𝑬 𝑨 𝑹 𝑳 𝒀 ● 𝑳 𝑰 𝑭 𝑬 | Jam was born from a wizard father and muggle mother. She had lived in a small but charming town in England all her life, rarely travelling unless it’s to the next town just a car ride away. The girl was never really close with her mother, but shared quite a tight-knit relationship with her father. He often spent his time telling her stories of his time at Hogwarts, keeping her excited for her letter to arrive.

Jam was closest to her grandmother and her older cousin, who lived with her. She had a sister but she was a few years younger and the gap in their age forged a gap in their relationship as well. Her grandmother would go out with Jam all the time to the market, sharing stories of her travels and life working in several different countries in her lifetime. This soon became a dream for the young girl, hoping to follow in her grandmother’s footsteps and travel the world.

Her older cousin was like a sister to her. She knew everything there was to know about Jam, no matter how reserved Jam tried to be to everyone else. Her cousin was the only person the Ravenclaw girl could trust with her secrets, and the older girl would always understand. They did almost everything together; camping, baking, grocery shopping etc. If there was one person Jam could call home, it was her older cousin.

Jam had known all her life that one day she would be going to Hogwarts, but that didn’t stop her from looking out for her first instance of magic. It only happened when she went on a camping trip with my cousins on the banks of the River Thames in London for the first time when she was 9. She considered this to be quite late in her life since her father had known he was magical since he was 5. The place was quite deserted and not many muggles were around since it was just after winter. The only 2 tents set up were on the opposite side of the banks and the campers were all inside their tents. Jam’s cousins were setting up the tent when dinner time rolled around so they instructed her to light a fire and cook the noodles that they had brought.

Jam was sure she knew how to light a fire because how hard could it be? It seemed the matches in the box we brought were faulty though, as none of them could spark a flame. Her cousins were calling out relentlessly from the back about how hungry they were, after hearing that Jam hadn’t even started cooking yet. The girl tried to explain how the matches weren’t working, but the complaints never eased. In frustration, Jam threw the box of matches on the floor. Just as the box made contact with the floor, the makeshift stove caught fire and it burnt bright and orange. Before Jam could process the situation, her cousins reappeared and started to cook, causing Jam to stay silent about the sure incident of magic until she got home.

𝑺 𝑪 𝑯 𝑶 𝑶 𝑳 ● 𝑳 𝑰 𝑭 𝑬 | Jam was only a first-year, and she made sure to start off on the right foot. She read every textbook from start to finish before the classes started to familiarise herself with the year’s syllabus. The girl went to her classes on time, never letting herself to be late as if it would kill her. She tried to complete all her homework with the best of efforts, no matter how simple and trivial it seemed. Jam wanted very badly for the attitude to carry over for the next six years of her school life.

Jam was also determined to make a lot of new friends, but she was somehow drawn to the more anti-social, shy types. They were always more interesting and relatable than the loud kids. She had learnt this back at home when she was sent to public school. Jam was always trying to explore, though, and was open to any kind of person who comes her way.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR THREADS

“Her skin is just like porcelain”
------------------------

---Face: Pale, making it extremely obvious when she blushes
---Eyes: Wide doe eyes, the colour of coffee
---Nose: Quite flat, gets red very easily
---Mouth: Thin and has a rosy hue
---Hair: Long and brown, slightly curly at the ends. Her bangs stop at her eyebrows
---Frame: Jam stands with her back oddly straight, like she never relaxes
------------------------
“Her back is always so straight it’s almost disturbing”
------------------------

Casual Standing: Jam stands with her feet close together and usually with her hands tucked fully into her coat pockets.
Casual Sitting: Jam sits with her legs crossed over each other, leaning slightly forward.
Happy: Her smile would usually be wide, pushing her eyes up and revealing the fat underneath them. Sometimes she would clap her hands quickly or jump a couple times in joy.
Sad: Her eyes would grow misty with tears and the area around her eyes and nose would become red. Her lips would curl down into a frown.
Stressed: Her face would lose some of its colour as her brows furrowed with concentration.
Annoyed: Her lips would be pressed into a straight line as she supported her cheeks with her hand, looking away to hide multiple eye rolls.
Angry: Her face would grow red and her body would tense up. She would continually crack her knuckles to relieve some of her anger.

“She never doesn’t look happy, for some reason?”
------------------------

---Observant Jam notices the littlest things, especially emotions that other people try hard to hide.
---Kind Jam always forgives easily and extends a helping hand to anyone she comes across who may need it.
---Cheerful Jam always has an extra spring in her step and a smile in her face, very rarely revealing any negative emotions.
---Guarded Jam avoids being vulnerable with other people, and often changes the subject when it gets too emotional and personal.
---Perfectionism Jam always has to be the top at everything, and beats herself up when she falls short of anything.
---Irrational Jam doesn’t think her actions through, and sometimes she offends other people with her words or actions.
------------------------
“She wears autumn clothes all year round!”
------------------------

School Robes: Jam likes her robes in average quality; she doesn’t want her clothes to make her stand out from other people, so she usually just buys whatever most people are buying.
School Casual: Jam always keeps her causal clothes in school neat, but sometimes pairs it with sweaters or sleeves.
Athletic: Jam wears old basketball jerseys that she collected back in the muggle world. The sleeve holes were always big and long, but the jerseys were extremely comfortable to play in.
Fancy: Jam likes wearing flowy dresses with several layers and styles her hair in a half-up half-down hairdo complete with a bow.
Other: Jam experiments with a LOT of clothing styles when she’s not wearing her usual sweaters and cardigans!

---Grades: “Her grades are never bad!” “I swear I’ve only seen her study once or twice!” “Do you think she’ll tutor me?”
---Opinions: “She seems totally fake!” “Why does she not have more friends?” “She seems really sweet from what I hear!”
---Behavior: “Why’s she always smiling?” “She has like a thousand hobbies! Where does she find the time?”
---Appearance: “Her skin is so smooth!” “Her nose gets so red, she looks like rudolf.” “Her hair looks so luscious, I’m jealous…”
