Valerie has what others would refer to as an interesting personality. At first, she seems distant, quiet, and even a bit irritable. However, for those who know her, Valerie is in fact the complete opposite of what she at first seems. To those who are close to her, she's very talkative and energetic. She's the type that always stays optimistic and cracks jokes in serious situations in attempts to lighten the mood, however, she can be sarcastic at times. When it comes to humor, she's very satirical and often makes fun of or teases her friends, light-heartedly of course. She's also a bit stubborn, and it requires a lot of convincing for her to change her opinions or beliefs.

early life

Valerie Eleanor Laurier was born on a cold winter night on December 9, 2009. She was born the third child in her family, born five years after her siblings, Toby Laurier and Vivian Laurier. Her father, Garett Laurier worked in the Ministry of Magic, working as an auror, and graduated from Hogwarts as a Ravenclaw. Her mother, Seraphina Whitlock, worked as a healer in St Mungo's Hospital, before retiring to watch over Valerie and her siblings, and graduated from Hogwarts as a Hufflepuff. Six years later, her brother, Thomas Laurier was born. Growing up, Valerie didn't get a lot of attention, being sandwiched in between her siblings. She was too young to discuss things with her parents, but always too old to need help to do anything. However, when he wasn't busy, she was particularly close to her father, who was the one who taught her all about magic and fed her interest and passion for the Wizarding World.

Growing up, Valerie showed signs of magic later than her siblings. It wasn't until she was around the age of 8, that she started showing magic. She was playing alone in her garden when she stepped on a flower. Feeling guilty, she tried to lift it back into place. She was about to give up before the flower suddenly bloomed back to normal, the grass around it growing taller and healthier as well.

the laurier family

The Laurier family is a powerful pureblood family of Ravenclaws originating from France and Germany. The family is known for its powerful line of successful aurors. Many powerful and well-known wizards come from the family, and the line has managed to stay pure for years.

the whitlock family

The Whitlock family is a pureblood Hufflepuff family. Although the Whitlocks aren't as powerful or well-known, most of the family were healers or aurors.

Valerie has a comfortable, laid-back style. She usually wears casual hoodies and leggings which are easy for moving. She doesn't usually wear eye-catching or shimmery items, and most of her clothes are dull pastel colors. She doesn't usually wear jewelry, either, and often accessorizes with scrunchies or hairbands on her wrist. She often leaves her hair down or in a simple ponytail, often with a few hair clips or scrunchies. She usually wears plain sneakers for shoes and doesn't often wear heels or anything fancy.
