To call Atlas’ life one punctuated by grace and elegance would be about as far from the truth as possible. From the day she could walk, Atlas was an energized ball of chaos running into just about everything that crossed her path. Cuts and bruises were an ever-present accessory of the girl and she was happy to add to her collection for most of her younger years. From roughhousing with friends, climbing trees, and diving down hills, Atlas developed a passion for remaining active with a healthy amount of action. All of which translated well into her developing love of Quidditch.

In her relatively short time playing Quidditch, she began to realize that being hit by everything and running recklessly into things might not translate into the best strategy. Accompanying this, Atlas also, very secretly, did begin to care some about her appearance. While she still enjoyed the more rough and adventurous pursuits, she began to develop a strong awareness of the potential injuries that she may sustain. It wouldn’t stop her from taking part but she used that awareness and experience to her advantage to avoid sustaining unnecessary damage. She no longer wanted to wander around with cuts and bruises on her face or random black eyes resulting from clumsily allowing things to smack her in the face.

Atlas knew where the dangers and potential injuries would be coming from. She could almost sense when she would be hit by something or when she might run into something. While she used to just ignore that impulse, now she was actively focusing on it to hone her abilities of evasion. Atlas realized that it could be even more exciting and more of a challenge to be exceptionally evasive. Avoiding being hit in dangerous circumstances was far more impressive than just standing still and soaking up unnecessary damage. So instead of silencing that little warning voice in the back of her mind, Atlas listened. She began truly allowing herself to listen to and follow her instincts to avoid being hit.

Between practice duels with Ethen or during Quidditch practice, Atlas worked tirelessly to cultivate and hone her senses. She was naturally a nimble and athletically inclined girl, so her body would quickly follow her commands to evade until it became second nature. Dodging and evading would rapidly become a skill-based on sudden instinct. But her growing evasiveness was also quickly becoming a source of pride. It was proof that she could set her mind to something and truly change her habits to become stronger. There was a sense of true accomplishment for every bludger, spell or rock that the girl was able to deftly avoid and each instance never failed to bring a gleeful but mischievous smile to Atlas’ face.

Ability One: Obnoxiously Strong
Reducio
Selina being quite tall for a twelve year old people underestimated how strong she was, as people thought because she didn't look strong one bit. Stronger then people years older than her, she was on a volleyball team and was bullied regularly by her team mates for not looking as strong for her age. She had been helping her father with his job in the past and he had to lift extremely heavy stuff but Selina had gotten into weightlifting but it wasn't her favourite thing on earth, except she was stronger then she looked.

"I mean it isn't her fault she's so small, but she just isn't strong enough to be on this brilliant volleyball team." said the leader of the bullies extremely loudly, so the coach and Selina could hear her, they were always being rude to Selina.
"You wanna bet?" Selina asked her confidently and angrily to the bully.
"Let's go." the bully said to Selina slyly and evilly.
"Your weak and the smallest person on this team. So you won't be on this team much longer, Knight," the bully said loudly and laughing.
'"Oh, really? I may be small, but don't underestimate my strength or abilities, you may be older than me and in your words wiser but bullying's wrong you just don't understand that." Selina said proudly "I may not look strong but the strength you show is nothing compared to who you are on the inside."
"Oh, really?" cackled the bully. "Your family are losers, so are your werido mates, but nothing compared to your ugly face."
She had crossed the line.
Selina ran forward grabbed the bully's shirt and pulled her up into the air.
"If you say one more mean word about me, my family or friends you will regret it." Selina growled at the bully, angrily.
"Ok, ok I won't do anything." said the bully in a way Selina knew she was being sarcastic.
"I mean it you will regret it," she growled again and she let the bully down onto the floor. The bully ran off to her so called protectors and began laughing and giggling.

"She is so weird strutting about as if she owns the place I will get her kicked of this team." Selina heard the bully whisper to her so called mates.
She had once again in the last few minutes crossed the line, and Selina went charging to the bully once again, she wasn't violent but angry.

