Anna Blackrose | First Year | Ravenclaw

Anna was born in Loire Valley, a sweet little city in central France. Her maternal great grandfather was originally from England, from one of the old noble pureblood families. After moving to Loire Valley, he took on the name of Blackrose.

Anna’s mother, Madeline Blackrose, graduated from Beauxbatons Academy, and she signed up for a transfer exchange with England’s Ministry of Magic. That is where she met Anna’s father, Aiden Kross, who was just starting his career as an Auror. They got married and moved to Loire Valley, Aiden taking on the Blackrose name, and continued to work as an Auror for the French Ministry.

There on September 18th Anna was born. She was raised in a wizarding community, but Aiden wanted her to attend Hogwarts, so when Anna was only four they moved to St Albans Hertfordshire. It was very close to London and so Aiden transferred back to work there as an Auror. Madeline decided to stay at home and raise her daughter and take care of the household. She taught Anna everything she thought she should know as a young witch, raising her to be kind and just. Anna grew up sheltered by her mother. She only met a few other young witches and wizards, mainly children from her father’s colleagues who visited from time to time. Anna developed better relationship with members of the household. Winny, an old witch that was Anna’s nanny and helped Madeline around the house, Fletcher, also an old gardener. He and Winny were married but didn’t have children so they helped in raising Anna as their granddaughter. Her father played an important role in her upbringing, he always had candy on him, to cheer Anna up, and a spell or charm ready to cast, to make her happy. Anna also has cousins in France and they visit each other for holidays and birthdays. Anna’s family in France runs a small, respected business of raising and taking care of a herd of Abraxan horses, have done for generations. That is where most of their wealth comes form. Having grown up surrounded by them, Anna’s mother, Madeline wanted Anna to feel connected to her family in France and hence she bought two Abraxan foals, Noir and Lune. Their main caretakers are Fletcher and Madeline. Anna always loves to help, be it feeding them, brushing them or just keeping an eye on them as they prance on about the meadows surrounding their home. Madeline also taught Anna how to ride and fly on the foals, and is constantly teaching her about proper care for the horses and their habitat.

Due to all this Anna could appear to be spoiled. She has little to no knowledge of any bad things that might’ve happened, her perception of the world is swaddled in warmth and comfort. She is also quite stubborn, especially if she really wants something.

Her first instance of magic was when she was almost six. She was looking through a picture book, and saw a witch in beautiful purple robes. The color was so elegant and soft, and the next thing that happened is that her previously yellow dress was now the same color as the witch's robes. She was so excited she finally unlocked her magic so she ran to her mother, who when she finally understood what Anna was trying to say, was ecstatic. They surprised her father when he came back from work as well. Along with Winny and Fletcher they prepared a celebration, Aiden invited colleagues from work, and Madeline wrote so many letters to her family. Everyone was really proud of her.

Since she was born in September her Hogwarts letter arrived before her birthday. It was delivered by a beautiful brown and orange owl. Anna was so excited to finally get her letter, she set off tiny sparkles all around herself.

Clothes: Elegant muggle clothes, or witch robes for special occasions. In various shades of purple, with black or white accents.
