Dylan has always been a team player. Whether he is playing in his school's team or playing with his friends. He always cares for people around him. Maybe that is why he is such a good friend to have. When he was younger, he would take care that when they were playing games in groups, he would make sure that he was not rough with others. He knew that he was a big boy from beginning. He didn't want to hurt anyone and it would have been easier for him to hurt someone.

Dylan had accidentally pushed someone and rushed to his parents when he had hurt someone. He didn't know, back then, how to help the friend he had hurt. And seeing how his parents helped his friend, pushed him into helping people. He wanted to do something that would help people and heal them. He was eager to learn more about healing spells.

Once Dylan started school, he would keep his nose buried in healing books. He was eager to learn more about healing. He had a keen interest in it. When he was determined, it was hard to move him from his resolve. He wanted to make his parents proud and make them see that they had an influence on Dylan and that they had raised a good son. He wanted his younger sister, Alys, to be proud of him and too look up to him. He wanted to be a good influence on his younger sister.

Dylan loves helping anyone irrespective of the house they are in or what school they are in. He just wans to be good and help anyone in need. He cares about people around him. Thus making him a good team player. He tends to do well in groups than when he is alone. He hopes that doesn't hinder in his life eventually. He doesn't want it to hinder in what he wants to achieve.

Nonverbal Magic: (531 Words)
Reducio
Being a strong young man, Dylan was a little mature for his age understanding that things didn't usually pan out the way you imagined them in your mind or the way it was in storybooks. Life had different challenges and Dylan knew that he would have to take up those challenges as they came. Dylan wasn't one to run away from any danger. He wouldn't back off as long as he thought he could fight.

Dylan's life had many great things which were not limited to his boyfriend and his younger sister; both of whom he adored very much. He wouldn't forgive himself if anything happened to either of them. And for that, he would do anything to make sure he is able to protect them and keep them safe. His friend Damion is on the list too but not as much as his boyfriend and his younger sister.

A past memory that haunted the young Dylan's mind was an incident which no matter how much he tried to forget, was something that didn't leave his mind that much. It was on a vacation back when his sister was maybe 4 years old; when they were playing in the backyard of their vacation home when a small porcupine came close to Dylan and Alys. Unable to get a spell up as his mind froze in fear seeing the creature; he always blamed himself for that. Luckily his mother was close by and cast the Flipendo spell on the Porcupine and helped Alys out. Dylan was mesmerized by how his mother was able to help out. This was something that haunts the young Dylan's mind to this point that he wants to spend time learning spells so that he doesn't get paralyzed at a critical time.

Dylan never wants to freeze or have to find his wand at times when he really needs to be active and be alert for what is happening around. This pushed the young boy to learn more about doing spells without speaking. So he wouldn't freeze at a crucial time.

Dylan wouldn't ever want his sister or anyone in that situation and he is slow to draw his wand and is unable to come to their rescue. Dylan remembered how upset he was when he had been slow that day. He doesn't want that to ever happen again. It had shaken the young boy to his core. Dylan remembers that he had tears in his eyes seeing his younger sister a little hurt which his mother had immediately taken care of with spells and wrapped her up in bandages. But Dylan was sure he didn't want to ever freeze on casting a spell if he knew of one.

With time, Dylan became more and more confident in doing spells without having to speak. The first spell he practiced was the first spell he had missed all those years ago, when he was unable to cast the spell to protect his sister. Dylan's mother helped her getting better at doing spells without speaking. He spent hours learning about it. He loved how his mother was being so helpful to him knowing how much it meant to young Dylan.

Wandless Magic: (750Words)
Reducio
As far as his memories stretch, Dylan's wand had been by far the most reliable presence in his life. It was polished oak, thirteen inches long, and powered by a feather from the tail of a phoenix enchanted. He had been using it since that fateful day at Hogwarts-in the same way, however wobbly, as he had called forth his palescent first Lumos. By the time he had used each wand to cast Protego Totalum in the seventh year, he could see the beauty in each and every spell he had used through it's channel of his carved wood. Using magic had come naturally to him, but he always felt it was tethered to the querulous feel of a wand at his fingertips.

Dylan took note of a difference that night.