But this time the coach walked and told everyone it was practice time. Selina was on a different team to the bully.

Selina had hid the ball so hard the ball had popped but Selina's team had won the time.

"You made the ball explode you will pay Knight." the bully said when they finished the game and the bully slapped Selina hard, but Selina stepped forward and pulled the bully to the floor.
"Will I regret it though? S t a y a w a y f r o m m e!" Selina said clearly.

Just as Blindvision, this is not a superpower. You can't lift people up into the air. there has to be a reason why you are stronger, than an average child. Such as having a hobby to do some sports, do some heavy lifting regularly of some kind. This is a natural trained ability.

People would describe Daphne Barlowe in many ways. Kind, mysterious, intelligent, but most importantly, beautiful. Flowing blonde hair that reached just below her chest, perfect pale white skin that seemed to glow, crystal blue eyes, a slim waist and a petite body shape, some would say she was unnaturally beautiful. However, in no way was Daphne natural. She was a veela. She kept this a secret, however. Not telling anybody, not even telling Alistair Whitlock when she charmed him into falling in love with her.

She had first met Alistair on the streets of London when he was coming home from a long day of work at St. Mungo's Hospital. Alistair was a handsome young man. With his shaggy brown hair and green eyes, he was almost as charming as Daphne. However, Daphne didn't exactly fall for his looks or charm. In fact, she hadn't fallen for him at all. Alistair had come from a well known pureblood family and was quite successful himself. Daphne didn't desire to miss an opportunity to marry into a pureblood family, so she immediately introduced herself. She started by following him into a bar one day, introducing herself as a member of a pureblood family herself. Alistair immediately fell for her, and they eventually got married a mere few months after.

Nobody in Alistair's family suspected Daphne, for she had charmed them as well. A few years later they had their first daughter, Marilyn Whitlock, and a few more after that they had their second daughter, Seraphina Whitlock. It was obvious the two girls had inherited their mother's beauty. Both girls had flowing blonde hair and sea green eyes. Growing up, even they didn't know they were half-veela. Their mother never told them anything directly, but always hinted at their veela heritage through stories and legends she'd tell them before they went to sleep.

Wanting to keep the power she had gained, Daphne forced her girls to marry powerful purebloods. Marilyn didn't exactly agree with her mother, defying her and marrying a muggle-born boy she had met at Hogwarts. She cut off all ties with her family soon after. However, Seraphina obeyed her mother, marrying Garett Laurier. They had four children, Toby, Vivian, Thomas and Valerie. Though Toby and Thomas were both charming young men, it was more obvious in Vivian and Valerie that they had inherited their mother and grandmother's beauty.

Since she was a child, Valerie had been told she was beautiful. Though most said she inherited her father's wits and personality, she had inherited most of her mother's physical traits out of all her siblings. Dirty blonde hair, pale skin, and pale sea green eyes, she was constantly reminded of her unnatural beauty as she grew up. She often unintentionally attracted her classmates, and although she charmed most people, others didn't quite appreciate how she attracted others, often calling her mean names. This made Valerie almost hate her beauty, but as she grew older, she found that it can be useful when used correctly.

A very lonely goblinoid, or rather, a part goblin boy, was one of two sons of both his parents. His dad was a half goblin, getting the trait from his mother, Cody's grandmother, and she was the goblin that remembered the first Wizarding War, then again, his father also seemed to talk about being alive during that war.

The boy was highly intelligent, but it seemed that his twin brother must have gotten the wrong end of the genetic trait. Freddy was not born with his dad's goblin intelligence, but with their mother's athleticism. That was something Cody lacked. But both boys, Freddy and Cody, were provided with the height that they personally despised, especially since they were only eleven years old.

The boys were both three feet and five inches at the age of ten, only going up one inch, three inch and six inches being how tall they are now. Cody's ear was more humanoid, more like the muggles, and was curved rather than pointy. Freddy’s ear was pointy, but not as sharply erected like the full goblins.

