Avery was tall for his age, a trait from his mothers’ side of the family. He was pale, dark and svelte, with sharp cheekbones, thin lips and defined brows that reinforced his ability to send looks that could kill with his dark ebony eyes. He was not dissimilar to his elder brothers who had attended hogwarts years prior, with steely eyes and button nose that sat well on the foundations of a strong jaw and smooth, healthy, cheeks that have been known to flush in truly rare occasions. He is averagely built and appears defter than most, opting to leave the heavy lifting to the house elves in favour for carefully considered, yet quick, movements.

𝕊 𝕋 𝕐 𝕃 𝔼 ── The life of privilege also comes with burdens of its own; image. Avery Leveret has never been seen in anything that didn't require ironing, that was too loose on his form so as to look scruffy, too small so as to look lacking and anything that was beyond shades of blacks, beiges, browns, whites and the occasional pastels, so as to stave off any idea that he was common. His uniform is always perfected; his robes never scuffed, his shirt never slipped and his tie was never loose or knotted incorrectly. He is always clean, his hair is always tamed and his smile is forever lethal. It is clear to most he meets that much care and attention goes into his visage, trained into him from an early age; paired with his expensive taste and penchant for formal shirts and typically vintage style of dress, he had the signs of propriety woven into his very fabric.

An innate affinity for spell casting ensorcells Avery, thus he seeks to explore and perfect combative and even martial magics wherever he can. Perfection is not a goal, but rather a need; one so content with solitude doesn't require the approval of the outside world but instead attains it for himself.

Hard-faced and frank, Avery is known to step on toes if it means he is one step ahead. He garners a reputation that inspires both hatred and awe for he is known to have many enemies across Hogwarts and many admirers yet still. He is a known, and vocal Blood Purist.

Personality: Avery is typically a low-energy kind of student, but when he discovers topics that interest him it is as though he is renewed and he very quickly finds a way to sink all his time. Avery has a keen mind for consuming information, having lived in the shadow of elder brothers he has an unwieldy desire to succeed them; to be the best of them and this often impresses upon his peers whether he intends it or not. Whilst he is slow to trust, once that has been earned it shall seldom be lost for a boy that can't make friends very well should certainly know how to keep the ones that he does bring on side.

Avery has been described as particularly wily, which gives him a decent sense of most social or other kinds of situations, but there is a flash of cunning in his eyes when he’s committed to an aim of which he has plenty; that Slytherin ambition ever present in every move he makes.

RP Hooks:
-The Leveret name is infamous following a publicised trial in the Daily Prophet. Could it well be that this boy was of bad ilk?
-He is wily and quick, and rumour has it he's not one to turn up his nose at the opportunity to fly.
-The black haired boy doesn't seem to socialise much beyond the confines of the common room or library, he always seems to be doing something and so is rarely found hanging out; he instead sets his mind on achieving.

Born to two respectable lines of Pureblood families, Avery Leveret is a privileged and prejudiced young boy. The saying; ‘Two sides to the same coin.” applies to both, he thought. The Nordens, a respectable and prestigious family and The Leverets, a family that, whilst exceptional, has had a reputation for being quite zealous in their purist beliefs. He was the third child born to the marriage of Cadence Mallory Norden and Willard Calder Leveret.

His family live in an opulent Georgian estate in Bath, Somerset, England, called Moredell Manor, which sports vast and bountiful gardens, a pristine collection of various antiques gathered over the years and a distinct generational wealth touch on almost every aspect of their home, that Avery had once called a castle. It was owned by his mother’s side, but it became the family home when the Norden heiress married her lesser; who was not as well known or well-placed within English wizarding society.

The Leverets were originally from France, and had only been in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for a few generations; and whilst they had built great wealth in France; their move here hindered their ‘standing’ in more ways than one, as rumour surrounds their strange departure from their ancestral home. Privately, the Leverets have a dark history that is only suspected; as one does not question the nature of another's birth when they share your circles; up until they are forced to…

The Leverets now have a marred and blackened reputation, as Avery’s father was sentenced to a number of years in Azkaban for his service to a dark wizard. Much like his mother, Avery’s father held a number of positions in the British Ministry of Magic; most notably in the Department of Magical Artefacts but he held a position in the Department of Magical Transportation most recently. He was found to be using his position to help smuggle cursed artefacts with a notable dark wizard, which led to a confrontation where a Half-Blood lost their life. Willard managed to avoid a life sentence in Azkaban, due to the skill of his wife Cadence; who had served in the Wizengamot for a number of years, up until this event occurred.

Cadence was removed from the judiciary when this conflict of interest came up, and her political rivals managed to manoeuvre the necessary pieces that would see her removal, guaranteed. Out of love for her husband, an innate desire to free him and a burning thirst for vengeance, she set her mind to doing what she could to see the case thrown out.

