*What... What am I doing?

Making a 'zheeewwwwwmmm' noise, the figurine entwined in her fingers "flew" through the air, before landing down onto the grass. It was a clear day, with the breeze flowing through the green blades peacefully. The noises that would leave Lucette's mouth pierced the silence, the girl kneeling on the grass in her dark robes. In her hand, a unicorn figurine that Pete had gifted her. Aside from the strange looks and giggles from her peers, the world outside of her little playing area didn't exist to her. The only "person" that mattered: Lady Spade. With that, she melted away into a world of her own, her only coping mechanism to deal with the brutality of the real world.

Lady Spade, a blue-hued mare, galloped through the grass, huffing. She was sent to this strange land on an important mission, and she wouldn't return until she had completed it.  She slowed her gallop, her head tilting upwards and squinting at the brown castle in front of her. This was it: the Kingdom of the Card. Her hooves strode forward, and she knocked on the door, neighing loudly. "I demand thee to open the door! 'Tis me, Lady Spade of the Kingdom of Cinnamon!"

After a few moments, the brown gate swung open, a human squinting at her. A dark-skinned human with curly black hair stood before her, a black tunic adoring their small body. Spade stepped back in audible shock; When had humans returned to the land? Before she could say anything, the human spoke in a booming voice. "You ambassadors are not allowed in the Kingdom of Card! I, General Cotton, refuse thy entry so go on home!

And with that, the door slammed shut, rejecting Lady Spade in her quest to ally with the Kingdom and its prince. What would Lady Spade do now?

A soft voice escaped Lucette's mouth, clearly trying to mimic an elegant tone. "I must find a way into the palace, but how?" The horse figurine looked up at the handmade cardboard box, Lucette letting out a perplexed "Hmm". She shifted her body, the unicorn figurine falling out of her hands as she went to grab her tiny doll from within the cardboard box. She had found this doll somewhere without any proper clothing other than a small white garb, so Lucette had ripped up some of her old clothing and (badly) sewed a tunic for her. Cotton was her favorite doll, but the competition was non-existent seeing how she didn't own another doll.

She leaned Cotton on the door, her back facing away from the cut-out piece. Lucette sighed, speaking in her best imitation of a low voice. "The prince would not be happy that I was rude..." Lucette glanced at the other figurine that was in the "castle", a plush dragon: Prince Percival. Lucette let out a small smile. It never occurred to her that it would be weird that she pretended a whole other world existed. At this moment, this was the only world that mattered.

Her doll paced back and forth in her hand, Lucette muttering plans on how to fix this problem. Cotton was in a conundrum now: how was she going to convince the prince that nobody was at the door? The very thought of that blue-hued Unicorn being incinerated by the dragon prince made her shudder. Lucette thought for a moment, staring at the dragon plush, thinking. How would he even be like? She let a smile tug at her lips. *He'd be like Pete, of course.* Despite the weird looks from her peers around her, who seemed too mature for their actual age, she continued on her journey, her hand gripping onto the dragon plush, her voice booming.

"Who wast at the door, General!? Was it my pizza delivery?!"

General Cotton turned on her heels, her face petrified. No, it wasn't the fact that he was a prince with the most power in the kingdom. No, it wasn't the fact that her prince was a dragon. No, it wasn't the fact that he could burn her without hesitation. It was the fact that she had completely forgotten to order the damned pizza. She yelped silently, just thinking about how her prince would torture her for making such a mistake. Realizing that she hadn't responded, Cotton barked back. "No, my liege! Your pizza is still on its way! Be patient!

Smoke ascended from the prince's suite, and before she realized it the ground rocked. She hustled to stride backward before she contacted the castle gate. Trapped. Trapped with the dragon prince. She trembled as a large shadow covered the area, fear gripping her soul and threatening to demolish it if she moved or screamed in the slightest. A loud snarl shook the chamber further, and her eyes grew at the sight of her prince. A deep green shade came into view of her hazel eyes, and she pressed up further against the exit, wishing she could just phase right through it and into liberation. His yellow eyes met hers, loud inhales and exhales shaking the grand creature. An inch away from her face and his figure enveloped in his own smoke, his rich voice bellowed.

"Is there pepperoni on it?"

The green plush backed away, Lucette chuckling in her best, deep tone. "Cease being so scared around me, Cotton. You're my general, and my companion. Call the pizza place and advise them to make haste." She moved the plush up and down to mimic footsteps as the dragon returned to his suite, and just plopping down onto the small rag that Lucette claimed as his bed. She let out a soft relieved sigh, mimicking Cotton. The doll turned on her heels, going to a piece of uncooked macaroni. Using her fingers to lift it up to Cotton's tiny ear, she spoke. "Excuse me?  Can I get a large pepperoni pizza? Like... super large? This is for the prince." Lucette paused, letting out an annoyed sigh. "Yes, the one that is a dragon. And could you hurry up? The prince is impatient and if he doesn't get his pizza soon he'll come over and cook it himself. By burning the place down. Okay, bye bye~."

Lucette chuckled at the relationship between the two of them. Despite the formality of their relationship, Percival still called his general his friend. Despite him having more power than her, he still treated her with respect. She let out a soft sigh, thinking. What if the real world functioned this way?