The boys were both tan, with a slight tinge of peach. Cody enjoys eating, or rather, making the majority of his diet, of roast beef, then carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers, and cucumbers. He was trying to be a vegetarian, in hopes that he would be taller than his twin. Every day that he lived in the United States of America, Cody would note the steps to making a galleon, as his dad would love making it, in honor of his mother, Cody's grandmother.

Moving to the United Kingdoms was not that big of a struggle, or a stressor, because Cody was looking forward to the future of wielding magic. His dad rumored to Cody when Cody got his Hogwarts Acceptance Letter, that his grandmother and he, Cody's dad, was often used to the magical means of performing magic without a wand. His dad would perform a completely random spell, as he muttered something that sounded like, "Verdimillious." Upon that casting, green lights sparked out of his hand, the green illuminated the dark room they were living in.

Cody was amazed, that could be him, in the future. He has the ability to conjure spells, perhaps with more training. Oh, but the half goblin, and his kids, were all seen as short, slightly wrinkly, with a dome shaped head, and two hands with long fingers. Their feet were also long as well, but it's cool how they could utilize that to their own advantage. It could just be their namesakes that provide them the terrifying truth of how Wizards used to see goblins. His grandmother wasn't able to use a wand because they were deemed inferior, and yet, they still can't go to Hogwarts, because they are nearly seen the same way, but its special how they can snap their fingers and conjure something. Perhaps Cody would be able to do that one day.

The time the quarter goblin spent in the dark room with his father was relaxing, as he had a moment to think. They went back to hammering the golden liquids that were just solidifying, into Galleons.

Cody's Note: As for the ability, if this is approved, then the ability for Cody will be his first year goblin traits, as specified: Part Goblins are skilled at making (actually making) galleons as well as earning money, all legitimate means. Part Goblins have access to a special room in Gringotts that they can bring no others (unless they are also Goblin) to because that would be the greatest treachery. This is a place where they can consort with their own kind but more importantly earn a bit of extra money. Like the dorm rooms, this area is capable of providing financial compensation for those that click on the scholarship/stipend daily. So part-goblins are capable of earning galleons faster than other students. In addition, these Goblins know a special language called Gobbledegook.

Juniper Kelly is short. That is a fact. When you see the young girl for the first time, you'll note many unusual things about her. Her chaotic nature, her loudness, her energy, but the strangest of them all; her height. She is shorter than the shortest of average height people. If she pulled away her wild red hair, some may note the slight point to her ears, or the roundness of her happy and young face. One might even notice her long fingers that would come in handy with a piano. There are reasons for these traits. First, I'll explain where the goblin blood entered her family.

Years ago before her mother was even born, her grandmother went to Hogwarts. She believed that magical creatures were equal with wizards and that they deserved to go to Hogwarts too. She was a great supporter of magical creatures. She met her husband for the first time in Hogsmeade. She was wearing a goblin-made necklace around her neck. Oh, you should of seen it. It was beautiful gold with a delicate floral design holding a diamond. It had been a gift to her, and she wore it everyday. The goblin noticed right away where the necklace came from, and he claimed his great grandfather made that very necklace.

He approached her casually and pointed this out. Juniper's grandmother was a very kind lady, and when she heard where the necklace came from, she took it off gently and gave it to the goblin. He was surprised she had given in so kindly. She told him how she believed that it was cruel the way wizards treated goblins, and she never used her wand in front of him every time they met. She brought him her jewelry box, and she was fascinated how he could tell her the material they were made out of.

You can't control who you fall in love with, this is true. Well, that goblin and that woman fell in love over time, it could not be helped. The goblin proposed, and the two got married.

Years later, they had a little girl. Juniper's grandmother was doubtful that her daughter would go to Hogwarts, but sure enough, she got the letter. As a half-goblin, she was short and had pointy ears. That was noticeable since the goblin blood was more direct in her. Many people teased her about this, and after she graduated Hogwarts, she went to live among muggles.

She became a nurse, a normal nurse, because she couldn't stand the wizarding world's prejudice against goblins and half-goblins.

