Everywhere the Light Touches...
@Ana BeckettHe wasn't one to just idly walk about without an agenda, but for some reason, in this chilly and bitterly cold weather, Piérre felt obligated to just go out and enjoy the winter atmosphere. Christmas break was swiftly on its way, and Piérre was scrambling to finish all of his homework in a timely manner. That being said, he was still a bit behind, but with all the work that he had put in already, the boy thought that he deserved a break.
What better way to enjoy a break than to go and break some rules?
There had been a lot of curiosity surrounding the Forbidden Forest. It was called Forbidden for a reason, after all. But then again, there had to be fantastic and amazing things in that area, right? Magical creatures, dangerous monsters... Okay, well, maybe Piérre didn't plan on going head to head with a manticore or something, but wouldn't it be cool to run into a unicorn, a faerie, or like, a centaur?
These were the things that went through the boy's head on a daily basis, and that was what drew him closer and closer to the foreboding edge of the dark, yet eerily beautiful snow covered pines and twisted brambles which hardly let a rabbit through the thick, let alone a twelve year old boy, no matter how skinny he was.

Unfortunately, Piérre didn't have a Gryffindor coat... or a scarf for that matter. But! He did have a red knit hat that was trimmed with gold. It kind of looked odd when combined with his thick navy winter coat and black gloves, but if it kinda followed his theme, then hey, Piérre was far from picky. Still, even with the unfortunate lack of red wardrobe that he possessed, perhaps a little bit of lion courage followed him about, as he crouched down on hands and knees and tried to peer through a gap into the Forest.
It was dark and thorns twisted every which way. A few times, the lad could've sworn that he saw eyes looking back at him, and small animal-like shadows dashing in the cover of darkness.
With a huff, Piérre collapsed onto his stomach, kicking his feet up in the air as he put his chin in his hands. Smiling, he watched the movement of the Forest with emerald eyes. Technically he wasn't in the Forest, after all... This should be completely within the school regulations, right? The snow crunched underneath him, and unless someone did a double-take they would think that it was a peculiar little navy ditch, and not a little boy kicking his feet in the air and looking at a peculiar hole that led into the scraggly bushes of the Forbidden Forest.

There were idiots and there was Ana. One would think that getting kidnapped after venturing too far into the Forbidden Forest would be enough to steer someone away for several lifetimes. For Ana, it did so for a little more than a month. Granted, she wasn't actually processing anything that had happened, which may have contributed to her willingness to tempt fate. That and the fact that if she continued revising for exams for another second she was certain her brain was going to explode.
Between the girl's ensemble and pale skin, she nearly blended into the snowy landscape, save for her dark braid, which fluttered behind her with every gust of wind. Relatively silently, Ana approached the forest.
Her heart sped up as she drew near, memories of the last time she'd been this close rushing to the forefront of her mind. Stumbling upon Walker, being stupid enough to not only goad the other girl into venturing in but to have ventured in herself. She stopped her thoughts there. Now wasn't the time. Right now, she was going to enjoy the scenery. Attempt to reclaim some of her childhood wonder and awe for snow. She was only 13, still a child by most standards. Even if so many other things had been spoiled for her, surely she could enjoy the snow.
The quiet in the wintery wonderland was a stark contrast to the hubbub of Hogwarts these days. One hand was wrapped around a hot cup of coffee which she sipped as she walked. As she reached the forest, her pace slowed to a halt. It looked innocent enough from this distance, like an ordinary, vaguely sinister forest. There was movement, disrupting the still, and her dark eyes intently peered as it. Before she was even fully conscious of it, she began to approach the movement. She definitely didn't learn too quickly...
Tilting her head to the side as she approached, she realized it was a person. Or at least a navy winter coat and a pair of kicking legs. A person was certainly the less disturbing option, so she would go with that until proven otherwise.
"Are you quite alright there?" she said, debating whether or not to poke whoever or whatever it was with a stick. She decided not to, but didn't rule out hexing or punching the being should it be less than an ally.
Long story short, I survived

@Ana BeckettPiérre was humming to himself quietly, just watching the overshadowed growths. Man, he could hardly wait until he could venture there in his later years. The world around him was shifting and strange, and he felt like nothing was truly standing entirely still, but perhaps that was for the better; perpetually in motion.
The question, combined with a significant chill (gotta love that Terrible Presence) that came from behind Piérre caused him to inadvertently jump, his feet digging themselves into the snow and he snapped around to look at the person who had spoken to him. He hoped it wasn’t a professor or prefect here to bust him. After all, he hadn’t even gone into the woods, he was just looking at them!
“I didn’t go in I swear! I’m just looking!” He quickly responded, waving his hands in front of him as he rolled on his back in the snow. Let them see his face and the genuine honesty that he bore in his words.
Only instead of a professor or a prefect Piérre found himself facing one of his own quidditch teammates; Ana Beckett. Or, at least that was who Piérre thought was in front of him. She seemed to almost blend into the landscape behind her, the eye being drawn to her face and eyes solely, as well as the slight, uneasy feeling that Piérre got from her.
“Oh, hi Ana! How are you doing? Winter treating you well?” Despite the feeling, the boy was still as exuberant as ever, waving hello at her with the hands that had once been waving in submission and surprise. “Just wanted an excuse to go outside for a bit. I love the snowfall we’ve been getting!” As if to solidify his words, Piérre began to make a snow angel, smiling up at the third year.
She had always seemed a bit of a wild flame to the boy, just as much as Piérre was a bit of a chaotic variable himself. It was something that often made Piérre somewhat curious to approach her at times, though the dominating presence that seemed to follow her about seemed to always give the boy reason to pause.
But now was just as good an opportunity to try and get to know her, now that they had been pushed together by some errant strand of situation. “D’you like winter much?”
