Some Greedy Teacher! ERRAND SOLO FIN

Lucia Fox was, for the most part, confused when she opened the letter. It had been delivered by a tawny owl that morning, and the nearly-second-year read it over her breakfast, frowning.

So... Some guy wanted her to enter a baking competition? That he'd be judging? But... Who in Merlin's name was Gargott Dunaid?
After several warnings from Ebony about talking to strangers (let alone baking for them), the first thing on Lucia's mind was to figure out this man's identity.
An owl and several rolls of parchment later, a friend informed her that Dunaid was the new Groundskeeper at Hogwarts, which set both Lucia and Ebony's minds at rest, at least.

"It sounds," Ebony Fox observed sceptically, having read the letter at least three times over, "like this new Groundskeeper - what's his name? Dunaid - just wants some kids to bake him pudding. Probably too lazy to do it himself."
"Greedy," Briar remarked, earning a - sadly only half serious - warning look from her mother.
"I think it's clever!" little Willow decided. "I bet he can't bake, but he wants some homemade stuff, so he's getting the students to do it!"
"The groundskeeper in my day couldn't bake, that's for certain!" Ebony laughed.
"When I was young..." Briar murmured.
Willow, meanwhile, was leaning over Lucia to read the letter again. "Ooh, look, he's paying you!"
"Two sickles is hardly a fortune, Wills!" Lucia laughed, then looked thoughtful. "I might as well do it, though. Plus" - her eyes lit up at a sudden, rather appealing, thought - "we can keep some! He doesn't need to know how many I made, does he?!"

After that revelation, Briar and Willow practically pushed their older sister into the kitchen, accompanied by Ebony's laughs.

Lucia had liked baking ever since she was little - firstly with her mother Ebony, then with her sister Briar as well. Finally, she got too old to work with Briar properly (every attempt seemed to result in arguement over some small issue) and began to bake by herself. Her favourite recipe - and an easy one to make, as well - was one to make chocolate cupcakes.

Now, locked in the kitchen with orders not to come out until she was holding something tasty, Lucia stood on a stool to grab a little book - about A5 size - from the top shelf. Upon opening it, Lucia flicked through pages covered in her scribbled handwriting to find one marked 'chocolate cupcakes - EAT WARM!!'
She had first bought the notebook when she was seven, and since then had filled up about half the book with recipes, random scribbles, and birthday cake ideas for her sisters. The chocolate cupcake recipe was one of the older ones, and Lucia frowned at the messy handwriting.
"I'm sure it wasn't that bad..." she muttered, though she knew really she was kidding herself. Even now, her handwriting wasn't extraordinary.

Four ounces of everything, plus two - that was all Lucia Fox needed for a batch of cupcakes, but while she was measuring the ingredients she suddenly stopped, a thought having grown in her head.
What if she made two batches, and kept one for herself, Ebony, Briar and Willow, and sent one to the Keeper of Keys and Grounds?
Without further ado, the Hufflepuff grabbed her scales and tipped out another two ounces of each ingredient.

By this time, the normally raven haired girl was as white as a ghost due to an unfortunate accident with the flour (which, she decided, she would not be mentioning to either the groundskeeper or her family), but the bowl was full and now all that remained was the strangely satisfying sensation of mixing up her soon-to-be chocolate cupcakes.

Lucia tried several ways to hold the bowl - sitting it on the table, curling one arm around it, holding the spoon with both hands - but neither seemed to help her (admittedly quite slow) progress. No, it should never be said that Miss Lucia Fox had any notable upper arm strength. That would simply be a lie.
As it happened, the mixture was fine after what was probably way too many minutes of practically hitting the bowl in frustration, and as Lucia poured it into several tiny tins she couldn't help feeling a sense of relief as well as pride.

At this point, any muggle would simply heat up the oven, put the tins in, set a timer and carry on with their day. But Lucia Fox was not a muggle, oh no - she and her family were fully-functioning witches, and their kitchen didn't even have an oven. Why bother paying for an oven when you can just get your mother to set it on fire?

Which was exactly what Lucia did.

Several Incendios and Extinguios later, and the cakes were done. Lucia grinned as she packed five into a box to send over by owl, and kept the rest in a tin for herself and her sisters.
She was feeling great as the family owl flew away that evening - or, at least, until the nagging for testers started.