One day, someone got in a car accident. She was in charge of his surgery, and when he recovered, she took care of him. He was a muggle. She brought him baked goods and gifts until he was better. They began to see each other more often, and they fell in love. Juniper's mother kept quiet about her status the whole time. They got married and had Juniper Kelly. Juniper Kelly was 1/4 goblin, and it was less obvious than it was for her mother. When Juniper had her first instance of magic, her mother knew right away.

When Juniper got her letter, her mother was hesitant to let her go. However, she knew Juniper could handle herself very well. She let Juniper go to Hogwarts.

Most of River’s childhood was spent surrounded by animals of varying sorts. Large stout horses and cows, towering over the little girl, and smaller animals like sheep and dogs, cats and mice. That was probably her favourite part of growing up on a farm, at least while it lasted. While they were not her family's animals, she still got close to them, spending time with them every day. And the farmer who was leasing the land to keep the animals on would always let her ride the horses and take care of the different creatures. He would curiously watch as River reached the animals in a way he’d not seen before. Somehow her connection to them was always so special. It was rewarding, comforting, and most of all, it was home.

Though then came the time of moving away. Into a little house, in a neighborhood, with no place to keep animals of any kind. Sure enough it wasn’t far to the nearest farm, but the farmers weren’t as nice and welcoming as the one back home. This change was probably one of the hardest to cope with when desperately attempting to settle into a new home. She had her family, of course, but friends weren’t really her specialty. Her parents would constantly have to decline her requests of adopting a cat, which was River searching for something to feel a real connection to, like how she felt before. Though their reasons for declining were always that they didn’t have the space, time or money to keep a pet in the house.
None of this got any easier when it, by the end, was just River and her father. She felt quite alone, and quite desperate for someone. Just someone. Whether animal or human it didn’t matter. She just didn’t want to keep feeling the level of loneliness that consumed her days.
Going to Hogwarts helped slightly. She got to keep her mind on other things, and now at least she had people to reach out to when she’d need someone. Still that feeling of missing something lingered.

One day, a letter from her father arrived. He’d been keeping something secret from her while she was away, and in the letter he explained how he’d worked hard to save money so River could get that pet she’d been wanting for so very long. As soon as the opportunity would show itself, she’d make her way to the menagerie, butterflies flapping around in her stomach.
She was slightly overwhelmed entering the store. She’d always wanted a cat after their late cats, though when she saw the other animals in the store she became more unsure than she’d ever been with her wish to own a cat. It didn’t take long before she caught eye contact with a small ball of fluff in the corner. A little sunset coloured owl, with soft looking feathers sat there staring at her. He hopped a little closer and cocked his little head, and suddenly she’d made up her mind. It was this little owl she wanted.

Considering her ability to easily connect with animals throughout her entire life, it didn’t take long before the newly named Sir Little-Hoot and River had become best friends. Sure enough, the little guy didn’t seem too intelligent, but he was quick at picking up little tricks. Eventually it got to a point when Little-Hoot would barely be on his own, as he’d much rather spend his time on River’s shoulder, snuggled up near the crook of her neck surrounded by soft warm locks of red hair. And in return for taking care of him, the little owl would be of help for River too. Not only delivering her post, but also fetching her things when she’d ask him, or helping her look for her lost hair ties when her eye-level was not enough of a vantage point. It wasn’t like the two of them could talk, or communicate in that sense, though their ability to work together grew and became stronger with time. And now there is a strong sense of understanding between the two of them.

