall off of the shelf. A quick inhale, and she watched the girl. The hair was similar, although a little lighter and shorter. The eyes, she noticed, were also large and a dark brown. But, the girl wasn't the professor, so Teiki visibly relaxed.

"I- No. Just-" Her words were spaced out, with no sentences explaining what she was really doing. She watched the girl pick up her trunk from the corner. At least she hadn't looked through that. It probably would've made this situation a lot worse. As the girl walked back towards her, she winced slightly. It was almost certain she would have to explain herself. It wasn't serious, but she still felt quite awkward about the whole thing.

"Well, I, uh, heard this rumor? So, I went to check it out?" She shrugged slightly. She debated asking the girl why she was here, but suspected she already knew the answer. To peacefully pick-up her trunk without having to worry about some random girl potentially stealing her stuff. Not that Teiki would, of course.

"I enjoy observing." She added meekly.

The excuse given was rather suspicious, or at least the girl's mannerisms gave off that vibe; the soft and nervous like the tone were the main reason why. The girl's final comment made Yeji the girl was indeed a ghost, for what else would a ghost do but observe. Yeji was highly curious about what the rumor could be about. In fact, it clicked in her mind that all the people she heard talking on her way to the classroom were talking about the rumor. She wondered if it had something to do with the girl haunting the bookcase or some sort, but then she wondered if a ghost could even interact with physical objects. "아~~ 귀신.""Ah... a poltergeist." she thought.

Yeji placed her trunk down on a nearby desk and turned back to the girl. The day had been rather uneventful for the most part, so she seized the opportunity to have some. It was like a detective case, and the two were going to learn about the rumor. "I was joking about stealing." she chuckled, "I guess you are thinking of rumor about the haunted bookcase?" she tried her best to say it sarcastically; English was a troublesome language for her.

Adjusting her glasses, Yeji smiled and gave a short head bow to the girl. "Yeji Ahn, Ravenclaw First Year."

"Ah, okay." Teiki was glad that it was a joke, although she hadn't been able to tell. At least it meant that the girl wasn't too suspicious or anything like that. Not that she had any reason to be, Teiki quickly thought. She was starting to feel quite guilty, with no real reason as to why.

The other girl's chuckle calmed her down a bit. She felt a bit more of the natural cheeriness come back to her, although she still occasionally glanced at the door. She really wished the professor wouldn't come in anytime soon. She was having fun with her sleuthing, even if it was sort of against the rules. But not really, right? She mentally shrugged, glancing back at the girl.

"I- what? Is that a rumor?" She heard the sarcasm, but was quite confused about it. But any information interested her. It was why she was looking in the bookshelves of this classroom. She wouldn't do it simply to do it, or to annoy the teacher. Neither excuse really made sense.

"Teiki Laurent. Well-" She paused, debating for a second, before adding, "Hufflepuff, First Year." She suspected that the girl wouldn't say anything about this to some professors. In fact, she seemed to be joining in, which surprised her a bit.

Yeji chuckled again to the girl's question. She thought the girl would understand it was also a joke. "바보""Fool." she thought. "It is not a rumor, just another joke. Why would a ghost haunt a book?" she let out another short chuckle. Yeji wasn't entirely sure what to think of the girl, but she did know it would be fun to tease her a bit; in a friendly manner of course. Hopefully, the rumor of which the girl is inspecting will be interesting as well.

Unsurprisingly, the girl had a name that would be troublesome for Yeji to pronounce. She struggled with most western names, but the ones that include an 'L', 'AW', or an 'R' sound were always difficult. Yeji didn't find it all too concerning, the first name was easy enough to pronounce. However, it was strange that Teiki was not wearing a Hufflepuff robe, but Yeji would get to that later. As of now, the rumor seemed more important. If the rumor was strange enough for Teiki to snoop around in a classroom, then she was obviously going to need some help. "I will help you with it is you want to do with the rumor. What is it anyways?"

She shrugged. She supposed there were plenty of reasons to haunt a book. Probably because they protected the book. Then, well, they died, became a ghost, and stayed with the book. But she didn't say anything. It wasn't anything important.

She didn't know how to feel about Yeji. Her tone was playful, teasing, but Teiki felt under qualified. Most of her jokes went over her head. But she supposed she would have to get used to that. After all, she was now in the youngest class that Hogwarts allowed. Older Years were certainly smarter than her.