He was on the peaceful countryside visiting his grandmother, whom, while a witch in her advanced age and wisdom, was considered the few that actually made good decisions. She didn't follow constructionist magical theory like his professors at school, believing instead of being exact it was about connection. "A wand," she whispered to him one night in a poignant circle of lighted lanterns, "is a guide-not a prison. The magic comes from you Dylan, not the thin piece of stick in your hand."

He chuckled politely, considering it one of his grandmother's quirky sayings. However, an accident later in the week would make him put it to the test.

It was in the orchard where everything happened. A gusty wind was tearing through the trees causing the ladder to sway. Dylan in an instant remembered facing the loaded wand at the back of the kitchen. Levitate! His mind screamed to him. His arm was rising to his rescue. His arm flicked without any command verbalized; without flick-and-swish, the ladder sat still while she sat down and was lowered to the ground safely.

Everything seemed weird, for what seemed like long moments, while his hand had inexplicably started going pitter pat against his chest: he had done magic without a wand or verbalized spell. The only thing he relied on was sheer willpower.

For the rest of the summer unwittingly became his gym. There were successes and failures, which were mostly ludicrous. A flick of thought from his mind would light a candle, at least sometimes. Though the flicker would blow out and die in a faint hurry.

He could always push away a light object made of petrified air, but the heavies were painful fokl and frustrating: it was like an exercise of strength from underground, of hitting a wall. Grandma was always saying, "feel it-not fight it." Three things were always important for wandless: focus, emotional clarity, and absolute intent. Nothing worse than too much frustration bc then it fizzled, too much fear and it had a mind of its own.

The more Dylan practiced, the more he began to realize that wandless magic was not faster than a wand, rather it was more intimate. When he reached out with his magic from a distance, it was as if he was touching the object. He felt the faint hum of enchantment from the quill before he ever pushed it. He felt the intensely hot sensation of the flame before he even lit up the fire. Something too tiring about that, but totally exhilarating.

By September that year, Dylan was able to pull off a few spells wandless: an impatient Accio for small items, a reflexive palm Lumos, and faintly cast Protego as a safety. He never flaunted it and kept it on the down-low. If a professor got word of it, they would pelt him with all manner of inquiries over it or insist he had to do. Minutes of lessons with "supervision" which was purely not what Dylan wanted. He wanted to detach himself from the ability, as a purely personal thing; a skill developed by his will, insistence, not training.

So, upon reflection, Dylan will say the wandless magic method was more than simply a new method, it changed how he viewed himself. He no longer tethered himself to a piece of wood; his magic was his, flowing through him like a breath — present though unseen. He also understood that he would need years to truly master it — maybe a lifetime. But one thing he was certain of — one truth felt in his bones — A wizard is not defined by the tool they grasp, but by the magic that abides within them.

He tends to do things the correct way unless it's something with his ability. He doesn't think that using his ability is cheating or winning with misuse of things. He thinks that if his ability helps people around him he is happy to be a part of that. He wants to help others, friends, his house mates and team mates. He is a generous person that way. He wants to be a good influence on people who look up at him like his best friend Damion. He wants to help others as much as he can. He wants to be a good wizard.

Dylan is not scared of things easily. It helps in being more himself around things that would usually frighten people. He is really brave than other children his age. He would be happy to help someone face their fears as he fears almost nothing. He can be called brave for being so. He wouldn't mind helping out others fight their fears or deal with their fears.

Dylan tries to think of happy memories that he has with his friends and family whenever he is put in situation that would make him feel afraid. He doesn't let the fear grasp a hold of him. He let his will be stronger than ever to hold him. He doesn't let the memories of the happy times he had spent with his family and friends leave his mind. That way, he is able to overcome the fears. He thinks of all the happy times he had spent with Alys (his younger sister) and well with his family. He loves spending time and does so whenever he gets off school. He focuses on the good and happy times to overcome his fears.[/reducio]

[reducio]Being a strong young man, Dylan was a little mature for his age understanding that things didn't usually pan out the way you imagined them in your mind or the way it was in storybooks.

[/reducio]

[reducio]As far as his memories stretch, Dylan's wand had been by far the most reliable presence in his life.

But one thing he was certain of — one truth felt in his bones — A wizard is not defined by the tool they grasp, but by the magic that abides within them.[/reducio]
