@Juniper Irving @Roman KingstonKatrina looked over her loopy handwriting scribbled below a soon to be masterpiece. She started with the shape of the rolling hills, then a artists scribble for the Hogwarts castle, she finished her brief sketch with the cloudy sky. The second-year's pencil flew across the paper spilling her work across the untainted page. Then she continued with some more detail. More hills, some trees, refined castle, tree branch obscuring the top right hand side of the page, the page started to look like something. Her artwork was messy to start, but her eraser guided the highlights. The winter Hogwarts sky.
Time passed but Katrina was oblivious to it all. Soon trees seemed to pop from the page. The castle seemed tangible. The cloudy sky seemed to give you chills. Katrina added snow from the sky with her eraser. This masterpiece almost rivaled her dragon from this summer. She added more shadows, highlighted areas, edited rough sections.
Katrina sat against the tree base and looked up at the branches. She slipped her notepad in her brown satchel at her waist and scrambled up the tree. She looked out over the campus and sighed. She brought her notebook out again and continued to draw.

Interacting with @Katrina Walker and @Juniper IrvingDistancing himself from the magnificent castle, letting himself relax as he feels the weak, but cold wind from the beginning of winter hitting his face, Roman walks across the school grounds, breathing heavily, tired eyes wandering up in the sky, analyzing the clouds and the shapes he can’t quite pin-point what they are.
Roman’s still very tired from his late-night adventures from yesterday, but it’s mostly due to the fact that the cold dorm had been unbearable last night, and the boy spent the rest of the night trying to fall asleep, moving around the sheets, in a failed attempt to warm himself. Luckily, he doesn’t have any more lessons today, and, though he wanted to go through his homework one more time to make sure everything’s perfect, the need to sleep calls louder.
The thought of going back to the common room is tempting, but he’s tired enough, so going back to the cold dungeons is out of the question. Roman decides to continue walking, mind traveling places, as he sighs heavily. When he gets far enough from the castle, he finds an old tree. An idea bubbles in his head, and he smiles, analyzing the tree a bit more. The leaves are a healthy tone of green, while the trunk and branches are thick, in a sick shade of brown.
It seems strong enough to handle it, the boy notices, happy to have a place to rest for a while. Besides, Roman is not that heavy. With that in mind, the Slytherin decides to climb it, using all the rest of the strength he has in his arms. Forcing himself up, clutching one of the thick branches, Roman sweeps his leg over it and props himself up, a small smile on his face.
Once he looks up, he's surprised when his eyes meet a girl. Oh, great, Roman thinks, bitter, a sour expression making its way to his face. Honestly, the last thing he wanted at the moment was to have to interact with another human being. So he lets out an annoyed huff, “Oi! Who are ya and wot are ya doin’ here, eh?!”

Every time Juniper wandered out to the Grounds she worried it was her last great chance to do it. Winter weather was moving in, and it would be harder to explore and sketch and collect when the ground was all covered in snow. She had to make the most of it now, before she was cooped up all winter and got lost in her obsessive quest for O's again.
Bundled in her usual clash of clothing (teal sweater, house scarf, black hat and boots) and with her notebook under her arm, she hurried along with no real agenda in mind. She just wanted to get as far from the castle as she could, into some new, uncharted part of the grounds, with what little time she had left.
But a nearby movement caught her eye, making her jump like she'd been caught. Another student... tall and pissed-looking, glaring at the sky as he strode through the trees aways down from her. Eager to be alone, Juniper ducked behind a tree to see where he would go, so she could go the opposite.
But he stopped going anywhere. He slowed to a halt, studying a nearby tree. Juniper watched curiously. Then, to her delight, he climbed. It was so unexpected it made her laugh out loud. He only went as far as the first branch he could reach, a sturdy, outstretched limb that did look rather inviting. It was so like something she would do back home, she felt a fleeting kinship with the stranger before resuming her avoidant wandering.
Turning on her heel, she only made it a few feet before she heard him shout.
Cautiously now, she tippy-toed back the trunk she'd been spying behind, straining to hear what had provoked him.

