Opeila's mind didn't seem to be granted a break. Her mental health would not get a chance to recover. Whenever there was something to reach out to, that offered a possibility to catch her, something happened, challenging her again. As nice as visiting her cousin over the holidays was, the way back on the train had been a nightmare. Cowboys breaking in. Vladimir getting beaten down in front of her, for trying to defend her. That was still something Opeila could not wrap her head around at all.

More and more she enjoyed her daily jogs over the ground. The air seemed to blow her brain free of her circling thoughts, the colder it was, the more effective.
It was Sunday, so what better time to get outside and have a run on the grounds? The Slytherin had already finished her homework on Friday and Saturday, so there was plenty of free time this afternoon. Like most of the time, Opeila's little furry companion had decided to follow his master outside, running at her side and maybe chase a bird occasionally.

It was after maybe twenty minutes, that Opeila noticed that he wasn't at her side anymore. "Loras?" The second year looked around, trying to breathe more slowly. She spun around on the spot but her cat was nowhere to be seen. "Loras!" Not that she was worried something happened to him, but there had been a time, where it had just been an absolute pain to try and find him before curfew so he'd be in the dorm with her over night. Opeila just didn't like it when he spent the night outside. There were still some hours, but... well.

Loras wasn't too far. He had in fact been chasing a bird, up a tree, where it of course flew away, out of his paw's reach. Too bad. Now, when climbing up the tree, there hadn't been a problem, but it seemed that getting back down was one. A few times he walked up and down the branch he stood on and made unsure noises. The yellow eyes directed at the ground, where he longed to be again, his tail moving from one side to the other. Meow!

=== Paige yawned. What a lousy day. Seriously. She walked on the grounds of Hogwarts, swinging her arms as she walked. One foot in front of the other. She walked by many students who were talking. She eyed them just a bit, but they smiled at her so she smiled back.

"Loras?"

Who the hell is Loras? Paige shrugged. She squinted, to see the back of a girl calling out for something. Paigelooked around and saw a cat in her favorite tree. Paige jogged over. She tapped the girl. "Are you looking for your cat? Over here!" She looked up and saw a cat in the tree. Paige was great at climbing but she wasn't a fan of cats. "Need some help?"

Reluctantly she swung up the first branch, and only had to climb a bit higher. She hesitated. "your cat is nice, right? I'm not really a huge fan of cats... uh..." Paige bit her lip. Why? Why her? She could climb trees, yeah. But right now she wished she hadn't shown up. That way she wouldn't feel guilty for not helping. But she wanted to help.

She closed her eyes and to her horror, realised they were near the birds nest that still had babies. "There's a birds nest up here! With babies!" Shit.

"The Jobberknoll never made any noise until the moment before it dies. It would then release a long scream, which consisted of every sound it ever heard backwards. It lived in northern Europe and North America and fed mainly on small insects [...]"

Jacob was sitting with his legs crossed, his back leaning against the solid wood of an oak; he was peacefully reading "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" until his zen moment was interrupted by a couple of girly voices. He overheard the conversation and decided he could be of help, so that he could quickly go back to reading in peace.

He stood up, turned around and walked up to the source of the noise pollution: said source turned out to be two girls around his age. He recongnised one of them, Paige: her being a Ravenclaw firstie, they took the same classes everyday, but they never really got a chance to talk. The other girl was an unfamiliar figure, eyes as green as the snake sewn on her winter cloak.

As silly as it sounds, he was nervous to talk to girls, and the Slyherin was still a mystery: hopefully she'd turn out to be nice...

"Hello. Do you need a hand?" He asked. "I can't cast any spell but I can try and climb the tree... I don't see how I'd manage to get back down with the cat though. Otherwise I can just offer emotional support" Jacob said sarcastically, with a big smile on his face.

Opeila turned around when a girl approached her, asking her if she was looking for her cat. The Slytherin couldn't say that she recognized the girl, they quite possibly passed each other in the corridors sometimes, but she was definitely not in Opeila's year. "Yes, I do actually, have you seen him?" It seemed like the girl had already found the little runaway up in a tree, looking down to them.

"Yes, that's him, thank you. God and I thought he learned not to run away by now..." Opeila was not the greatest climber and apparently her cat neither. Up he managed, but instead of climbing back down, he walked up and down the branch. The girl asked her if her cat was nice. "Uh... Well, he can be if he wants to, I guess. He distrusts strangers." At least he had not attacked anyone since Zyk last summer camp.

A boy joined them as well, offering to try and climb the tree or emotional support instead. "I would cast a levitation spell, but that one doesn't work on living beings. Never try to cast it on a being. Professor Fresnel surely will cover that in her class." That lecture Opeila had gotten from Professor Vernatis, who had only recently left Hogwarts. A great loss.
"Hm. I think, if-" Opeila paused when the girl started to panic about a birds nest with babies.

Opeila looked up the tree. There was indeed a nest up there, but the Slytherin shook her head. "Calm down, it's empty. It's January, it's snowing, birds don't have babies in winter, they would freeze to death.", she told her. She turned to the boy again. "Could you climb up there and just hand him down to me? I'm a terrible climber.", she asked him.