His first year was traumatic. Jorah was nearly kidnapped by half giants and stabbed in the back with a knife. Some nights he tosses and turns in his sleep, recalling the horrors of that dreadful dance. The clamor of screams ringing on his ears, the bitter smoke stinging his eyes and filling what was left of his lungs before every sensation is replaced with the sharp stinging of a knife sliding its way between his rib cage. This was the foundation of Jorah’s PTSD. Since that night, he would become hyperaware of his surroundings, Jorah had no intention of getting stabbed in the back again.
When entering a room Jorah, refused to sit with his back to the door. Back to the corner and able to observe the room with its entrances and exits is what he now preferred. If a sudden sound were made, his head might swiveled a little too fast in the direction of the disturbance. Changes in his environment needed to be investigated, he needed to be aware, he needed to be prepared.
This sort of preparedness made his appearance look stiff. Though Jorah joked frequently and seemed relaxed in his face, his muscles were tense and ready to react if needed. This could easily go unnoticed since Jorah was naturally physically fit and kept his body in peak physical condition for quidditch. However, if you paid close enough attention you might notice the bouncing of his knee or the nervous cracking of his knuckles and fingers.
His newfound awareness came with some benefit. Jorah could anticipate threats sooner and react accordingly. This was needed even more following last year’s Quidditch season. Threats abounded between whether it be opposing players out for blood or a rogue bludger. Though getting knocked off his broom wasn’t as painful as being stabbed, Jorah was tired of it. He found himself flying more carefully. Skirting the periphery of the Quidditch pitched so he could keep and an eye on his surroundings. If targeted, he would have more time to react and dodge incoming attacks. During quidditch practice he began to develop a sixth sense, like a Spidey sense, his Moose sense. Direct bludger hits became near misses as he dove and swerved through the air. Jorah’s paranoia drove him to develop a peculiar flying pattern. Always concerned he was being targeted, he now flew in a random zigzagging nature making him harder to track and harder to hit.

After graduating from Hogwarts, Kels' good grades landed him a few different career opportunities to choose from. He had distinguished himself as a master potioneer, but like many before him he gravitated towards the healing arts. It was what he had known most of his life, he'd be following in the footsteps of his mum. He had a history with sick people, had seen a litany of pain and suffering shuffle through their doors as a last resort. He liked that magic had given him a way to actually heal people when they needed it, it was a satisfaction he would be robbed of if he didn't become a healer.

He brushed a lot of people the wrong way during his continued training. While he was accepted into high caliber programs that taught him healing on the cutting edge, he still often found himself out of place. He was too dirty, too rude, and too loud. For the tenure of his internship, he made the professional healers live through their own personal hell. No matter how well he meant, he was not one of them and was little more than tolerated. Tolerated because his healing ability was nearly incomparable. Though he garnered no points for bedside manner, he became the healer than one went to when no one could figure out what was wrong. When faced with an actual emergency, Kels would finally become terse and serious. With a sharp intellect and fearless confidence, he would stay with a patient for however long it took, and try whatever he thought would work. Needless to say, he had a good batting average.

His success gave him the opportunity to land a job that was far more befitting of him, working as an international mobile healer. Like Doctors Without Borders, they were dispatched to areas of great need to offer emergency medical care quickly. It was a bit emotionally taxing, but he also got a meaningful experience under his belt working under all sorts of conditions and with all kinds of people. Not only that, but his experience with non-humans was starting to pay off as well, and he was seen as one of the most versatile healers of the group, distinguishing himself yet again. It wasn't long into this stressful career that he saw the position of head nurse at his old school opened up, tempting him into applying for what was sure to be a much more relaxing job.

There are many things that go bump in the night. Many things that would like to bump into an innocent adolescent boy, Galton Lansdale. With the amount of sugar young Lansdale consumed on a day-to-day basis, the early lights-out of the dorms was much too early for the candy-wired youth. And so when the lights went out, Galton was left to stir and bump about.

Chief of those things to "bump" into Galton was the boy's own pet, Toad. A proud huntress of the Gryffindor Dorms, she would stalk her favorite prey with an electric enthusiasm. Her sharp claws and pointy teeth would find a soft spot amongst Galton's flesh, strike after strike. Though Galton was quite nimble in his everyday life, the dark rendered him as nimble as a log. And so he would endure the abuse, night after night.