Katrina stiffened as a boy she didn’t recognize approached. She wore a puzzled look as he climbed up the first branch of the tree. It was perplexing and a tad funny that it seemed he hadn’t seen her. Katrina slipped her notebook and pencil in her satchel.
He scowled and yelled at her asking why she was there. Katrina winced at his harsh tone and demanding eyes. She took a breath to keep from stuttering.
“Katrina. And I was here before you.” she knew her tone was snarky and condescending, but she didn’t care.
Katrina deftly climbed higher up in the tree. Laughing quietly at his struggle to climb. Katrina was always in this tree and it was rather awkward having to share the space. Katrina debated climbing back down when she saw someone duck behind a tree. Her impulse was to think it was a hag or something. Her fears dissipated when she saw a girl she didn’t recognize.
Great, now two people have discovered my secret spot.
She slipped down the tree like an otter dodging rocks. Quick, nimble, and efficient were the three best words to describe her movement. Katrina paused at the bottom curious if either students would say anything more.

Just as Juniper realized there was a second person in the tree, she saw she'd been spotted. Her stomach sunk... this had to be the worst way to meet a person, having them catch you snooping. But there was no helping it now. The only thing that could possibly make this worse was to be seen scampering away.
She headed towards the popular tree as the girl who'd been climbing started heading down. It was actually pretty impressive, how swiftly and skillfully she made her descent, like an acrobat. Juniper recalled her recent experience climbing trees on the Grounds and her ungraceful landing.
Act natural, she told herself hopelessly. She began to swing her notebook back and forth from one arm to another. Just out taking a stroll through the Grounds.... nothing to be weird about...
Actually, this was true. She'd only wanted to be out exploring alone. Maybe she could just swing this way and keep walking. She'd introduce herself to these other students and then be on her merry way.
"Hello!" Juniper called as the girl jumped down. "Lovely day, isn't it!?" although the day was not particularly lovely.
That was when she noticed the girl's satchel. Juniper felt a pang of curiosity and envy. How perfect for carrying a notebook!
"Oh, I love your satchel!" she said genuinely. "Do you come out here to sketch, too?"
She realized the boy she'd seen originally was still sitting on his branch of the tree. "I'm Juniper, from Gryffindor." she attempted to be friendly, "What house do you both belong to?"

Her tone catches him off guard, and no snarky reply comes out of him, because, yes, she’d been there before him, but that doesn’t mean anything to him. So he can only frown (more like pouting, but he won’t admit that!), bitter as always as he silently watches the redhead slip down the tree. Eyes glued to her, the boy slowly turns, his grip on the branch going tighter, trying not to fall and look pathetic.
Roman catches the sight of another student standing there, who he hadn’t noticed at all. It makes him sigh, frustrated to have to interact with someone else. With a closed expression back on his face, looking as serious and scary as he can, he listens as the new girl starts to talk, complementing the other's satchel.
She turns to him, at last, introducing herself as Juniper, to which he rolls his eyes, not giving a damn. Another Gryffindor, he thinks to himself, blaming destiny because those little lions just seemed to gravitate towards him. First Clementine, now this girl. He can’t catch a break with them, it seems. Lovely, isn’t it?
“Roman Kingston,” says the boy, copying the other girl’s movements and heading down from the place he’d been sitting. There’s no point in staying there anymore, considering relaxing surely will be the last thing he’ll get today. Guess he’ll have to head back to the cold common room. Great, Roman thinks sarcastically. “Slytherin.”@Juniper Irving and @Katrina Walker

Katrina was taken aback slightly by the mood change in the new girl. She went from tentative and hiding to open and overwhelmingly happy. Katrina shrugged to her first statement on the weather because-- to be frank-- it wasn't that lovely. Katrina noticed a darker emotion flash over the girl's face but she masked it by gushing about Katrina's satchel.
"Yes, I sketch." Katrina didn't mean for her voice to be so short and quipped but she was a bit put-off that two people found her secret spot.
The girl continued by introducing herself as Juniper Irving-- Gryffindor as well-- although she didn't remember meeting Juniper before. The boy in the tree startled Katrina a bit when he spoke from behind her. He introduced himself as Roman Kingston from Slytherin. Roman seemed as annoyed as she was. Although he had no reason to be. Katrina fumed inside her head careful to not let the anger show in any way. Subconsciously, she tensed her hand and put it in a robe pocket.
Before speaking Katrina took a breath to be more polite, "Katrina Walker. Gryffindor."
She looked around aware that the path wasn't visible. She looked to the right where the castle stood and searched for the way back. Katrina was aware the path was odd and took a few turns so the way back wasn't necessarily strait that way. The surly Gryffindor didn't want to admit that she was lost, so instead waited for one of the pupils to take the lead.

