Soaked to the Bone, Part 1 PV Aurelia Finished

It was a particularly fine day - Saturday to be exact. The sun was beating down on the students of Hogwarts and the sky flared a brilliant azure blue. Thick, white clouds drifted across the sky and rolling mountains towered in the distance.

That morning, Scarlett had woken up at the crack of dawn, intending for today to be a day full of adventuring and fun. She had expected to bound out of bed eagerly and throw on her clothes as sunrise broke. Instead, she awoke once a beam of sunlight danced in her eyes, groggily fumbling around and taking the pace of a tortoise to change. In fact, the tortoise would probably be quicker than her.

Breakfast came next, which she was fully awake by to shovel toast in her mouth. Then, Scarlett spent a while studying, before the promise of fun hit her hard. She had ate a brief lunch and explored the castle, attended an end-of-year party (only for an hour) and tried to find the infamous Room of Requirement, which she didn't. After, Scarlett collected a few snacks from the house elves down in the kitchens and headed for the lake to relax, attempting to avoid the worst of the heat with her crazy reasoning.

Now she was down at the lake - large, freshwater. Scarlett had heard numerous tales of a certain Quidditch player Viktor Krum who had swam in this lake in swimming trunks. She dipped a toe in the water, gathering her snacks in the crook of her elbow in the other. It was freezing!

Scarlett scrambled back at the touch of the water, and her snacks scattered everywhere because of it. She cursed under her breath and stood up, intending to pick them up.

Aurelia had spent her day outside. She visited the Quidditch Pitch, had a walk around the lake, got annoyed at a ghost when she was trying to do her homework, and pranked other first-years with Shock-o-chocs her older brother bought for her at Zonkos. It was quite a weird day for her, she didn't like to spend her day alone. Usually, she was always surrounded by her friends and going on small adventures, but today, for some reason, she didn't feel like it. Maybe it was the heat that was getting to her or the fact that exams had just passed and she wanted to take a break. After all, it was almost summer holidays and she had to enjoy every second left at Hogwarts.

She decided to head for the lake, it was usually very quiet there and that was exactly what she needed right now. She brought her small red sketchbook and had a pencil tucked behind her ear. She didn't like telling anyone that she could draw, or even enjoyed doing so. She thought other people might make fun of her for it. Carefully she tipped out the oak doors and headed down the stairs leading to the lake. Quietly, she sat leaned against a tree looking out over the water that was glistening like jewels from the sunlight.

Not much time passed before Aurelia spotted a Gryffindor girl she had seen before at the lake. Her fiery red hair stood out immediately from the greens of the grass. Auri watched the girl for a few minutes and chuckled at her clumsiness. Sighing, she stood up and walked over. The girl obviously needed help, and maybe it was better if Aurelia intervened before anything other than just the snacks got hurt. Auri walked up and gestured towards the snacks spread across the ground: "Hey, do you need a hand?"

She had Chocolate Frogs! And Pumpkin Pastries! And now they were scattered on the grass. Scarlett felt no remorse for the pack of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans though - she opened each one with optimism and ended the taste session in horror with her abysmal luck. Seriously, they didn't need to give her something like Bogeys or Ear Wax every single time, for Merlin's sake.

As she was reaching to pick things up, another girl approached her. She looked her age with hair dyed blue at the ends (which was awesome - Scarlett had always wanted to dye her hair but red didn't go well with anything) and bright blue eyes with a hint of dreaminess around them. The girl was sporting a Gryffindor t-shirt - a fellow lion then - and Muggle jeans with a sketchpad in one hand and a pencil tucked behind her ear.

"Hey, do you need a hand?" asked the girl. She gestured to Scarlett's food, strewn amongst the grass. Scarlett was relieved for the existence of packaging.

"Uh, sure," replied Scarlett smiling at the girl and reaching to grab a stray Chocolate Frog. "Want one? I've got loads, and if that card is Merlin, I won't be surprised."

Scarlett had gotten so many Merlin cards that she'd stashed them to trade with others. It seemed her luck with sweet treats wasn't the best.

