Ability I'm Applying for: Components
Describe why this fits your character:
It was an indubitable fact of nature that Clem got lost, where ever he went. This wasn't from a lack of direction or maps. He often knew exactly where he wanted to go, who he wanted to meet, how to get there. No, the problem lay in the fact that there were just so many thing to see in the world.
If told to go straight down a street for two blocks, the boy would inevitably end up in a side alley, admiring the dandelions that had managed to push their way through the cracks. On beaches, his parents would loose track of him and he followed his nose through tidal pools, marveling at the shells in them. He was a fan of roadside garbage, those cardboard boxes filled with old bags and bottles no one wanted anymore. The problem was, Clem simply thought everything was marvelous.
And this meant that on these wanderings, he tended to just pick things up. His pockets were filled with springs of grass, old fortune cookie messages, sea glass, and samplings of flowers he found pretty. There was no rhyme or reason to it all, not really. It was a simply a matter of interest. His dresser at home was littered with oddments that he had found, he constantly had to clean out the bottom of his backpack and he frequently found things in pockets of old jackets that he had no recollection of collecting.
His parents treated the whole thing with exasperation at times - they believed in order and cleanliness, while Clem was drawn towards clutter, towards stashing important things in odd places. It made leaving the house a disaster more often than not. Still, as he grew older, Clem began to develop an eye of distinction for these things - he knew which plants were which; he began to keep mental notes: you could eat these herbs, these flowers would make your hands and pockets reek (stay away!), sea glass could be made into ornaments, put change into the back pocket and so on.
His life was simply a matter of uncovering the new, finding wonder in the mundane, and these objects were vital to that experience. And on entering Hogwarts he was faced with a sudden absolute onslaught of the new and wonderful. There were new plants to learn, new mental lists to make. There were nooks and crannies that might not have been explored in hundreds of years, an entire grounds to explore. His new dresser was bare, and he couldn't wait to fill it with bric-a-brac and plants that had been unwanted and forgotten by time and others.

Ability/Race I’m Applying for: Seer
Explain why this fits your character:
Lily descends from a long line of pure blood witches and wizards, her being gifted the seer ability in the family had come very unexpectedly. When her father had found out about this new ability Lily had been gifted he began to research the Gray Family Tree. Lily’s father had found a woman by the name of Alice Worly who happened to be one of her great great grandmothers, and happened to be a seer like Lily. Sadly the woman had been involved with the Witch execution in Salem. Lily soon began to study the past seers that had lived within the magic world. She began to recognize things she didn’t recognize  before, like the choices the people around her made and what path these decisions led to. Throughout the years Lily has tried on multiple accounts to help guide her friends on the right paths but she soon realized that no matter what, everyone had to make a wrong choice.

Of course there were even times when Lily had wished she could have seen things coming, but because she wasn’t as advanced as she had wished she was incapable of such things. The seer ability was strictly kept a secret within the Gray family, Mr.Gray felt that if anyone knew that their daughter had such an ability, the Grays would no longer have their beloved pure blood line.

The first time lily came across her strange ability was when she was seven years old, Lily was in the forest with her friend Pearl picking flower and Sharing small stories. Then from the corner of her eye Lily saw Pearl reaching into a rose bush  and right under she saw a small roll of purple, then all of a sudden the purple had jumped up and bitten right into Pearls left hand. At first it had frightened Lily to see her dearest friend in distress but as she looked closer to the seen she saw that it had only been an allusion. What had happened still upset Lily even if it wasn’t real, as soon as she returned home she went straight to her father to confide in him  about the incident. Sometimes Lily would have such bad visions that she would even go as far as locking herself within her own room for days.

While it might have been the first it was definitely not the last time it would happen. She many not be able to  change fate, but Lily can prepare for what is to come. And for that reason she try’s to be strong and to become an example. Lily is exited  to learn more of her ability, and to find new friends and allies. Perhaps through this adventure she learn how to control her magic better, and Lily will also try to gain more control over her skill. She can only hope for the best.

