Relaxation
Alecks needed some fresh air after a long day of classes and confusion. As he walked through the corridors and out the door that exits Hogwarts, he couldn't get his mind off the fact that he could finally relax. His feet glided over the perfectly green grass as he walked over to a boulder by the edge of the Black Lake. He sat down beside the boulder, back laying against the smoothest side of the boulder, and closed his eyes. His hands undo the confines that had held his lilac hair back, freeing the strands into the wind. His hand leaned back onto the top of the boulder, just relaxing. Alecks was staying perfectly silent, so he could hear every single little noise that was made on the Hogwarts grounds. The other students, the water rippling on the top of the lake, birds singing in the Forbidden Forest, the whipping sound of the Whomping Willow as a group of first years try to touch the trunk of the tree without getting hit by its branches. He opened his eyes and smiled, he was enjoying the relaxation that frankly, he think he deserves. He looked to the left and watched the group by the Whomping Willow, then, his head went to the right, and he saw a person near him.

Relaxation
Dmitri stared at the breathtaking lake panorama of Hogwarts as he strode down its shore barefooted. After holing himself up inside the library for most of the week, he felt the need to change his routine before self-isolation became a habit. What better way to take a break than enjoy the outdoors, right? The raven haired boy took slow, leisurely steps along the lakeside, feeling the ground with his toes with every stride he took. Across the towers and roofs of the Hogwarts castle, the slowly setting sun cast its orange-hued rays, giving everything a surreal dream-like glow.
It's beautiful, the Slytherin thought as he turned his face towards the sun and took a deep breath.
He really needs to get out here often. Maybe even bring his study sessions outside where it's beautiful. The wind on his face and the sounds of blowing leaves and chirping birds instilled in him a deep kind of relaxation that he really doesn't encounter that much in the confines of the castle.
Along the path, he noticed that another student has found the outdoors relaxing as well--if the way he let his hair fall down his shoulders from its ponytail or the way he leaned back on the boulder he was sitting on, was any indication. Smiling, he silently stepped up a few feet to the side of the boulder the other boy was sitting on, put his arms behind his back, and faced the lake.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the other boy open his and look his way.
"Tired of the castle, as well, I see." Dmitri chuckled and continued looking across the surface of the wide lake.

Alecks jumped as he heard a voice speak.
"Tired of the castle, as well, I see."
Alecks noticed that the voice had come from the body he had saw standing near him earlier. He sat up and re-tied his hair back into a ponytail and started to study the boy in front of him before he answered. Black robes with green or silver accents, black hair in a shaved fringe style (that Alecks actually liked), he was fairly skinny buy the looks of it.
"Not really the castle, just the classes and the hundreds of people in the castle. I guess I just needed to breathe." Alecks smiles at the unknown boy and gestures him to sit down by him. "What's your name, Mystery Boy?"
'He does look like a mystery. Like a temple that hasn't been opened for hundreds of thousands of years. It gives off this awesome vibe'
Alecks moves himself on top of the boulder and pulls his knee into his chest, setting his chin atop his knee.
"Well, go on Mystery Boy. Sit yourself down and introduce yourself. Give me a little background. Give me a story about the great Mystery Boy that is standing in front of me. Tell me something, I'll tell you something too. Work for you?"

"Mystery boy?" Dmitri chuckled as he did what the other boy told him to and sat on the boulder beside him. "There's nothing mysterious about me--what you see is what you get." He shrugged, lying. Dmitri had many aspects of him that he only shows certain people. However, the easiest way to judge if you can trust a person with the secret parts of you is to know them. What better way to make them open up than to make yourself seem like a transparent individual?
"However, I think you are mysterious." The raven-haired boy glanced at the other briefly before once again gazing across the expanse of the Hogwarts Lake. "Maybe that's just because we don't know each other, huh?" He smirked.
"I'm Dmitri. Dmitri Jones. I'm a first year Slytherin, if you weren't already able to tell." He smiled to himself. "Nice to meet you." Somewhere behind them, forest birds sang their late afternoon songs, calling out to each other before finally resting for the night. Already, the sky was darkening into a beautiful orange-purple gradient, and the crickets have already started to chirp.
"How about you? What's your name Mr. More Mysterious?" Dmitri laughed out loud. "That sounds cool--Mr. More Mysterious--MMM." He shook his head and snorted, embarrassed at his dorkiness.