Sorry about her derogatory statements... no harm done. Planning on improving Katrina's mood as the thread goes on. Also, if someone wants to take the lead and take the rest down a path, Katrina will follow. To add to that, whoever leads will probably have to take a wrong turn. @Roman Kingston @Juniper Irving

"I'm a sketcher, too!" Juniper continued. "Well, more of a note-taker, really..." She sheepishly held up her notebook. "I'm just getting this one started... and, well... the grounds are really good for that kind of thing..."
This was not going well. The other two weren't exactly hostile, but they weren't jumping at the chance to maker her acquaintance, certainly. She was beginning to wonder if scampering away would have been the best course of action after all. And naturally, because she was nervous, and because their expressions were making her all the more nervous, she couldn't figure out a way to stop talking.
"This looks like a great spot for it, too." she gestured towards the tree, notebook still in hand. It really was an ideal spot. No wonder it was attracting so many reluctant introverts.
"Is that why you're out here?" she asked Roman and immediately regretted it. He'd jumped down from the tree now, too, and looked ready to... Juniper wasn't sure. Snarl? Punch someone? Spit whatever tasted so bad out of his mouth?
Abort! She scolded herself. Shutup shutup shutup and get out of here already!
Katrina seemed to have the same idea. She looked around as if for an escape, and Juniper forgot her plans to venture out farther and tried to shift gears.
"I guess we should head back, huh?" she doubted anyone wanted to take a stroll with her, but it was an excuse to start walking. "I'm just going to take this little shortcut..." and without paying any attention to where she was headed, Juniper set off between the trees.

No harm done! Also, sorry for the late reply.Once he’s standing, standing a bit closer to the redhead than necessary, Roman frowns again, crossing his arms, settling to watching those two little lions interacting, taking a step to the side, wanting distance. That Juliper, Janiper — whatever her name is, he doesn’t care — talks about how the Hogwarts grounds are a great place for drawing, looking awkward, almost as if she’s scared of the two of them. It makes some sort of accomplishment bloom in his chest and the boy almost smiles. Almost. What a Gryffindor…
She turns to him and the question makes him raise an eyebrow, wondering what the hell about him makes it look like he likes to draw. Roman wants to say that he plays music, that he’s cooler than them, but he doesn’t. He only rolls his eyes, looking around, trying to remember the path he’d made to get there, and says, “No,”
All three of them seem to want to leave, to which he's very thankful for. Both of the girls look around, and Juniper — or whatever — suggests they head back. Roman doesn't want to go with her or that other girl, Katrina, but he bites back the snarky comment because he doesn't know where exactly he should go. So, sighing, running his fingers through his black hair, he moves towards the direction the other girl headed.
“Whatevah,” he mumbles, sounding more frustrated than anything. Then, he takes a good look at Katrina, and still frowning, he asks, sounding like he knows where they're going, “Ya comin’?”

Katrina stared blankly at Juniper wishing her to stop talking. She knew it was rude, but Katrina was not in the mood for pleasent conversation. She seemed to be rambling out of nerves more than anything. The girl seemed the opposite of Katrina, whom stayed silent when she was nervous.
Roman stood with an expression of annyoance? Frusteration? It seemed unnecisary since he just randomly showed up expecting them to grovel at his feet. He randomly smiled and Katrina began to doubt his sanity.
Although they were annoying Katrina, when Juniper set off Katrina reluctantly followed behind. Her hesitation caused an unneeded comment from Roman, which she responded by ignoring.
The silence became deafening and Katrina-- fueled by annoyance-- spoke up, "What brings you here then, Roman?" Her question was anything but polite, and the pointed remark might seem rude from Juniper's point of view.
Roman seems like a stuck-up typical Slytherin (according to his robes at lease). And Juniper seems like a timid and overly-talkative Gryffindor. Katrina took a slow breath to keep from another biting remark and went on her way.
