History/Background Story: Serena's life was mostly school, friends, and reading, but one of those things, the one she thought she'd never lose, was going to drop from her list. She lived in Manchester, England for her entire life before she came to Hogwarts, and she never had the chance to travel very far. When she was three it was clear to her parents that her metabolism was faster then most kids, making her constantly hungry, but they didn't see it as much of a problem. Her interest in reading started when she was five, when she was starting to learn how to read. She was making friends easily through school, and due to being surrounded by friends at most times she wasn't bullied for the most part, the only run ins with bullies that she had was the few times people decided to prank her at school: taking her bag, pulling on her hair, the normal childish things.
Her school results picked up when she was seven, making her teachers, her parents, and even her friends proud. Which somehow meant to her parents that it was time to have "the conversation" with her, which totally changed how she saw things. She felt then that she was more mature because she knew those things, even though she really wasn't.
Not long after then she gained a group of friends, seven of them including her: Jasmine and Jason (twin brother and sister), Nick, Rosalia, and Derric. It didn't take long for Serena to start developing feelings for one of the boys, Nick. To her, Nick was the only one for her, but she didn't tell anyone her thoughts, not even the other girls. In time, she would soon realize that she should've told him sooner.
Now Serena's mother had stopped letting her go out with her friends as much as normal, which kinda annoyed Serena. It wasn't long until she was so annoyed that she started to complain to her mother about wanting to go out a be with her friends more. Now her mother didn't give in for a couple of weeks, but eventually she did. She immediately reached out to Nick to see if she could see him, because as she had spent time alone, she was able to grow her confidence and was ready to tell him how she felt. He then invited her to meet him at a park near their school, and she immediately set out to go there.
Upon arriving though, she saw something that shook her to the bone; Nick was being beat up by a group of kids that seemed not much older then either of them. She immediately was filled with a deep adrenaline, a feeling that she wasn't at all use to. She instantly ran up to the boys that were hurting Nick, trying to push them away from him, but one of them turned around and smacked Serena across the face, causing her to stumble back and fall onto the ground. She got back up and started to push even hit the boy, trying to get him to stop. He eventually spun around, bringing his fist back to punch Serena. She covered up her face with her hands, cowering back in fear, closing her eyes, waiting for him to hit her, but as she did she felt almost a surge of energy go through her body and disperse into thin air.
She then heard grunting, like someone had just fallen, but with more then one person. She slowly opened her eyes and looked around, seeing all of the group of kids that were beating up Nick on the ground, groaning in pain. She started to feel a little afraid, her mind telling her that she had done it, she couldn't figure out how that would have been possible, but true pain is what she felt when she saw the terror in Nick's eyes. She closed her eyes, but she couldn't get the look in his eyes out of her mind. So she turned, opened her eyes, and ran. Ran all the way home, through the front door and right to her room, she didn't even stop to talk to her mother even though her mother tried to get her attention. She jumped into bed, buried her face into her pillow, and started to cry.
After that happened Serena felt extremely scared to face them again, fearing what they would think of her, but when she went to school something was clearly wrong. She was immediately greeted by her friends like any normal day at school, it was as if Nick didn't even remember what had happened, and when she asked him why he had bruises on his body, knowing they were from when he was hurt by the buys, but Nick just said he had fell. None of it made sense to Serena, there was no way that he could have forgotten, that just didn't make sense. She tried to act normal around her friends at school, but the fear in her mind about what had happened was always in the back of her mind, and that made her almost completely disconnect with them. She continued this way for years until a man came to her house carrying a letter. She heard from her room that he was here to see her. She wondered why he was there for her until her mother called her into the living room. She quickly came, standing there until her mother asked her to sit down. The man then gave Serena a letter. She opened it and it read: “Dear Ms. Serena, we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a enclosed List of necessary books and equipment.”
Serena couldn't believe her eyes. She didn't understand at all. She didn't think that magic was real, and even if it was, she didn't know why that had anything to do with her. The man then explained to her and her parents that her outburst at the park was due to magic, and the sudden mention of the event brought tears to Serena's eyes. The man continued to explain everything to Serena about magic, Hogwarts, and other things of the subject. Afterwards he asked to speak to her parents alone outside, and they accepted, telling Serena to stay inside of the house. When her parents came back in they sat Serena down and explained to her that she was going to transfer to Hogwarts, which seemed very strange to Serena, because they never wanted her that far away from them.
It wasn't long, or at least it didn't feel like long until Serena was to go out to Hogwarts, to start a new chapter of her life, to start something that would change her life forever.