Alecks smiled at the other boys dorkiness when he called him Mr. More Mysterious. The smile soon lead to a chuckle, and the chuckle turned into laughter.
"My name's Alecksander, Alecks for short. Alecks Power. Nice to meet you Dmitri." Alecks spoke once the laughter from him died down. "I'm a first year Ravenclaw." Alecks noticed a slight blush on the other boys face, "Hey, there's no need to be embarrassed. I usually the embarrassing one of any duo. Usually saying something about my sexuality or something even more personal." Alecks' voice faded away as he looked down at the other boy who had sat down below him. He had just noticed how the sun shined and bounced on the other male's hair.
"So what do you like to do with your free time, Dmitri? I usually sing with my friend, Valencia, or just sit out here. I seriously have no life." Alecks' smiles and a giggle slips out as he thinks about how absolutely lame his life actually is. His mind soon slipped to wondering what Dmitri did in his free time, if he was single, what books he likes, what would be the first date; his mind went to many places it shouldn't, because Dmitri was probably straight.

Dmitri didn't miss the way the other boy checked him out quite blatantly from the corner of his eye. He grinned and chuckled, eyes still on the wonderful sight of the lake before him. He shook his head at the other boy's statement. "Pfft. Sexuality's not a thing to be embarrassed of on this day and age. It's 2018!" The raven-haired boy chuckled. "I mean, I'm gay myself, but I never hide nor endorse it, you know." He casually declared his sexuality as a means to help Alecks know that no topic can embarrass him in front of Dmitri.
"Anyway, it's nice to meet you too, Alecks." Dmitri finally looked towards the long-haired boy, admiring his appearance as well. The raven-haired boy waggled his eyebrows. "Do you come here often?" He burst out laughing at the cheesy line. "Oh my god, forget that, I'm being dorky once again."
"Oh, you sing? You really need to let me hear that some time! And my free time, you ask?" He tapped his chin. "Well, I'm just a full on nerd, really. All I ever do is read and do my homework." He laughed out loud and shook his head ruefully. "I mean, I do go out to take walks like these frequently, I just don't really do full-on socializing with others--especially in crowds. I tend to be snappish and rude when overwhelmed." Dmitri shrugged and bumped shoulders with the other boy. "Lucky you, mister, you caught me on a good day." The raven-haired boy giggled and resumed his admiration of the Hogwarts scenery.

Alecks just sat there, stunned. "W-Wait! Y-You're gay?! Like, seriously? Nah, all the good ones are straight," Alecks shut up as soon as he realized that he had just admitted his feelings for Dmitri. Alecks' mind went to all the times where he had watched the other boy have fun with the friends he had, to the times where he was laughing and joking, every time, Alecks had wished he had been there, being the one to make him laugh or smile. He felt a frown cover his face and his bright blue eyes start to water. 'You are tougher than that, come on! Remember that a-hole Jr, you got over him! You got this man,' the self pep talk didn't help Alecks' mood.
But once Alecks heard the cheesy pick up line, he started to smile again. He started laughing as Dmitri spoke about his dorkiness. Within minutes Alecks was trying to secretly move closer to Dmitri, feeling safe around him, which if he was being honest with himself, doesn't happen often anymore. Alecks had zoned out a bit, but once he came to, he heard the raven-haired boy say that he wanted Alecks to sing for him one time. "Maybe you could help me with homework at sometime, I'm actually really confused with most of my classes right now," A giggle left Alecks' lips after he spoke, thinking back to a book he recently read, and well, it ended very well for the couple. Dmitri then bumped shoulders with Alecks and told him that he had found him on a good day, and the blush on his cheeks erupted like magma from a volcano. Red on his cheeks, ears, and neck all from that one little touch and the small little giggled that followed. "I-I could always sing for you now, if you would like. I usually sing Sugar, We're Goin' Down by Fall Out Boy or Perfect by Ed Sheeran when I sing for someone for the first time, d-do you have a preference?"

