Safe Place
It was early Saturday morning. The young Ravenclaw had her hair in two French braids. The sun glittered on the many ear piercings that adorned both ears and the sapphire stud on the left side of her nose. A black t-shirt hugged her torso, a grey pair of athletic pants showed the subtle definition of muscles, and the all ways present black combat boots covered her feet. Sitting on the grass the female started to stretch to loosen up her muscles and to keep the risk of injury down.
After ten minutes of stretching and doing warm ups like squats, pushups, frog jumps, and lunges she ran a few laps around the grounds. After running for about fifteen minutes the brunette found a relatively flat place on the grounds and got into a fighting stance. Taking a breath in before breathing while she did a back leg roundhouse. Kicking at an imaginary target. Repeating the kick thirty times until she switched sides and did thirty more. The control the girl showed held all the years of training. It was fast, clear, precise, and clean. Finishing the second thirty she switched legs and did thirty of front leg round house kicks.
Doing various kicks she switched to punches and combos. Sometimes the female wished she had a partner so she could practice self defense techniques. It was very difficult to do it by herself so she just went through the movements as best as she could. When the brunette did martial arts it was her safe place. She could focus on the movements that were drilled into her mind and could get lost in the complicated movements. Letting her mind have a break from keeping up walls to protect herself, she could just be free and be herself for the time being.

Opeila had found that even in magical school, where their lessons mainly consisted of magic- which was super exciting, right?- the weeks could drag themselves out. It was school after all, they had to complete assignments and hand them in for the classes and sometimes those were not so much fun.
... Sometimes though, Opeila felt like the time at Hogwarts was just flying by. This week was certainly of that nature and so the little girl woke up on a saturday morning, confused for a moment. Had it not been monday just a short time ago?
At least she managed to sleep a decent amount again, so Opeila was in a comparably good mood. After a small breakfast in the Great Hall she went back to her dorm to get her trainers and then outside. Opeila had gone out for runs regularly for a few months now. In a place as dangerous as Hogwarts, staying fit could only be good for her, right? It would for sure help her to be better at running away from things in the future- staying to fight had proven to be contra-productive so far.
Opeila liked the current weather. She had enjoyed winter and snow a lot- and it was still cold and there was still some snow on the ground- but it was great to have some sun. The Slytherin felt like the temperature could change soon. She was looking forward to summer! With a bit of a nostalgic smile, she looked at a place near the castle. Last year, Jack Burnett had grown a metal tin big enough to throw a pool party with it. That had been a while ago...
The mornings at Hogwarts were mostly the same, only sometimes the little girl found something unusual. Like this morning. An older girl used the quiet morning hours to train her fighting techniques, it seemed. Opeila decided to use that as an excuse to take a break- Selim had been training her to fight for a while now and it seemed like it was not Opeila's strength, but watching others, who were good at it, was still fascinating.
Not spending much of a thought on it, Opeila walked down towards the girl, carefully keeping a few meters distance. "Hi!", she greeted the girl, her cheeks red from the cold wind and slightly out of breath. "Er, sorry to disturb you, but may I ask where you learned that?" The second year raised her hand to shield her eyes from the sun. "I am Opeila Winters."