Or so Toad had hoped. Galton was not one to take the punishment sitting idly by. If Toad had been paying attention she would have known that he'd already become apt at avoiding her strikes during shaving time, and this time would be no different. The nights were long, and filled with many opportunities to test his growing senses. Sure, he would pass out eventually, but until then, he spent each second on his toes. While his eyes may not be useful, his other senses would be.

Cats are quiet, but not completely silent. And better yet, many of the surfaces Toad interacted with would give and creak. This was the first clues that Galton would have for the direction of the assault. But just hearing was not enough. Lansdale took quite a few swats to the face from turning to look at the huntress as she leapt at him. Many mornings were spent tending to the leftover scratch marks, the evidence of failure. And so his other senses began to fill in the needed gaps.

A subtle waft of kitty dinner, the feel of moving air, awareness of how to move his body without fear in the dark - all components to turning the tides in this dark battle. Soon, Toad would be the one under attack. Her own attacks would be used against her!

A large bound, then a leap off a nearby dresser, and a subtle flick of her tail gave her away. Galton reached his hands out, sliding them to the felines torso to intercept his attacker. In an instant she was in his hands, arms pinned so they could no longer strike. And then Galton would launch an attack of his own. A free hand to scratch the felines neck or rump, a mouth to kiss the kitties head. Her playful hostility would lead into Galton's own playful snuggles. There are many things that go bump in the night, and now Galton was one of them.

The Dark Arts, or more specifically, Defense Against the Dark Arts, had always been an element of the Greystone household. Annette Greystone's career as an Auror meant that Royce always had a small stream of information about his mother's career. At any time, Royce could ask Annette about her work an receive a small story of some kind of encounter or adventure she experienced. From banshee encounters to evading trolls, Annette had no shortage of stories for her son. While Annette made a concerted effort to keep stories of dark wizards few and far between, the occasional battle would slip through and her son idolized her as a hero for them. From these stories, the first seeds of Royce's own career ambitions as an Auror were planted.

As he grew, Royce would often playfully imitate his mother's stories in play. When alone he would journey through his house hunting for hidden hags and rogue werewolves, waving a simple carved stick around like a wand, living the imaginary life of an Auror the best he could with the knowledge he had. Charmed by her son's enthusiasm, Annette would give him her own "lessons". Some nights she would take him aside and show him a variety of simple spells, demonstrating the wand movement and helping him practice an incantation for harmless spells. While he was never allowed to touch his mother's actual wand, Royce made effective use of his favorite carved stick, casting imaginary spells, practicing the movements he was shown, and developing his incantations as he grew. His mother would give him feedback, praising him technique was correct and correcting where she could.

With Annette's passing, those familial lessons did as well. With his father becoming more reclusive on the subject of magic and with no other connection, Royce was forced to make do where he could. Left behind in his mothers' possessions were a few books detailing spells and magical creatures. Royce spent much of his free time in the year after his mothers' passing poring over those books, trying to make sense of them where he could.

It was rough going, many passages and spells would reference other spells from outside the text, assuming the reader would already know them. Many of the passages were slow to decipher the meaning of. Several passages were incomprehensible altogether. Still Royce persisted, waving his carved stick in the air, trying to copy the spells where he could, feeling out what the incantations could likely be and whispering them under his breath. His pronunciations and movements weren't always perfect, but he was grasping the feel for the spells wherever possible. A push in the right direction from a more experienced with, wizard, or Hogwarts Professor would be enough to correct the small errors he was making.

Arriving at Hogwarts and being sorted into Ravenclaw caused Royce to change his habits significantly. While he expressed a carefree attitude in the Muggle school he attended, he threw himself more earnestly into his studies. While courses such as History of Magic were a continued battle to keep focusing on, Defense Against the Dark Arts were a continued passion. With the gaps in his understanding being filled in as his education progressed, Royce was able to begin fixing the small errors in his practicing and draw upon the knowledge gleaned form his mother to excel in learning the spells, even looking ahead to courses learned by higher years in order to progress even faster, bolstering his personal confidence and feeding further into his desire to learn more.
