if you knew Ophelia in her first three years at Hogwarts, you would've seen how loud and confident she seemed to be. She was passionate about her academics, and determined to do things right, and to be the best where she could be, talking to everyone and trying to make new friends everywhere she went to.

She was just playing with her parents inside the flat. Her mother was blowing soap bubbles in the air, and she was jumping up with excitement, popping them one by one. One of the bigger bubbles floated over to her hand, but as it landed on her skin, it didn't pop.
The 3-year-old Ophelia looked at the bubble with awe and poked it multiple times, trying to do so even with her nose and chin, but the bubble stayed firm. She tried to shake it off her arm, make it fall or slip on the floor, but the bubble stayed still. She sat down and held her arm a few centimeters above the ground, lowered it slowly, and as the bubble touched the floor, it popped.
Her father, who, along with her mother, was looking at her in astonishment and was also speechless, picked her up and took a thorough look at her, checking for abnormalities. “No bubble would stay unpopped for 2 minutes when touching skin,” was what her mother had said. Ophelia didn’t understand the weird, concerned, and astonished looks her parents gave her; afterall, it was just a bubble.
Years passed, and her parents decided to keep this a secret, telling themselves what Ophelia had thought: “It was just a bubble.” No, yes, maybe they were really just overreacting. Nothing was wrong with their daughter; something must’ve been wrong with that bubble, but not with their daughter. They wouldn’t accept that! It was just a bubble. They didn’t tell anyone about it, and they didn’t even tell Ophelia about it when she grew older. They didn’t want to think about it, to live with the knowledge that their daughter wasn’t normal.

Ophelia Vanderbilt
Ophelia grew up in a loving household; her parents loved to travel, and they made sure to show their first child the world she was going to grow up in. Traveling with a 2-year-old was certainly exhausting, but it was worth the fun they had, visiting the famous attractions in multiple countries, including their home-country.
Ophelia had the attention of the whole family since she could remember. It was tiring for her, of course, being the oldest grandchild on her dad's side and the second-oldest on her mom's, but she couldn't deny the fact that she sometimes enjoyed being coddled. Her whole family lived in Iran, so the times when she could feel free of the hovering and visiting this and that person were on school days.
Fortunately, since both her parents had to work, she was left in the kindergarten for hours, playing with the teachers and other children her age. Years later, when Ophelia was 7 years old, she started primary school. As much as she liked kindergarten and preschool, which she'd visited the previous year, she didn't want to leave her parents on her first day of primary school.
It took lots of reassurance for her to at least try to go in the building and find new friends. At first, she found it difficult to make new friends because some of the children already knew each other from years ago, but after the first two weeks, she finally found two friends with whom she really got along.
Her brother, who was around three years younger than her, was the one who received most of the family's attention after he was born, and Ophelia was grateful for that. She loved her brother probably more than she loved her parents, feeling more protective of him as they grew up, but only just enough to not make him feel protected or hovered, like she had felt when she was his age with their parents.
Their parents let her brother, Ilia, do things they were sceptical about her doing when she was his age, because he was the second child and they now had some experience with their first, knowing what to be concerned about and what not. Her brother grew up to be the opposite of her; while she was an introverted, calm, and collected person, Ilia proved to be a ball of energy who radiated rays of sunshine.
Despite being opposites, they had a quite lovely relationship and protected each other emotionally, because none of them would dare stand up against their parents when they were frustrated and angry, but they would be with and comfort each other afterwards.
Ophelia's father was a martial artist in Taekwondo. Due to that and his experiences, he always pressured Ophelia and Ilia to do any kind of martial arts so that they could protect themselves. After Ophelia tried Karate and Taekwondo, despite having no prior interest in martial arts, she was forced to choose between professionally practicing karate, which she immediately decided she didn't like after the trial lesson, or Kickboxing. So, at the age of nine, going to another trial lesson in kickboxing, she found the sport very amusing. Her kicks were much stronger than her jabs and punches, but she did those just as good (okay, maybe she kicked better than she punched). She was especially good in roundhouse kicks and tornade kicks. What they learnt each lesson was different, no matter how many white-belts or brown-belts there were (the club, also teaching Karate, used the latter's belt system for Kickboxing, as well).

year one
Ophelia doesn't like mean people, and she tries not be mean herself. When with strangers, she's often calm and quiet, while when she's hanging out with people she feels comfortable with, she's louder and intentionally tries to annoy them; of course, it then depends on the person, if they get annoyed quickly or not.
Ophelia likes to help people when they're feeling any negative emotion; she's a good listener, but she has no clue how to comfort others, so she often only listens (most of the time, that's what the other person needs, anyway) or hugs them (that's what she does when her younger brother needs her).
However, when she's feeling negative emotions, she doesn't want to be approached (unless it's a must or the other person is just there and doesn't talk to her). Although she would like a presence next to her, when she feels down, she doesn't want to talk to anyone, in fear of breaking down while doing so. She tends to calm herself down by fidgeting with her fingers when she's scared, anxious, or angry.
Speaking of anger, Ophelia can control that emotion. She doesn't yell at others, if there's a need to do so, instead of yelling, she speaks firmly (not what her parents would've done), and that sometimes (most of the time) makes her brother listen to her more.
If Ophelia gets frustrated, it's sometimes at herself. When she feels that way, it's best not to approach her too much (of course, you can come to her if you need anything.... just not more than twice...).
year two
Lia talks a lot. That just became her personality when she got comfortable enough in Hogwarts and the new world she'd gotten introduced to. She got louder, but still got overwhelmed when people yelled around her, even if it wasn't directed toward her.
In her second year, Lia got bolder, getting into some physical fights. Some of them might've been because someone had a problem with her, some for confusion; but she still kind of enjoyed the adrenaline and the fact that she could still bottle the emotions up and get them out not through words but through fists.
She still helped others, her grades still good, and she still spent time with her friends. She just talked more about others, probably resulting to those friends to not actually know her; merely just because she didn't talk about herself.

having been doing kickboxing for more or less three years, Ophelia had gotten stronger, faster, and more precise. Of course, the whole thing was supposed to be so she could defend herself, and so that she could prove to those idiotic and old-fashioned men in her family that women could be better and stronger than they were.
But in Hogwarts? Suddenly, she thought of not all of it being there for self-defense. It could be there to fight others, of course, she didn't want to start a fight; but she sure as hell could end it. She didn't like being weak, feeling weak, or looking weak. She'd rather live as a strong villainess than die as a weak heroine.
But fighting didn't always end clean. It wasn't all like training; the real world didn't let you wear your gear before a fight started. The fights would get dirty, someone might've ended up with a few injuries, scratches, sprained wrists. Maybe if Lia took it a bit far, or let her frustrations out on walls, trees, or the ground, maybe she'd also have scars on her knuckles. But, as unusual as that would be for her, she wouldn't be surprised if her mask finally slipped and those events happened.

Looks like the devil, but is an angel in disguise. Ophelia has a resting bitch face, mostly because of her naturally heavy-lidded and sleepy gaze. Her almond eyes make her look composed and indifferent, a quiet opposite of her actual personality.Slightly downturned lips make her expression seem unimpressed. Her upper lip is defined, while the fuller lower one gives her mouth a soft shape that's a contrast to her eyes.
Her style is a lazy, Y2K one. She'd either style herself thoughtfully, depending on where she's going, or she'd just put a random thing on. But she still loves that about her, and due to that, doesn't bother to style her Gryffindor uniform very much.
