"Okay, so, Ribbit. All you have to do is make a 'ribbit' sound. That's it. It's literally your name, you can do it." She assured. Her red hair surrounded her face like curtains as she bent her head to look at her toad. "I mean, I know that you don't have to sing in frog choir since I'm not a singer. But if you ever want to hang with those frogs and toads, you might want to know how to. They sing." She knew how cool it was for toads to sing, she just doubted hers would play along. She had brought his little 'tank' with her, since she was planning on being outside for some time, and she didn't want him hopping away.

"Fine... you don't have to sing. Do you want to go back in your tank? Yeah? Alrighty then." She took the lid off and lowered her hand. RIbbit hopped off into the tank. She placed the top on carefully. Then she lifted up the handle from the top and picked it up.

Well, now she was bored. She set the tank on the ground carefully. She stepped back and held her hands up. She did a cartwheel. This was a game she played alot. She pretended ribbit was an audience while she did cartwheels and handstands and backbends.

"thank you, thank you!" She said, bowing. She looked up and saw a girl sitting. "Oh! A new friend! Yay!" She grabbed the handle and carried the tank over to the girl.

"Hi! I'm Juniper Kelly. You can call me Juni, or June like the month. Or JuJu, or Jelly, or Jellybean! My friends in Ireland call me that since my last name is Kelly. So yeah! It's also because I love jellybeans, but I like chocolate frogs more. Speaking of frogs, this is Ribbit Downey Jr! He's my toad. Anyways, I was super bored. Did you see me over there? I was doing cartwheels and stuff. There was no one around. Anyways, whats your name? Do you wanna play something? We can play tag!" She ranted.

For once the sun was out, and the weather seemed relatively pleasurable, unlike the class she was attending at this very moment. Jean was staring out the window, watching as the trees danced to the cool breeze that was probably ruffling through their bittersweet leaves, her head held her left hand, the other holding her quill. Her gaze drifted towards her notebook, where she had messily scribbled a few words, still acclimating to this ludicrous feather she was supposed to use as a pen. Why did wizards insist on using medieval items ?
She felt anger rise and pressure on her chest. The lesson was awfully monotonous and Jean was quite impatient to leave and wonder off into the grounds neighbouring the lake.

After what felt like centuries, class was dismissed. Jean hopped onto her feet, slung her bag onto her shoulder and rushed out into the rambunctious corridor. Drowned in this sea of students, she took several deep breaths, feeling increasingly exasperated and irritated, everything today seemed to be an annoyance to her. She made her way towards the entrance hall, her bag bouncing up and down with each step she took, her jaw clenched and eyebrows furrowed.

Finally, some peace and quiet. Silence took over and the only sound she could her were the murmur of the wind among the leaves, the quiet conversations in the distance and the occasional flight of birds. She relaxed her jaw, closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, enjoy the moment as long as she could. Opening them back up, her gaze darted from tree to cloud, cloud to bird. By far, this was the greatest aspect of this school to her. She made her way towards the trees, the sound of her footsteps muffled by the mossy ground, both hands holding tightly onto her bag. Looking around, she couldn’t notice any students, which brought great joy to her.

She plopped her bag on the ground and turned around, watching the scenery once more, catching a glimpse of something in movement. Blinking a few times, she squinted her eyes only to see a young girl doing cartwheels. Jean sighed as she rolled her eyes, watching the girl… talking to herself ? Shaking her head, she sat down, only to see the girl interrupt her marvellous show and walk up to her. No. No, this was not happening. Absolutely not, she was not in the mood for that at all. All the anger that had faded just moments ago resurfaced all of a sudden, pressing on her chest as she cracked her fingers and clenched her jaw once more.

Jean stared at the girl, from head to toes. Oh god, she seemed way to lively, the type of girl to talk too mu-'Hi! I'm Juniper Kelly. You can call me Juni, or June like the month. Or JuJu, or Jelly, or Jellybean! My friends in Ireland call me that since my last name is Kelly. So yeah! It's also because I love jellybeans, but I like chocolate frogs more. Do you wanna play something? We can play tag!'

Jeans eyes were wide open, blinking a few times, not quite believing what was happening. The girl was small, no, she was tiny and carried a toad, or a frog, whatever spawn of satan it was. An expression of disgust took over as she fought the urge to punch the girl in the face before smirking. She stared at the girl for a few seconds. For god’s sake, everything about Juniper made Jean’s stomach turn inside out with hatred.

'Your sentences should match your height. Short.' Jean said, looking down on the girl.