Aurelia smiled back at the girl and went to pick up some of the chocolate frogs. Happily accepting the girls offer, she opened the wrapper and checked which card she got. After that was done, she popped the chocolate in her mouth and let it slowly melt before swallowing. Oh, how good they were, Aurelia had almost forgotten the taste, she hadn't tasted the soft milk chocolaty taste any since Christmas.

Auri looked at the girl more carefully now. The red hair stood out so well from everything else, so much so that it was almost impossible to overlook. Grinning, Aurelia decided to introduce herself. "So I'm Aurelia Roberts, but Auri is fine too. I'm in Gryffindor, as you can see, and uh I'm assuming you're a first-year too?" Her eyes darted back and forth from the girl to the sweets on the floor and she continued to pick up more.

After they had picked up everything Aurelia pointed out to the lake. "Isn't it beautiful? I spending alone-time here, it's very peaceful" She stared out at the seemingly black water, whose ripples had something mysterious about them, maybe even like there was something there, but till now she hadn't seen the giant squid that was allegedly lived in these waters. "So why were you here?"

The girl - Aurelia, accepted Scarlett's offer for the Chocolate Frogs. She opened it, checked the card and popper it in her mouth, looking like she enjoyed it. Scarlett did love chocolate, and really, the only downside of Chocolate Frogs was the fact that they felt...alive. Seriously, it was a bit unsettling to have a squirming animal Chocolate Frog in your mouth, though the taste made up for it.

"So I'm Aurelia Roberts, but Auri is fine too. I'm in Gryffindor, as you can see, and uh I'm assuming you're a first-year too?" said the girl - Aurelia Roberts - Aurelia - Auri. The nickname was helpful, and could help her differ Aurelia Roberts from Aurelia Notrésvace (that surname was way too hard to spell). Scarlett, personally, didn't use nicknames, and she voiced the fact.

"Yep, I'm a first-year," said Scarlett. "I'm also in Gryffindor! You can call me Scarlett, and nothing else."

Scarlett grinned as she noticed Aurelia's eyes darting from her, to the sweets. They picked everything up and grouped them safely in a little pile. Scarlett picked up a Cauldron Cake - always a safe bet because they all were the same. Aurelia pointed to the lake.

"Isn't it beautiful? I spending alone-time here, it's very peaceful," Auri said, staring at the Great Lake. Soft ripples were, well, rippling across the dark water. The lake had that salty air around it, like the beach, and mountains stood in the distance. Scarlett had always wanted to explore beyond those mountains. What lay there? Giants? Dragons?

"So why were you here?" continued Auri.

Scarlett shrugged. "To relax a little. Maybe procrastinate."

She laughed. "Anyway, how about you? Who are you? I mean I know you're a Gryffindor first-year but..."

She was still overseeing the ripples forming in the lake. They were peaceful and the water was dark, making it even more mysterious. Her curiosity arose, but she sat down and let her feet dangle into the water, it was cool and refreshing... exactly what she needed on such a hot summer day.

She listened to Scarlett with newly-found patience and giggled at Scarlett being strict about nicknames. Hmmm, now she wanted to think of one just to annoy the girl. How about Scar Scar? Or Scarli? But her train of thought was lost by a question from Scarlett. "Anyway, how about you? Who are you? I mean I know you're a Gryffindor first-year but..."

She froze as the words sunk into her head. She never thought about that... she always just assumed she was Aurelia Roberts, the girl who likes Quidditch and adventures, but who was she really? I'm just overthinking. Wow, I didn't even know I could overthink! She smiled at her thoughts before realizing she still hadn't answered Scarlett's question. "Uh, I mean... I guess I still don't really know who I am yet. But... I like Quidditch... Pranks... Adventures... Hanging out with friends... and the occasional me-time", she looked at Scarlett hoping she hadn't sounded like a complete idiot.

"What about you? Who are you?", they were getting a little too deep into themselves, but Auri didn't care at that moment. "Are you going to summer camp? I can't wait to see Durmstrang play..." Of course. Her mind steered off onto Quidditch mode as it did ever so often. It seemed like it was all the girl thought about, but who would have thought different from a girl being raised by a professional Quidditch player, with two Quidditch nerds of brothers? Huh, but people generally didn't really know who Aurelia was, just like she didn't herself.