Although the trial was kept under lock and key, it is possible that information pertaining to this has spread through other mediums such as gossip or rumour; as such things often did in the ultra-class. This was especially the case as their third child, Avery, had just been born and his father and her husband was notably absent and out of the picture, which left Cadence to manage the family affairs and raise their three children at the same time. Their eldest sons were named Athur and Barrow, and both were 12 and 11 at the time of Avery’s birth, so they were conscious enough to understand what was going on during this period of turbulence.

It is said that evidence went back and forth regarding witness statements on Mr Leveret's claims of being under the effects of the Imperio curse; but what really tipped it was the revelation that the last cast from his wand was the forbidden blasting curse 'Confringo' following a Prior Incantato examination. This conflicted with a witness statement that prosecution claimed he had heard Willard use an Unforgivable Curse moments before his capture. This discrepancy was a notable point in the trial, as it shifted the attention onto the dark wizard in question and strengthened the Imperio defence, but not enough to save him from jail time. Willard was charged for being an accessory, with a commuted sentence.

Cadence had done as best a job as she could, given everything that was on her shoulders. Their staffing decreased notably, due to the loss of two decent wages, to the point that their house elf Kipney couldn’t quite keep on top of things. She had two teen boys who, as they grew older, seemed more and more curious as to their father and his history. It was like fighting a giant tidal wave, keeping them from the same path their father had taken, the same friends and habits he had made. This took a heavy toll on their schooling and general development, as well as Cadence herself who grew slightly overbearing and control freak-ish.

Avery grew up rather ignorant to his family history, but his brothers would routinely cause a stir up with their mother. Avery’s childhood was not one that was particularly exciting, as he felt that he was being cushioned from everything and it didn’t help that they lived far from other wizarding world children; but Cadence had often invested a lot of time into Avery, seeing him as some kind of redemption or tool to be used to fix their reputation. She would take Avery along to as many pureblood events as she could get them invites, with the help of her family and extensive network of connections to weave a web of doubt over the trial outcome, and ‘guilt’ of her husband.

The best memories he has are those that relate to his much older brothers, as he always found them inspiring and so always wished to impress them, this was especially the case in the years his father wasn’t present. He often dreamed of duelling and beating them both, as they both tended to do after their 17th birthdays within the manor boundaries. Once, he saw them slinging spells and hexes at each other from broom-back, and it has since been his ultimate desire. As he grew up, the relationship with them soured as Cadence distanced them, telling Avery that it was imperative that he did not become as infatuated with duelling power as they had been or else he would end up like his father, a now callous and distant man; broken by the untold stories of Azkaban. He had served his sentence, and had since returned home where he stayed most of the time, refraining from any public endeavours and receding from view; allowing Cadence to continue in managing their day to day affairs and restoring their reputation for the benefit of their children.

Arthur and Barrow seemed to be just fine, the former was an assistant of some kind for the ministry and the latter was a saleswizard that toured across the world for different Quidditch events. Avery was confident that he could make it too, but the Damocles’ sword was held high above, waiting to sweep down and fell him. He often struggled with the question; would he fall down the same path his father took? At least his mother was back on track, having returned to a ministry job of her own but not in the capacity and grandeur of her previous posting in the Wizengamot, and instead utilising her distinctive skills in mediating and navigating stressful situations, and her families’ predisposition for memory magics and carrying out duties within the Department for Magical Accidents and Catastrophes as a senior obliviator.

When Avery was seven, his brothers had both left school and had left the family home. This wasn't to do, for Avery always had to be doing something; even if it meant getting into trouble, and now he didn't even have the two people that he would have so often gotten into trouble with!

After they had moved out, Avery went looking through their rooms; for he had nothing better to do. He found that Arthur had left his broom in the house, having given up his previous passion of flying in lieu of his job as an assistant to a wizard in the ministry. His brother kept it high, as he was told to by his mother, on a plaque above the stairs alongside his other Quidditch ribbons and trophies, but that only presented itself as a challenge to be conquered by Avery. He began to climb the stair bannister, reaching for it with his short arms, until he slipped. His tumble was sure to break bones or worse, for the manor staircase was grand and tall, but it wasn't until he managed the courage to open his eyes that Avery discovered that his fall had been magically cushioned and he had floated just above the ground at the feet of his glowering mother. She lost her anger as fast as she had gained it, simply hugging the boy and exclaiming that whilst he was foolish, he was indeed a Wizard.

The Leveret Manor has always been a grand, palatial home that has struck those that had the privilege to visit it. The gothic country home fits right in with the country around Bath, where many other stately homes were built for the royals and their nobles. Bath seemed to attract much of the aristocracy, even since the Georgian times. Early rumblings in the wizarding world have suggested that this manor and those it belongs to are an old family indeed.

