I don't have a train of thought. I have 7 trains on 4 tracks, all narrowly avoiding each other when the paths cross, all the passengers are screaming and there's that annoyingly calm female conductors voice in the background.

Core:
WampusHair
ReducioThis core caused the wand to choose a Wizard in tune with their emotions and skilled with their mind. Irina was incredibly empathetic for her age, almost always able to see how people were feeling and what they might be thinking. The core was less famously known for picking one with charisma and good at being a leader. Irina had a very large and usually kind presence, so charisma was a tick. But she had never really been a leader. She enjoyed the spotlight but never forced herself into it.Wood Type:
Reed WoodReducioReed Wood suggested a confident character in both speech and actions. It usually bonded with someone who was protective of their friends and firm in their beliefs. This was an accurate description of Irina - she was incredibly stubborn in what she believed, an attribute that was sometimes her downfall. Her mum often said that only a mountain troll could shift her. And growing up in a close family had led her to become very protective over anyone she felt close to. Flexibility:
UnyieldingReducioIt was basic wand lore that the flexibility of the wood hinted at the owner's adaptability and willingness to change. Irina was a stubborn old kneazle, but even so it had been a hard truth to accept just how stubborn she was. When moving house, she had taken longest to settle in and adapt to the new change. And when it came to being told she was wrong, you might as well tell the sky to stop being blue. Even if she knew she was wrong, she would not accept it - another shortcoming of hers.Length:
12 inchesReducioThe longer the wand, the more dramatic and lively the witch/wizard. Well, that was Irina to a T. Irina was very loud and incredibly confident, always smiling and trying to make new friends. She was incredibly forward, occasionally overwhelming people who preferred the quiet life with her exuberant nature. It made complete sense that the wand that chose her should be longer than average . . . she was more wild than the average person.

HistoryBloodlineReducio
The Shevel Family were not well known, nor where they a large family. They had a small manor house and a small portion of land. But their most treasured possession was the inconsistent trait of metamorphmagus (and an old house-elf by the name of Dookey, who had been around for about 3 generations). The metamorphmagus gene couldn’t be traced and had no discernable pattern, though some of the family believed it only appeared in a pureblooded child. The Family had continued to have a pureblood streak throughout most generations, not through pressure or desire for a pure line, but by circumstance that one or other of the heirs married another pureblood. It remained an important view that the family should choose out of love. However, there were, of course, a few with different ideologies.
Maeve Shevel (Irina’s Great-Grandmother) believed that the ‘gift’ of being a metamorphmagus should be treasured, leading her to become obsessed with marrying her 3 children to pureblooded spouses. Her desire became even more desperate when her brother married a muggle-born, leaving her heirs as the only pureblooded Shevels.
Her eldest never married, instead taking up a career in dragon taming and leaving the country to get as far away from her mother as possible. This led to being disowned from her parent's will. Her middle child (Irina's grandfather, Callahan) married a half-blood witch and was also disinherited. Maeve was running out of hope when her youngest son, Adelio, married a pureblood. It seemed to be in vain however, as his son, Ryker, showed no signs of having the ability. Maeve died believing there would never be another shape-shifting Shevel.
Callahan had 4 children (including their youngest, Lyndell, Irina's father) with his wife, Avyanna, none of whom married purebloods. Because Callahan and his sister had been removed from the will, the Shevel Manor, money, and all other property was written to go to Ryker in the case of his parent’s death. This meant that although Callahan wasn’t poor, he and Avyanna had to work hard to sustain their family.
When Lyndell and Amara had their first child, they realised she had inherited the metamorphmagus gene, even though she was half-blood (because of course, it didn't matter in the slightest). Despite the thrilling discovery, Adelio refused to write them back into the will, holding onto his mother's beliefs and refusing to share Ryker's heritage.ParentsAmara and Lyndell met in Hogwarts, Amara in Hufflepuff and Lyndell in Gryffindor. Neither really talked to one and other until 3rd Year when they became close friends. Their friendship lasted long after they left Hogwarts and they remained in close contact. It wasn't until a few years later, when Lyndell was in the middle of his Auror training and Amara had set up a small potion-brewing buisness, did they finally decide to start dating. During the 2 years they were dating, Amara's buisness flourished and became fairly succesful, whilst Lyndell passed his Auror training and became an Auror. Then, in December, they had a winter wedding and got married.
Only a few months into their marriage, Lyndell and a small group were trying to contain a werewolf on the full moon. Whilst attempting to prevent the werewolf from reaching a nearby muggle village, Lyndell was bitten. This caused many problems and difficulties for the couple, as Lyndell had to fight for weeks to keep his job as an auror whilst being bedridden and viciously scarred. Amara closed her shop for a while in order to supply him with more help and comfort and the pair moved from their fairly large house to a small and lonely cottage, in order to better protect people when Lyndell transformed.
After many months of haggling, Lyndell was allowed to keep his job due to his skill and the more relaxed approach to werewolves. Amara made the life altering decision to become an animagus, in order to aid in her husband's transformations. After a nearly a year, she was a registered animagus and was able to transform into a Sun-Bear, small but ferocious if provoked and perfectly representing her personality.
Despite her brave actions, Lyndell's condition was getting harder to manage, even with the help of Amara and the wolfsbane potion. Lyndell was taking more and more time off of work to recuperate as his mental health started dipping. Amara didn't know what to do . . . and then found out she was pregnant.
Although Lyndell didn't immediately recover, he found the transition easier to manage and was able to go back to work more often, fueled by the fact that he was going to be a father.
