Ashes was born in London at 6:48 AM on the 19th of October 2010.

For the first 7 years of her life, Ashes spent her time daydreaming. She wished for anything: for a portal to appear and take her to Wonderland, for her to suddenly gain teleportation, or to be accepted into Hogwarts, school for witchcraft and wizardry. She felt that if she didn't obtain some sort of unique power or special talent that she would blend in too much, lost beneath the feet of powerful sorcerers.

Her parents were both wizards. Ashes's mother attended Mahoutokoro, and was a star student there. On the other hand, Ashes's father attended Ilvermorny, where he learned some... unique tricks. The Drowning legacy was known for being particularly good with water-related charms.

Ashes had no friends for most of her life. The ones she did make didn't last long, as her parents would scare them away. When she was seven, however, she got a new little sister. Kara was cute and squishy. Even when she grew up, she was not annoying like many other siblings. Ashes vowed to give Kara a peaceful life. She had heard of what sometimes happened in the magical world. Though she hadn't even gotten her acceptance letter yet, Ashes knew she had to protect Hogwarts. Even if it was for more selfish reasons. If evil wizards and witches ever attacked, Ashes could sacrifice anything to join them. If angels with heavenly glows decended from the pure white clouds above, Ashes could sacrifice anything to learn from them. And finally, if it came down to life or death, Ashes would do anything to live another day. Anything to fulfil her dream of standing out, of being recorded in history books, whether or not she was portrayed as a villain.

Ashes's personality comes from sitting at home a day to watch over both her sister and her cat, Potato. She is gentle, kind, and independent. Ashes learned to read music so that she could sing for her loved ones. And with the little amount of free time she had, Ashes read and wrote until her fingers were numb. She was talented, that was for sure, but not talented enough for her to think that she was going to make it into the history books yet.


The first time she performed wandless magic was when she was 8. She had almost given up hope that she would ever display signs of magic and be accepted into Hogwarts.

Ashes was playing in the vast meadow outside her house. It was winter, and so a snowy blanket had fallen over the grass just a day before. Though Ashes hadn't noticed it yet, the snow below her feet was melting as the soles of her shoes touched the ground. She hadn't gone far before the squeals of delight from her parents startled her. They were watching from the house and saw it all. Ashes was hugged by her parents, and when she asked, "Huh? What's going on??" They simply stepped aside to reveal the verdant trail of footsteps, all leading to Ashes.

She said nothing else, but for the rest of her day anyone could tell by the bright, warm aura around her that she was experiencing pure happiness.