"Oh, I mean there were a few. Well- growths. First was just that there was a secret passage." It was really basic, although the rumor had grown some. It had grown to include the teacher stealing some of the students' items and hiding them down there. Of course, she suspected that part wasn't true. It didn't even make sense. The teacher had certainly helped her out whenever she had forgotten some small items- like ink. She wasn't even sure about the original rumor. Part of why she was checking the classroom out.

"I just wanted to look around the classroom." She shrugged once more, before starting to walk back towards the bookcase.

A rumor of a secret passage was certainly interesting. One could imagine what sort of treasures, trinkets, mysteries, or even disasters that existed within the passage. Yeji looked down for a moment, scratching her head while in thought; "왜 선생님은 비밀통로를 가지고 있을까?""Why does the teacher have a secret passage?" Yeji, being the imaginative machine she is, immediately theorized to herself that the teacher was secretly a murderer, and he was hiding corpses in the passage. She already labeled this theory as false, but it would be very exciting if it were true. The most reasonable option that Yeji came up with was that the teacher built a secret passage in order to get between places quicker. The only thing unknown about that theory would be exactly where the passage led.

Yeji followed Teiki towards the bookcase, and she wanted to get some more information about the rumor. "What do you think the secret passage is for?"Yeji would also help examine the bookcase, moving trinkets and books around hoping to activate a secret lever of some kind. Thus, common sense hit Yeji's brain like a freight train: "마법사는 기계장치 대신에 마법을 사용한다.""Wizards use magic instead of mechanics." Yeji currently didn't have any spells in her repertoire, but maybe Teiki did. "Do you have spell that can see hidden things?"

Don't worry about the grammar, it was fine. I apologize for the late responses, this first week back to school is going to be pretty rough but I'll make sure I at least put in one response a day."

She was glad someone was helping her in this, even if it might prove itself to be false. And possibly lead to trouble. But she didn't worry about that. They were simply curious, a common human emotion. That tended to lead to consequences. She stopped herself, realizing that she was only thinking negatively.

"Well, it could be used for all sorts. Safety reasons, like evacuations, to hide from threats, other stuff. It could also be used for more personal stuff like a mini-apartment, or secret stashes of whatever. It could also be a room to scheme..." She rambled on a little longer, glancing at the ceiling as she thought of the different ideas. Her eyes, though, seemed quite bright, as though this was something she enjoyed to do. It probably was, considering how much or little thought she was putting into the different ideas.

"Oh, that would be genius! No, I don't. Have just been using observations, and the knowledge I got from some no-maj spy books. They talked about how you could probably tell if an area was particularly clean, or if there were scuff marks. The same could also be true, where it has a lot of fingerprints because it triggers something." She shrugged once again. She wasn't entirely sure if the knowledge in the books was actually useful- or practical- but she enjoyed imagining herself as one of the characters in the book. It made everything feel a little more cheerful, because she could be living her mini-fantasy.

Messing with the bookcase had no results; it seems there would have to be a more thorough inspection of the room. Yeji moved over to the teacher's desk while listening to Teiki's idea of what the secret passage was for. The ideas were more practical than Yeji's except for the last bit. If a teacher was plotting some sort of heinous action, the news of the situation would spread across the wizarding world. Yeji only imagined herself and Teiki becoming famous for being the "genius girls that saved Hogwarts".

Yeji was quite skeptical of how trustworthy information from a spy book could be. Though rare, Yeji managed to come up with quite the counter-argument in her head: "스파이만이 스파이 정보를 알 것이다. 스파이들은 항상 비밀을 지킨다. 왜 스파이가 특정 스파이 정보에 관한 책을 썼을까?"Only a spy knows spy information. Spies always keep secrets. Why would a spy write a book about specific spy information?" Yeji also questioned whether scuff marks and fingerprints would be actually helpful in a situation, so she offered the question to Teiki: "This is a classroom, there are fingerprints and scuff marks everywhere. Is there any other information the book gives?"

Digging through the teacher's desk felt just as pointless as before; there were just random classroom materials inside. Yeji started to grow impatient and let out a large sigh. Yeji plopped down to the floor, and just lay there. She was hoping for an adventure but it seems her imagination let her down once again.