Link to your encyclopedia thread: Erik Tharaldson
Name of Ability or Race that you Are Applying for: Werewolf
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
In Norway, Oslofjord you had two families fighting one another without mercy. These families, the Jordahl and Tharaldson family, have a long-standing feud that has been going on for centuries. They openly fought and provoked one another. This feud not only left its mark on the town inhabitants, but effected the only remaining Tharaldson heir as well. As the only living heir to inherit the family name, riches and status this resulted in his parents being overprotective. The boy, however didn't like this at all. In an act of rebellion his personality grew out to be that of a mischievous, charming, silver-tongued person who has a knack to get himself into trouble. His parents had tried to take every possible measurement to ensure his safety. They had assigned him a bodyguard, house arrests, curfews and much more, but each time Erik seems to slip away from the persons assigned to protect him or to escape his confinements. After all, he had made it his life's mission to antagonise his guardians and as a bonus his parents. What Erik loved to do was leaving his grand estate behind and go to the nearby lake. There he could go and dream that he was somewhere else. During one of his escapades he found himself not to be alone at the local lake. He had been there for the past hour with a stick in his hands, imagining it to be a wand and playing he was disarming some Jordahl henchmen who had crossed paths with him. When he turned around to take out his last opponent someone collided with him that burst out of the nearby bushes.

SMACK! Completely caught off guard Erik fell deep in the snow. Who the hell was that? Then he saw her. A girl! What's she doing here? With an inquisitive look on his face, he asked her who she was and why she had tackled him to the ground. The girl told him she was Astrid one of the villagers of Oslofjord. She had stolen some bread and an apple. As to back up her statement they heard some angry cries. Before he could ask her anything else Astrid took him by the hand and started running with Erik in tow. As the quick witted boy he is, he told her to climb one of the nearby trees. After all, people always forget to look up when they are looking for someone. When the chasers moved on they had stayed for a couple of moments until they hadn't heard anything for a while. Astrid and Erik had started talking in the meantime, whilst sharing the bread and apple with one another. It seemed they were kindred spirits. Both had a natural talent to get in trouble and to get out of it unscathed. This had been the start of their friendship. An unlikely one at that.

Week after week they had their secret meetings at the lake. It was out of the question Erik would be able to invite her to his estate. His parents would never allow him to befriend a commoner. Let alone invite her to introduce Astrid to his parents, so they had agreed to meet each other where they had first met at least once a week. But this night would be different. When he had tricked his bodyguard to get him something to eat Erik had run to his room and opened the window. From his terras he had jumped to the downspout and from there he had made his way to the lake. However, there was no Astrid waiting on him this time. The only thing that had seemed out of place was a letter that had been nailed to their favorite tree.
"We've got your "friend", Tharaldson. If you want to see her again come to the hermit's home deep in the woods. You'll see a clearing with a willow tree at its stem, there's a small pond. You've got two hours. If we see anyone else you won't see your precious Astrid again."
Erik had to swallow when he read the letter. Oh, Astrid. What did you do this time? How am I supposed to get you out of here at all? His first instinct was to run back home and tell his parents about the danger Astrid was in. However, there were two things stopping him. The first thing was that he would be watched on arrival at the hermit's house, if he wasn't being watched already. The second thing was that he knew his parents wouldn't help him at all. They wouldn't risk their men's lives just for a common girl after all. No, he had decided that he had to do this on his own. So, without further ado, he set off towards the forest.

After an hour and a half and many scratches on his arms and face, he had finally found the hermit's house with the willow tree and the small pond. He hurried and went through the door. You could barely call it a house. The door was hanging half from its hinges, the floorboards were creaking with each step, windows were somewhat barred with wooden planks and dust littered the whole house. After a while he found some stairs that lead downstairs to the cellar. He entered the cellar as silently as possible. Everything was dark except for one flickering light deeper in the dungeon. When his eyes had adapted to the dark, he could finally make out his surroundings. He opened a door in the midst of some prison bars. Erik saw that the flickering light came from a single candle flickering on top of a small wooden and battered table. Accompanied at that table was a three legged chair. On one side of the wall there was an old and battered bookcase with molded, dusty books decorating its shelves. Bones and meat were littered all across the floor. Half of the room was occupied by a half eaten cow and at last he saw a long, cold and darkened tunnel in the shadows.