Old families often held conservative beliefs, regarding their own self-importance; and with that they only garnered more and more interest as their popularity grew and time went on. The family themselves, were not new to the idea of the rising and falling tide that was the Wizarding Worlds' developments, and they often found themselves on what some could consider to be the 'wrong' side of history. Certainly, the Leveret Manor was a symbol of the reputation that the family once held, even if they did not hold it in the present day. To most, in the public eye, they were all but spurned but to those closest to the family it remained a sanctuary to gather with friends and socialise with those of similar standing or belief.

The socialite Cadence Leveret was crucial in both the maintenaince of the family name and its estate, following the incarceration of her husband, Willard.

It boasts many rooms that have no purpose at all or many purposes, and so it was often daunting when it was empty. It has been known to host lavish balls, to put up friends in need and to host events in the summer, though whether or not such will continue now that Willard is back, remains to be seen.
LEVERET____
NORDEN
The Leveret Family is of French origin, and only arrived in England within the last three to four generations. In France, the Leveret name was tied to a reputation of esteemed curse-breakers and aurors that served within multiple iterations of the French Ministry of Magic. For a reason, unknown to the wider public, the family used their monumental generational wealth and emigrated to England. A dark secret lay at the heart of this move, which covers up an awful history of various crimes against muggles and non-purebloods within France; which was evaded with careful crisis management and the use of higher societal connections that people of their standing were commonly exposed to. Crimes were never levied upon them, nor any blame publicly cast as they decried any attempts at saying otherwise as grievous slander and found ways to keep such from reaching the court of public opinion. Willard’s generation of the family, were much less fortunate…
The Norden Family are an old line, known for their exceptional genealogy and history of prodigious pureblood witches and wizards. They have always resided in England and have built up vast wealth. Many would say that they are members of the ultra class; not related to any royalty but certainly amongst their circles. Their wealth bought ownership of a number of vast estates, including the current ‘Leveret’ Manor which was the name that it took on when Cadence Norden married Willard Leveret. Its prior name was “Moredell Manor” and it is often referred to as this, especially since the imprisonment and later release of the current Leveret patriarch, which caused some careful distancing to occur.

Historically, the Nordens favoured memory magic and often worked as Obliviators for the British Ministry of Magic, though recently they have been known to hold various roles in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. A handful of Nordens were members of the Wizengamot, or enforcers for the Improper Use of Magic Office. Under the current Matriarch, Ordelia Norden, the Norden name has maintained a pristine reputation of being cool-headed and reserved, and on the right side of history. Up until, of course, the imprisonment of her eldest daughters’ partner; had Ordelia the Wise misstepped in allowing her daughter's betrothal? Certainly, but time and careful crisis management would repair their reputation, surely.

The Norden portion of the family 'fell into line' so to speak, over the scandal. Ordelia had a son, named Derrick, who in his own time started his own family; thereby avoiding the scrupulous gaze of the public falling onto him by relocating to France during the period of the trial to avoid any fall-out heading in the direction of his own duelling team. There, he formed an unlikely relation and soon had a family of his own to care for. Whilst the family held secrets of their own, that which wasn't a secret was their care and love for their daughter; Remedy; who was an exception to all rules; much like her cousin in some regard.

28.4cm, Chestnut Wood and Unicorn Hair, Rather Bendy
A wand was to be an extension of the self, a conduit for one’s arcane ability. And whilst each wand was a marvel to him, his and his pairing to it did not make for a conducive and fruitful match. Lengthy was his, a sign of flairful casting, of which his; was not. The boy yearned for a companion to understand, and he hadn’t found it on that on that fateful day.
Streaks of golden brown run through the slim wand, grainless and flawless. In his hand, it looked a formidable sight; matching the dignified and graceful visage expected of he, the boy of promise, though if only he knew it held him in low esteem; as it was hardy in character and resistant to his ambitions. Time would claim a victor.
Reserved was Leveret, in his continued patience in accommodating it, for how it looked was as far as their shared qualities went. His wand refused him often, and left much to be done by its caster. Thankfully, Avery was keen, keener than this; that which didn’t capture and exemplify the terrifying power he knew he had in him. A proclivity for animals and plants was not him, though it certainly helped in boosting his Herbology grades; for without he'd have surely disappointed.
It is claimed that this wand was attracted to charismatic and honourable wizards, that show a great dexterity with magic and whilst that much was true, its wood was flaky and disloyal; resisting him at every turn. Though he could be thankful that it was paired with a core so pure. A gleaming unicorn hair signified a shining resilience and partiality to just wizards was true enough in his case, as Avery was not one to let slights go unanswered, it wasn’t in him; the vengeful and callous part of him yearned to see the world put right; his world, put right.
