Katrina knew that this Summer was going to be better than the one before. The only thing that would be different, was the fact that she was going to make the most of it. She even wrote a list of goals. Now, goal writing was not one of the normal habits that the second-year participated in. However, if she was going to do anything but feel worse about herself, she needed to do something now. But she wanted to change her routine and since she had energy now, she was putting it to use.

Katrina pulled her hair and slipped on a pair of grey running shoes. The red-head was wearing black leggings and a loose grey t-shirt, the most 'sporty' outfit she had. Since the girl only had half a dozen outfits, it was surprising she even had that. Katrina grabbed a water bottle and was out the doors onto the grounds at least an hour before breakfast.

She started down the path and found a relatively flat place to start. The lioness did some basic stretches, wishing that she was flexible. In all honesty, she was not healthy. She didn't do enough exercise and didn't eat enough. Her frame was delicate and frail, unlike she had ever been before. Her plan, for exercise this summer, was to go out for a morning run each day and possibly one after lunch as well. She wanted to get moving and get back in shape.

The Gryffindor started at a fast pace. Her ponytail swung in time with her steps. At first, it was easy, nothing was pulling and she just enjoyed the feeling of the air on her cheeks. A couple of minutes later, however, she was bored and already feeling tired. Just keep going. Just keep going. Her internal dialogue was not helping and instead made her feel less encouraged. Music. She wanted to plug in her earbuds and just lean into the music, let that fuel her spirit, but the magical barrier around the school kept her from even having that.

Instead, Katrina made her own music. As soon as she started humming, her feet picked up the fast pace of the song. Soon enough, she was cruising along to the beat in her head, ignoring the pulls of her out of shape legs and her aching in her calves. Her humming grew until she was fully singing. She wasn't afraid of anyone else hear her because no one else would be out this early in the morning.
"Close your tired eyes, relax and then
Count from 1 to 10 and open them
All these heavy thoughts will try to weigh you down
But not this time
"
Along with the lyrics, she allowed herself to calm, to just enjoy doing something healthy for herself. She was going to fly. She was going to truly learn what it meant to be happy, to be content, to be herself again. This was the beginning of a new self.
"Way up in the air, you're finally free
And you can stay up there right next to me
All this gravity will try to pull you down
But not this time
"
Katrina could feel herself promising to do more to be healthy. She was going to exercise more and eat more. She was going to do the things she loved with no regrets. She was soaring above the clouds. Katrina was free to do whatever she wanted. She could be whoever she wanted. This was the starting of her restart.

The Hogwarts Summer Camp information had finally been released and Adonis was practically now skipping on his feet after reading it. He was more than pumped upon seeing the list, filling with excitement almost immediately. This summer seemed to be more than promising. They were going to the London Quidditch Stadium! Not only did they have a whole list of activities ahead of them to do, but they were going to also be able to watch the International Quidditch Tournament between Wizarding Schools. They were there to support Hufflepuff who would be representing Hogwarts, of course. Adonis honestly had no problem with that, this was about school pride at this point after all and it was up to the Hufflepuff house to win it in Hogwarts name. This was Hogwarts school spirit at this point, not house spirit. Though it was a shame it wasn't Slytherin who hadn't won and couldn't be representing Hogwarts in the tournament. There was always next year though. Durmstrang and Ilvermorny though? Two of the four most prestigious wizarding schools, which also had been Beauxbatons as the fourth alongside Hogwarts. Adonis couldn't wait to meet students from Durmstrang and Ilvermorny. Two differently schools ethically and mentally. It would be interesting to see how the students from all three schools would end up interacting with each other that was for sure. One thing for sure was that it would be a throwdown in terms of fighting for school pride in who would be the top school.

As Adonis had begun to do ever since the middle of the school year after winter break, he was headed towards the Great Lake to do once again. That being him catching up on homework last minute early in the morning that he would procrastinate on throughout the weekend. The weekend was his only free time most of the time and he liked to do whatever, so he tended to procrastinate last minute sometimes on his homework during the weekend. He was still an E average student though, nonetheless. His homework always ended up getting graded with either an E or an O, so it was perfectly fine with him whenever he procrastinated during the weekends like this.

