y2 appearance- The summer bred something different out of Danaë. Perhaps it was the entourage of older women telling her how much she looked like her mother, or that strange feeling that something wasn't quite right with her, but nevertheless, something changed. It was the same change that forced her to change her wand. And it all started with her hair.

Hair that had been so delicately maintained for the early 11 years of her life, hair that cascaded down her back, was chopped off into a mockery of a wolf cut, not wavy, not curly, just not anything. And it was dyed, because she wanted everyone to know that she wasn't just the late Celestine Devereux's daughter, she was also Bastien Corentin's. And so it was dyed a dark brown.

Her style had changed, classy shirts losing way to leather jackets and crop tops. To high waisted jeans, and mascara, to even two cartilage piercings in her right ear.

She had aged too. Face losing more of its childish qualities, becoming angular, the delicate features slowly becoming something not so delicate (for there was no better way to state the fact). But her build has stayed the same, her grace has stayed the same, a lot has stayed the same in the same way that a lot has changed.

And in that same moment? Her beauty changed, no longer the quiet, subtle gentility her mother had possessed, but something different, something sharper, wilder, the undeniable beauty of something that wasn't quite human, but also wasn't, something unnatural. Something completely and utterly hers.

Reducio For all that Danaë is a complete and utter spitfire, the girl manages to retain a certain imperial grace (which most time leads to her being told she takes after her mother). Tall and willowy, with softer angles and high cheekbones, creating a face that at times (and rarely), seems rather delicate, means that oftentimes, it comes as a surprise when Danaë starts to argue on end about politics, or really just anything that has grabbed her interest to debate about. Danaë stands at 5'2", tall for a girl of 11 (or it might just be where she's from, she honestly has no idea, especially as most of her family is in the taller percentile). Long white-blond hair, the color of ivory, cascades down her back in slight waves, and is usually kept in a bun at the nape of her neck, or can otherwise be seen in a ponytail. Her eyes are a striking sky blue; interspersed with green and pale violet that cause her eyes to look like storms, a perfect example of the surname Corentin. Her skintone is a pale shade of pearl, a perpetual blush of pale pink brushing over her cheeks. Occasionally she's been mistaken for a veela (mainly the hair, though the glow she possesses that draws others' attention can state otherwise), though, as she is quick to correct, she is only half. A streamlined visage is the only thing that shows the very idea of her containing even the barest minimum of strength- wiry, corded muscles from years of ballet (on pointé, she might add). Her cheeks have begun to lose its childlike puffiness, and her jawline is becoming more defined. Yet, as soft as her complexion may be, Danaë can create a terrifying aura that can be described as being caught in a hurricane. Her smile (which more oft than not is a smirk), twists into a frown, and her eyebrows will furrow, especially as her eyes start to blaze, and the very air around seems to hum with a borrowed energy. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 「✰」 CLOTHING describe clothing.

personality- Bold and constantly challenging figures of authority, Danaë has matured into a spitfire through and through, throughout the years. Once, the girl was quiet, naïve, even taking care to draw attention away from her. But now she stands tall and charming(and especially flirty), commanding the room's attention. Danaë shows all about her, yet simultaneously shows none. A self-contradiction of a girl, layers peeling away to show a newer (or maybe just hidden) side .

Quite unlike her... normal self, though there may be better ways to put it, said inner self often just wants to curl up in an armchair and sketch until the sun goes. Someone moved by the need for change in the Wizarding World, yet simultaneously knowing nothing about how to change it (and, as her Da would put it, most officials didn't either). Forever dragging the worry of disappointing her mother's memory, and the legacy of all her ancestors, Danaë presses on, as if trying to prove to herself and her entire family, that their sacrifices were not for naught.

The outer layer, the one that is most easily shown, is one of dignity and ambition(along with a healthy dose of snark). She presents her motivation, her drive, but shrouds her reasons in mystery, leaving a trail of speculation about why she's always studying or has a notebook that is bursting at the seams with writings. Why is she always debating one topic or the other? How does she even have time for it? By any means necessary ( and she means any). Quidditch, a career as an Auror or a Minister. Her goals reach Zeus's planet, but somehow she makes it seem as attainable as making a sandwich.

Yet, with such qualities, come the negative ones to balance it all out. Danaë tries to keep a firm grip on everything around her. And really, wouldn't anyone with the world falling into pieces in their bare hands want to? She wants to protect those she holds close, but doesn't always do it correctly, sometimes doing the opposite of her intentions.

Insecurity courses through her veins, the need for perfection always looming around the corner. Which has led to essays, perfectly wonderful letters to be rewritten multiple times just because her a's are written wrong. Danaë throws herself into situations with reckless abandon, and even though she may plan, its just terrifying (her Pére has an abundance of stories about a younger Danaë attempting to pet a stray dog or a wild fox, really any wild animals, just to see what it's like, all for the sake of knowledge,And she just doesn't know when to stop, or to ask for help, leading to the girl to just- crash.

pre-hogwarts- Danaë Corentin-Devereux was the firstborn (and only) child of Celestine Corentin and Bastien Devereux. The child was well-received on both sides (and promptly spoiled by both sets of grandparents (" Here's a praline, don't tell Mémère!")). As such, Danaë's early life, until she was around four, was wonderful (maybe that's a strong word, judging that she barely remembers it).

What she does remember though, is this, that she was born in a townhouse on the banks of the River Seine, and there was a cat, perhaps an old Kneazle, that spent its days in patches of sunlight, as if monitoring the toddler. She remembers how her mother glowed, as if imbued in perpetual moonlight (actually that could probably be chalked up to her father's retelling of how they met, and how much he loved Celestine, although in all actuality that had been how her mother had looked, thanks to being a Veela), and how, in the end, none of it mattered. Because, the last thing she remembers, is unfortunately, her fourth birthday, and her mother had just gone to the hospital. But for a good reason, for Danaë was waiting for them to return with a baby sister. The car had been speeding and hit another, killing the driver and the young girl's mother on impact. And in the end, she didn't get her sister, and she never got her mother back either, only got faded memories she's now grasping onto, because if she doesn't, what does she have left of her mother?

So they moved, leaving the familiar home (and her family (though they still stayed in touch), to an apartment in Camberwell. Her father got a job as a theater teacher (not an auror or a job at the ministry, a theater teacher). School was good, and somewhere along the line, around six or so, she got another dad, Phillip Taylor.

Danaë’s magic surfaced for the first time when she was seven, in her Da's study, grasping up at a book and tugging a bit to hard at the bookshelf(in her defense she was seven, and hilariously impatient). As the bookshelf started to fall,and somehow Danaë only found herself thinking of how anoying it was that she still couldn't grasp the book, something(and she still doesn't know what), stopped it mid-fall(And of course she couldn't recreate it, no matter how hard she tried).

And as Danaë boards the train to Hogwarts, the only thing she can think of is What happens next?


y1- Danae's first year at Hogwarts was uneventful in the way that meant a lot was happening around her. She found out about a cousin, met up with her. She thinks that they might meet up again one day, they might not, she doesn't quite know. The girl had two brief stints at romance with two people of completely different auras. Mei Hagikura, the tough one who became a bit of a softie, and Rin Carmilla, a girl who was basically a fling, someone she would've liked to know more of. But they left.