The girl hadn't yet tried to shut Juni up, and she wasn't expecting her too. She didn't understand that not everyone wanted to be friends. She kept up her rant in front of the poor girl. "Are you fast? I kind of am, but I don't run like to get fit or anything! My short legs can't handle that kind of torture, anyway. But if we played tag, it would be easier for you to be it first. But then again, I could be faster! Anyways, we don't have to play tag if you don't want." She stopped to take a breath.

The girl before was unfortunate, for today would take a turn of events. Juniper would bring bad luck to her. And poor Juni didn't realize what would happen either. She kept talking, making the girl before her more annoyed by the second. Juni was a serious extrovert, and sometimes a bit too extroverted. Okay, WAY too much.

The girl seemed to glare at Juniper, but the gesture flew over Juniper's short head. No, she wouldn't be able to read the attitude of the area. Reading social cues was not a talent of hers, nor would it ever be.

"Oh! I'm a first year Ravenclaw, what house are you in? I don't think I've ever seen you in the common room, so you might not be a Ravenclaw." She hadn't talked to anyone for an hour and a half. She's built up energy during that time of being alone, and now it was overflowing. She was letting her energy rush out.

"That's too bad, the ravenclaw common room is cool and cozy! It hasb-"

"
'Your sentences should match your height. Short.'"
Juniper was rudely cut off. She glared. "Wait, WHAT? That's RUDE! " It wasn't her fault she was short. She glared at the girl, looking for something mean to say about her. "You really shouldn't be judging me! Look at your face. Is it always like that? Maybe that's why your bad with conversation. No one WANTS to APPROACH you." She crossed her arms.

The girl seemed quite startled, probably not expecting what she had just said. Jean look down at the girl, an arrogant look on her face as she grinned. Shutting the girl up from her never ending rant felt wickedly joyful. Sure, that was a rude thing to say, but she’d rather eat a whole onion raw than spend another minute listening to what she had to say. Everything about the girl seemed bothersome to Jean : her voice, her way of speaking, her outrageous enthusiasm, her excessively long monologs, her mannerism. Everything.

‘You shouldn’t be judging me! Look at your face. Is it always like that? Maybe that’s why you’re bad with conversation. No one WANTS to APPROACH you.’ The girl added, crossing her arms to express her displeasure.

As the girl talked, Jean stared at her blankly, wanting to be anywhere else at this very moment. There had to be an exception from all the friendly and most importantly, uninterested students that roamed the school corridors. What would be a tranquil afternoon turned into quite an irritating one. Could this get any worse? Why couldn’t the girl go back to doing imaginary shows for her hideous frog.

Jean sighed deeply, the grin still stuck to her face. ‘Well isn’t that just convenient. Haven’t you thought that maybe I didn’t want to be approached? Not to be insulting, but I hoped to keep people like you as far away as possible.’ She said, a look of disgust on her face. ‘And I think my face is just fine. On the other hand, maybe you and your frog should try and cover yours up, that would perhaps help with making new friends, darling.’ She added, rolling her eyes.

Looking at the girl from head to toes one last time, she walked past her accidentally brushing brutally past the girl, scoffing. Maybe going back to her common room this early wound’t have been such a bad idea after all.

Juniper's words didn't seem to sting the girl, or the girl was hiding it very well. In fact, the girl stared on with a neutral face. If anything, this made Juniper want to slap her even more. No one likes a girl like this, someone who just stares blankly and thinks she can be rude. Well, no one liked anyone that was rude, period. So this girl made Juniper annoyed. Trying to look tough, she crossed her arms as she listened to the girl's remark.

Oh, how Juniper disliked this girl. You know when you meet someone, and you either like them right away or just hate them? Juniper hated this girl, and she barely knew a thing about her. Sometimes you meet people who just give off horrible vibes, it happens. "Well if you don't WANT to be approached go hide in a cave you evil witch!" In the muggle world, this would of been a good insult. But here, it wasn't, because this girl WAS a witch. JUNIPER was a witch.

Now Juniper looked at the smile on the girl. She thought this was funny, didn't she? "You think this is funny?" She asked angrily. Really, she wanted to know. She could show this girl 'funny'. Juniper didn't know if "darling' was meant to be an insult, but she didn't like it. No, not one bit. "Don't call me DARLING!" However, she knew "ugly" was an insult. And calling her frog an insult was WAY over the line.

Juniper winced as the girl brutally shoved past her."First off, leave my frog out of this! And second off, you think we're ugly?" She reached to yank the girl's hair. "Fine, I'll show ugly- darling" She attempted to pull the girl back towards her and down on the ground. Her frog watched from his area, eyes wide at what his tiny owner was doing. She crouched down and reached to slap the girl. "Was that ugly enough? Stand up! Come on, Stand up!" She yelled at the girl, taunting her. "Come on girl, get up! Get up! You're going to let the tiny girl win that easily?"