On his way over towards the Great Lake he came across a familiar set of red hair and it's teal streak. Was that his friend Katrina running? He didn't take her to be much of a runner but then again there seemed to be a lot of things that everyone was doing nowadays that seemed to be unbeknownst to him. She was singing too it seemed like from what he heard, just like the one time in the ballroom as well but without the sadness and emotional pain.

He thought on it for a moment until finally beginning to jog over to her until he caught up to her and began backpedaling on the side of her at the same pace. Adonis was tempted to interrupt but at the same time he didn't want to, since it seemed like she was into whatever she was singing. Though he felt that he needed to share news of the 'Hogwarts Summer Camp' activities and whatnot to her. He knew from what she told him during their first meeting that she didn't do as much her first year but she began to go to more events during her second year and this was a perfect opportunity to open up and do more!

Eventually, he decided on speaking up, "Hey, Kat-", as soon as the words came out of his mouth, Adonis tripped while backpedaling and did a backwards somersault as he fell over. Within a moments notice, a slew of profane words in Italian flew out of his mouth like a sailor at the fall, dusting himself off to stand up and catch up to Katrina if she continued to keep jogging after his fall. "As I was saying... look! The Summer Camp info for Hogwarts got released this morning!" Adonis thrusted the paper forward, showing her what they would have to choose from.

After doing all of that, he noticed he had interrupted her run and looked down, "Oh," he said rather quietly with a look on his face that said 'yikes'. "Uhhhh... right! You were on your run. I'll go now, just wanted to show you that." He said, turning on his heels slowly to begin walking in the direction of the Great Lake unless stopped.

Albert was no stranger to the morning. He considered himself a night-owl, but he could get up roughly any time. Maybe it's military sleep syndrome or something. It could just be because I set myself a pattern. Whatever the cause, Albert was already energized and ready for whatever would present itself today.

Leaving the castle, he saw a sign entitled {Great Lake}. Great Lake, that sounds cool! How great is it? He obviously needed to get out of the horrible dormitory. He was spending far too much time there. There, or in the various vantage points around the school. He felt almost like a squatter, or a homeless, sitting in the same areas every day.

He needed to use the whole grounds. This was HIS school, and he attended it. He reminded himself that he was not a visitor and should not treat himself as one.

The trail to the Great Lake was a nice one - carefully manicured by gardeners, or was it magic? The dirt underfoot yielded to his step enough to dampen the reverberation through his joints, but was firm enough to serve as a nice footpath. His steps made a hollow sound as he sped up a little - he was hoping to catch the breeze before the midday heat would radiate through the Scottish cloudscape above him.

What nice clou- he could not get distracted. He willed the thoughts away and continued down the footpath.

Soon enough, he reached the lake. The landscape was nice enough. Not as nice as he would have hoped, for a magical school, but again, he supposed that magic had its limits.

Dragonflies and wasps buzzed over him, eager to fly in the morning humidity before the sun burned it off. Infernal pests, he thought angrily.

Maybe he could enjoy his time at the lake. Perhaps go for a run (or, God forbid, a swim). Who knew that the grounds were so expansive.

Soon enough, he saw a tiny grey figure. Likely 300 or so meters out, but Albert's vision was not too good. As the figure pulled into focus, Albert noticed a small redhead jogging. She appeared to be tired, but was somehow willing herself on.

Was that vocalization he heard? He listened more closely and confirmed that she was singing to the pace of her footsteps. Well, she seems pretty approachable, plus I need to meet more people. This damn school is still confusing.

As she pulled up, maybe five meters away, he called, "Hey!", in a loudish voice.

Katrina was content with the speed she was going at. She had passed the point where it was exhausting and was onto a plateau where the more she ran, the less she felt. It was nice. She never really thought of herself as much of a runner, but as Hogwarts didn’t offer much in the realm of sports besides Quidditch, running became her go to. Katrina was just singing along to the chorus, when she heard a set of footsteps behind her. She slowed a little, not wanting to loose the momentum, but curious to see who it was.

Adonis began jogging backwards beside her and Katrina allowed her singing to fade away, the song still in her head keeping rhythm. “Hey Adonis,” Katrina wished her voice didn’t sound so tired. She focused on slowing her breathing, hoping that she at least looked like she ran more than she actually did.

