A Date With Snowflakes
DECEMBER 16TH, 2020
Private with Les Amis de’l ABC club members
For non members, it’s not too late to sign up now before the first moderation!Snow was falling outside, and the grounds were covered with snow. Hogwarts had already welcomed several snow falls this year, and everything was white — calm and beautiful, wasn’t it? Inspired by the snow outside and the Hogsmeade school trip organized some days before, the leader of the Les Amis de’l ABC club had came up with a club activity idea — a snowball fight. It seemed fantastic, since the weather outside was just suitable for it.
Members of the club would receive a short note explaining the activity and the rules, and they would be told to meet on Dec.16th, at the outdoor club area. A note would also show up in the small hall, calling non members to attend the club and join the activity.
As soon as a figure showed up at the outdoor club area, they would see the golden brown haired girl waving at them kindly. “Everyone, welcome to our first club activity this year!” they would hear her saying so. She would interact in a friendly tone and a warming smile with everyone, no matter they were acquainted before or not. When everyone had gathered around, she would announce in excitement. “One, two, three — let the game begin!”
And then she would walk up to the circle, picked up a snowball herself, and started the game with a throw attempt. (Note: I will get my own post before next moderation. This is just a starter.)RULEBOOKReducioThere are two main actions: dodge and attack. You may choose one of the two each round.
How dodge will work:
-this means you will be actively dodging any snowballs thrown at you this round
-your evasion will be calculated as 1.5x this round. e.g. 6eva to 9eva
-if you managed to dodge this snowball, and reach a wisdom DC of 18, there will be a 10% chance that it hit someone else.
How attack will work:
-this means you will be attacking someone with snowball this round
-calculate your wisdom. There’s a wisdom DC of 10 of making a snowball. If you failed, the snowball might fall from your hand before you manage to aim it at someone.
-calculate your accuracy. This will be compared with your target’s evasion.
-if hit, calculate your strength. A snowball will cause 50 damage to the unfortunate target, and if you reach a strength DC of 22, you will cause 75 damage per snowball instead.
How winner would be decided:
-if you reached 50 health points, Lindsey would hand you hot cocoa and warm blankets in order to keep you from fainting. This way, you are out.
-the last one remaining on pitch would be the winner. Though a second and a third place would be decided as well.
Note: only a maximum of two snowballs could be thrown per round. If you choose to dodge, then you cannot throw snowballs. No spells are allowed except the healing spells. Please state your stats, action (including who you are aiming), and abilities. If you still have any questions, owl me! Do not DM, thanks! The next moderation would be on December 13th, Sunday. Have fun!Reducio@Cassandra Ironwoods @Ginevra Tsuchiya @Scarlett Aden @Nell Zoldak @Lucille Williams @Meredith Ready @May Moonstar @Taylor Natalie Rogers-Freeman @Autumn Ivy @Katherine Labrouder @Sarah Lightwood @Henry Knight

It was not as if she was not a part of any clubs. She was part of several. Clubs provided something to distract herself with, and they had the potential to even be fun, if not educational. But none of her clubs had met here before.
Yet, here she was, making her way over.
There, she saw, standing by herself, Lindsey Springhall, a fellow Hufflepuff, and the leader of the club. Springhall had been there for the what Autumn liked to call the Beckett-Aden Incident, right? And Autumn had seen her around, seeing as they were in the same house. Wait. Wasn't Springhall a friend of Leonard's? Oh no. You know, maybe she had forgotten about Autumn. Or about anything that might have included an insane Gryffindor, and an uncomfortable Slytherin, and an invite to the Autumn Ball. Yeah.
Finally having had arrived, she realised that she was the first there, with the exception of Springhall. Quietly, she approached.
After a while, some others joined, and Springhall spoke.
Welcome, first club activity, standard stuff.
It was kind of unsettling that she was smiling so warmly, and it made Autumn feel slightly on-edge, but she chose to ignore; she had come here to have fun, and have fun she would.
Aaaand... the game began.
Quickly, Autumn assessed her surroundings, and decided that the best course of action for the first round would be to dodge. And dodge she did.For moderation:

Sarah had been especially excited at the prospect of a snowball fight. She could barely remember the last time she’d had one – maybe with her brother before the accident, or possibly her mother the last winter they’d had together, she wasn’t certain. Either way, she’d been thrilled at the chance of having another one, and with the new club she’d joined.
She’d joined the club slightly on a whim, unsure whether it was the right place for her. She was in a number of clubs, ones based on hobbies and learning, but nothing like this. Still, she was happy she had, and as she wrapped herself up in her warmest winter clothes, she knew she’d made the right choice. Besides, it never hurt to meet a few new people. Sure, the young Slytherin was a sociable creature, talking to anyone she might bump into, but clubs like this seemed like the perfect place to meet someone new. Maybe even a new friend.
“Hat, gloves, scarf, coat,” She slowly muttered to herself, patting down her sides to ensure she had everything. As much as she enjoyed the snow, she wasn’t immune to the cold and knew that if she didn’t wrap up warm, she’d heavily regret it later. “Wish me luck, girlie,” She said, scratching her cat Nova’s head on the spot she knew was her favourite. When she was satisfied that she was suitably dressed, she slipped her wand into her pocket and made her way up from the dungeons and outside to where she knew the club to be meeting.
As she approached the outdoor club area, a place she’d only been to once in her two years of being at Hogwarts, her eyes caught sight of two girls. The first was the girl Sarah recognised to be the one running the club. The girls had never really spoken before except for when Sarah had applied to join her club. The second girl was one Sarah recognised as a Hufflepuff who was in her year, having seen her in a few classes the two houses shared, though she didn’t know her name. the Slytherin smiled at them both and greeted them politely as they waited for the others to join.
When they did, Lindsey welcomed everyone and went over the general rules for the snowball fight they were about to partake in. Sarah supposed it was necessary to tell people not to throw spells at one another given some of the stories she’d heard of other club meetings going wrong. She listened, growing slightly nervous as she realised she was about to allow a group of strangers to throw snowballs at her. She was hesitant to trust on a good day, let alone when involved in a fight – even one which only used snowballs. But she’d promised herself to try and work on that, so she pushed passed and smiled when Lindsey counted down and started the game.
Glancing around quickly, noting how some of them others immediately bent down to grab a pile of snow, Sarah decided she’d start with a dodge, moving to the side with an agility her past of dancing allowed.