Dmitri snorted at the other boy's statement. "Good? Pfft. There's absolutely nothing good about me, mister." He winked and laughed out loud. "Anyway, yeah, I'm gay. I wasn't really sure at first--until I saw our handsome Charms professor--then I knew for sure." The Slytherin burst out laughing. "I've got an absolute Lockhart-syndrome on a handsome man sixteen years older than us--if that doesn't make me gay, I don't know what will!" The raven-haired boy shook his head, smiling, laughs dissolving into the occasional chuckle.
"So... Yeah. Are you?" He glanced at Alecks. "Gay, I mean."
"And also, don't try to deny you don't find Professor Blackburn hot as well. I'll personally wrestle you into the lake if you did." Dmitri sighed deeply and shook his head once more. "If only he wasn't too... old and unattainable." The raven-haired boy laughed.
"On a serious note, yeah, I'd love to hear you sing! I prefer Fallout Boy, if you don't mind."
Dmitri Jones leaned further onto the rock, almost half-laying on it as he admired the slowly darkening sky and the twilight's reflection on the lake's still water.
It has been such a beautiful day--especially because he found an unexpected surprise in the form of a friend.

"EW!" Alecks yelled as he heard Dmitri talk about Professor Blackburn all lovey-dovey and crap, "Professor Mellowrose is so much better! Or even Anderson. Mellowrose's flowing hair and his voice is OH MY GOD~" Alecks made a gesture to him dying and was brought back to life by laughing to hard.
"Y-Yeah, I'm gayer than a rainbow," Alecks finally answered Dmitri's question, and going for a long shot, totally expecting rejection, he spoke some more, "Since you can't have Blackburn, and I can't have Mellowrose, we could...oh you know," blush warmed up Alecks face as he spoke, "try to like each other that way?" Alecks frowned at how utterly stupid he sounded, and decided that it would be better just to state what he was obviously trying to ask, "Will you go on a date with me?"
to cover his embarrassment, he quickly started singing Dmitri's choice of song, looking down at the ground and refusing to look up.
"Am I more than you bargained for yet?
I've been dying to tell you anything you want to hear
'Cause that's just who I am this week
Lie in the grass, next to the mausoleum
I'm just a notch in your bedpost but you're just a line in a song
Drop a heart, break a name
We're always sleeping in and sleeping for the wrong team
We're going down, down in an earlier round
And sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded God complex, cock it and pull it
We're going down, down in an earlier round
And sugar, we're going down swinging
I'll be your number one with a bullet

Dmitri burst out laughing as the other boy clocked him for his little puppy crush on the Deputy Headmaster. "Stoooop. He isn't that bad. On the contrary, he is really really good... at what he does, that is."
"Pfft, I don't think anything--or anyone, for that matter--can be gayer than a rainbow, Alecks." The Slytherin shook his head and chuckled. In front of the two, the sunset slowly dimmed into the beginnings of twilight, the day birds settling in for the night and the crickets and owls dominating the otherwise silent early evening.
The raven-haired boy frowned a little bit as the other boy slowly dissolved into stutters and hesitant 'confessions'. He would have replied had Alecks not start singing. Deciding to enjoy the song first, the Slytherin boy laid his back on the rock and put his arms behind his head--closing his eyes to listen intently to the lilting voice.
As the song slowly dissipated into its end, Dmitri cleared his throat. "Uh. About your earlier... offer. I'm really sorry to say this, Alecks, but, aren't we too young for dating? I mean, aren't we at a stage in our lives where school and family and friends and fun are the things that should be running through our minds?" He cleared his throat once more, having difficulties expressing what he wanted to. "I think what I want to say is that, as eleven year-olds, I don't think it's an appropriate time to think about... romantic relationships and eventual talks of commitment when sometimes we can't even commit to finishing our homework!" He laughed a little bit. "However, I'd really like for us to stay friends after this... this event, should I say."
Dmitri laughed bitterly and covered his eyes with one arm. "I thought this evening was for relaxation. Oh god, I've stressed myself out once more. Tsk. Why do I keep doing this to myself?"