Adonis fell and he cursed on the way down and Katrina stopped offering him a hand up. “You alright?” A smile pulled at her lips, always the most interesting of greetings. The whole incident seemed comical and Katrina felt her mood lightening.

Adonis began talking rapid fire about the summer camp. She hadn’t seen the flyer yet so when he offered it, Katrina looked it over. There was a whole lot more happening this summer than last. But it seemed like the camp was only part of the summer. She would have to find a place to go now. Katrina masked the doubt that flitted through her mind, thoughts still reeling with all of the information. “Wait, so... summer camp for twenty days. We will be staying in tents of 10? There’s a bunch of activities? And a trip to London?” Katrina said all of this slowly, trying to piece it all together still. It seemed the jog was messing with her clarity.

Adonis looked down and turned to go to the lake. “Wait, Adonis, do you want to jog? I’m not planning on going for too much longer if you want to tag along,” The offer hung in the air as another boy pounded up the track behind her. It seemed she wasn’t quite as alone as she had thought.

The boy called out and Katrina pivoted on her heel. With her offer to Adonis still extended, she began again at a medium speed. “Hey,” she replied to the newcomer, “What brings you out today?”

Adonis took the offer as he grabbed hold of her hand to help him back up to his feet. "Yup. I'll be fine." He said awkwardly, rubbing the back of his head with a chuckle. Their greetings did always seem to have a way that was rather odd and quite funny if they were looked back on in the future. He sure liked to embarrass himself some way or another in front of others at times somehow.

Mention of the summer camp brought a smile back to his face though as that topic was brought back up after letting out a mouthful of it."Yup! Summer camp for twenty days and we live on the first of July for it and come back on the twentieth. There's no staying at Hogwarts during it or after it either." Adonis was trying his best to not bring up the word 'home' around her or anything like that and just continued on with the topic. "But yes! We'll be able to stay in tents of 10 people max for the summer camp. They're charmed tents too by the way, so in the inside it's like the size of a house with a common area and small rooms, a dining area too. It's real neat. We should tent together with others if you go and maybe invite some of your own friends too if you want." He said with a shrug while proposing the last idea. "Yes. There is like several activities to do all on different days."

Adonis began to walk in the other direction towards the Great Lake until she offered for him to jog with her. Did he want to jog right now? He sort of warmed up his body beforehand already when he was jogging backwards the first time and he felt as if he could keep it up. Plus, early morning workouts like this was nothing new to him. He'd been doing this every Saturday early in the morning and heading to the Quidditch training pitch to practice. That was tiring and draining enough, so he could definitely do this.

With the turn of his heels once again and a his usual smile on his face, Adonis went over to her to begin jogging alongside her. "In that case, I guess so." He said, chuckling and then suddenly turning to face the other boy who had just now joined them as well. "Hello. Nice to meet you." Adonis waved with a smile in greeting to the other kid.

Adonis filled Katrina in with all of the information she had been missing. The camp would only be for twenty days. The tents they would be staying in were enchanted to be larger on the inside. Katrina tried, and failed to not look so impressed. Even being around magic for two years hadn't desensitized her to the wonder. Katrina didn't understand what he meant when he offered for them to bunk together. Her mind was simply so preoccupied that she didn't quite catch it.

When Adonis agreed to join for the rest of the jog, Katrina's mood instantly brightened. She picked up the pace a bit, waving at the boy behind them to join if he wanted to. Her pace wasn't too fast. Simply something she could easily keep for the next 15 or so minutes. The song she had been singing played in the back of her head, occasionally she would hum a couple notes.

Adonis and Katrina talked the rest of the jog. It was idle chatter. The kind of talking that Katrina hardly ever partook in it was casual and pleasant and she didn't have to worry about what she was saying. As they approached the castle, the duo planned for Katrina to stay with Adonis in Italy for two weeks this summer. Instantly the pressure Katrina had been feeling about this summer faded. Even if she had to spend the rest of the summer in the Leaky Cauldron, she would still have two weeks in Italy to look forward to.

As they ended up the jog, Katrina and Adonis went their separate ways. But there was a feeling of warmth that stuck with Katrina for the rest of the day.
