Busy baking

Year One
Feel free to send an owl and say hi!
It was a rather rainy day when a letter arrived. I had been reading new books that I had
bought for my first year at Hogwarts and was in no mood to mess around. Latter after seeing the letter I understood that the Gargott was hungry and wanted food now. Me only having minimal amount of experience baking started to wish I were still friends with this one muggle who knew tons about baking. I never understood how much fun could come from it, but now was the time to learn. I went down to the old kitchen and started to put wood in the wood-stove. By the time that it was warm enough to use to oven it was scorching in the house even with the weather outside. After some look at the different recipes I started to with that I had a muggle stove which would be so much easier to use. Eventually I got over this, and decided to make Maple Walnut Cupcakes. I started to make the cupcakes when I noticed that making the cupcakes finding it rather hard to do. I thought that this was just going to be boring but it was also almost impossible! After a lot of work and frustration I figured out that I made them all wrong and decided to redo them. After a lot of self talk that it was not too bad, redoing the cupcakes over and over again, and getting new ingredients for them I started to develop a pattern and decided that it was not too bad after all. It started to become not too hard and I noticed how I had been rushing too much and so I decided to take my time (Also my parents were no longer funding my unending mess). As I was the only one in the house due to the unbearable heat and since my parents also had to go somewhere it was rather quit and tempting to get back to reading my book or go and rest in the yard since the sun was out which made the oven even worse. As the day went on I started to take a new batch out of the oven I saw how they looked and decided that they looked fine not in the mood to try any more of my terrible cupcakes. Eventually I decided to try and bit of the frosting just to be sure which actually seemed quite smooth and creamy. Other than that I checked the texture and how it stayed together but could not get myself to eat one. As I felt rather stuck O heard a noise outside and noticed it was the old dog from across I was about to shoo the dog away when I decided to let her try it. Having known the dog for awhile it knew to come to my house often and I rather enjoyed the company. As I opened the door I noticed just how hot it was inside feeling a fresh relief and the falling sun. Soon when I called out the dogs name it came rushing towards me, and seemed surprised that I was holding the food. I had expected for her to jump up and try to get it, but instead she just stood there as if she understood that it was my food. Then I saw her lick her lips and so I reached down to offer her the cupcake which she quickly gobbled up. I knew that she was a dog and would probable eat the cupcake no matter what but I still felt A little more confident for the rest of the day that I could complete this with muffins that were not too bad. I got up and opened the door to notice just how hot it was once again. I decided to try again tomorrow to remake the cupcakes and headed off to bed. In the morning I started nice and early when it was cool outside. I started to try to make more cupcakes like before with some struggle but eventually started to get it done. with the new batch of cupcakes I decided to try some and see how they tasted. I noticed that they seemed rather to sweet and not to appetizing, but I could tell this was just because I was not in the mood to eat sweets at the moment. Once I finished the Final batch I noticed how even though most of the cupcakes were no good I got so caught up in the moment that I made more then I would ever need. After noticing this I decided to pick out some for my parents and for the dog across the street. I decided to make the cupcakes nicer for her by adding new ingredients too make them a rather interesting doggy treat. I finally was happy with what I got and took the nicest of the cupcakes and put them in a small box which I wrapped and then handed to the family owl where it was sent of to deliver the Maple Walnut Cupcakes.
