28,1 cm aspen wood and snallygaster heartstring
Wand-quality aspen wood is white and fine-grained, and highly prized by all wand-makers for its stylish resemblance to ivory and its usually outstanding charmwork. The proper owner of the aspen wand is often an accomplished duellist, or destined to be so, for the aspen wand is one of those particularly suited to martial magic. An infamous and secretive eighteenth-century duelling club, which called itself The Silver Spears, was reputed to admit only those who owned aspen wands. In my experience, aspen wand owners are generally strong-minded and determined, more likely than most to be attracted by quests and new orders; this is a wand for revolutionaries.
Being of very similar temperament to the dragon, snallygaster wands are quite prone to miscasts and accidents as well, and acclimate quickly to the usage of dark magic. The wand is also usable as a twin core, but unlike its cousin, the dragon wand, the Snallygaster wand does not change hands as easily and may refuse to change owners altogether if a strong bond was forged. In fact, some snallygaster wands have been known to commit suicide upon their owners deaths, firing off sparks and spells until they explode or burn out, causing some wandmakers to label them as substandard for usage as a core.

Lyra was born December 19th in Paris, France, making her a Sagittarius. Her mother is a Half-blood who went to Hogwarts, but never told Lyra much about it. Lily Roseblood, Lyra's mother, was a Slytherin. She begged the Sorting Hat for said house out of fear of being punished by her parents, therefore she was rather ashamed at setting such an example for her daughter. When she graduated, Lily moved to Paris, France and married Louis Lake, instantly taking his last name to not give their children the misfortune of being alienated with the Roseblood name, a family full of dark wizards. Louis was born in France when his parents immigrated from Korea, and later met Lily. They settled in a small flat and both worked office jobs that payed quite well. Lily later got pregnant, and discovered that she was carrying twins. She stayed at home until delivery, Louis becoming the temporary only breadwinner of the family. On December 19th, around midday, two strong babies were born, the boy a few minutes before the girl. The couple decided to name the girl Lyra, as the baby always had a smile on her face when listening to music, and always fell asleep looking at the stars outside of their window. The baby boy was named Luke, meaning 'Light Giving' because he always seemed to make his sister happy. Coincidentally, everyone in the Lake family had the initials L.L., a fact that rather amused Lily and Louis.
Lyra and Luke grew up extremely close, which didn't worry their parents as they were still very adaptable, since Louis's job required a lot of moving. The twins shared everything together no matter where they went, and were rarely apart from one another. The both went to the same Muggle schools over the years and made friends like any other children, and had a happy childhood. Louis made sure that both kids took dance and music, wanting them to be educated in the arts as well, and Lyra grew up with a passion for dance. One Friday when they were living in London, Lyra's father came house seemingly tired, and spent the weekend in bed, unable to get up, but not before he had played with Luke in the park. Lily ordered her children to stay away from their father, but she forgot the fact that Luke had played with him Saturday morning. Louis was diagnosed with dragon pox, and there was no known cure. He unfortunately died a week later. Naturally, the Lake family was more than sad, as Lyra had lost her other half. The house was disinfected, but Luke was diagnosed with dragon pox as well, while he was only seven. He lasted a full two weeks before passing away as well. This threw Lyra into deep depression, having lost both her father and her other half. She claims to see him in her rare dreams and they talk, although of course this has never been confirmed. Both deaths gave Lyra nightmares that would often leave her screaming in bed as she jolted awake. Mother and daughter lived together as Lyra slowly got better, before she went to Hogwarts. Her first sign of accidental magic was at 8, turning grass to dog food as a puppy tried to eat it. Lily was proud and happy, yet unsure of which house Lyra would be put in, and was relieved when she was sorted into Ravenclaw.

Lyra has light-brown hair that some describe as bronze, that is curly but still a little straight due to the long minutes she spends brushing it. Her eyes are a deep, ocean blue with speckles of light blue, that sometimes shift to purple. She's average height and likes to wear sportswear in pastel colors.

Lyra is very kind and compassionate to her close friends, although she sometimes acts on impulse. She's generally very smart and resourceful, but highly creative as well, which is partially why she was sorted into Ravenclaw, as well as due to her open-mindedness. She stays very alert around people, unless she is completely comfortable around a certain individual, which has yet to be seen. However, she wont hesitate to make witty remarks and stand up for her friends if one gets on her bad side, revealing a rather violent aspect of her personality. She can get pretty sappy and serious sometimes. She also has a stutter.