Where are you Astrid? We need to get out of here! Erik thought to himself. ASTRID!, he yelled at the tunnel, I'm here. I got the letter. Let's get out of here! Silence... And then WHAM! With that the door slammed shut behind him and he heard a key turn. When the Tharaldson boy turned around, he finally saw his friend, but she was not alone. A tall and broad figure with a thick beard was standing next to her. A meaty hand was on her shoulder. Let her go! She's innocent. What do you want from us? Astrid and the older person looked at one another and burst out in laughter. She explained to him, they were both in league with one another. The tall figure was her father, Absalon Jordahl, and she was no one less than Astrid Jordahl. She went on how she had watched him, planned her approach and every action she had taken from the moment they met until now. To get Erik here.

Furious with himself and that Astrid had fooled him, he grabbed the prison bars, but his hands burned. Absalon told him it was no use. They had magically warded the prison bar so nothing could get in or out. Especially out. Erik yelled: I'll get my revenge on you both! Just you wait until my parents hear about this! Without anyone noticing. The small gem in Erik's heirloom ring, that his parents had given him, lit up. Another cacophony of laughter answered Erik's threats. With that, they left. Then from behind him, he heard it. A low, hungry and threatening growl. When the Tharaldson boy turned around, he saw a werewolf slowly crawling out of the tunnel. It had been laying dormant, probably after feasting on the cow, but now it was wide awake and most of all hostile. Before he knew it the werewolf pounced on him. Quickly he dropped to the floor and slid underneath the werewolf away from the danger. Oh, my... Erik you're such a fool. Now there's a werewolf between you and the door! He looked again at his surroundings and slowly backed up to the bookcase on the far end of the wall. When the werewolf lunged at him for another attack the Tharaldson boy yanked with all his strength at the bookcase and it came crashing down on top of the werewolf. That was his moment to go and look for cover, but then he heard steps. He turned around with his back towards the bookcase. Could it be possible help? Then suddenly when he was about to yell for help a flash of sudden pain came from his back and made him shriek out in pain instead. When he fell to the ground, he saw two wizards running down the stairs towards him. The smaller wizard was clearly a woman. She dispelled the enchantment on the prison bars and the taller male wizard blew the door from its hinches.

What happened next is all a bit of a blur to Erik. He got picked up by the man whilst the woman quickly disposed the werewolf in a matter of minutes. It was his father who was carrying him. After that he woke up in the Tharaldson estate with both of his parents beside him. His mother burst out in tears of joy that her son was okay. His father, however demanded to know what had happened. So, Erik told him everything. Erik's father, Loddvar Tharaldson, was a proud man. Family meant everything to him. An insult to his family meant an insult to him and that he couldn't stand. Not only that. The Jordahls were behind this direct attack on his family. Loddvar was fuming with rage. Before Erik knew it his father stormed out of the room and told his guards to follow him. His mother, Magda Tharaldson, a cold hearted woman to outsiders, but a ray of sunshine and a real sweetheart to her family, knew better than to stop him. The Tharaldson boy asked his mother how they had found him. Magda told him that the ring they had given him had a locater spell on it. Every time he would get hurt, his parents would know his exact location. Suddenly the extreme measurements that he had written off as overprotective weren't anymore. When Erik looked through the window of his room, he saw his father and his guards started kicking in doors and dragged people out on the street. His mother explained that these were no innocent people. No, they were either Jordahls or known supporters of that house. They would answer for what they had done to him and suddenly a flash of green light surged from their wands and the Jordahls and their supporters fell lifeless to the ground.

After a few moments his father returned to Erik's room. His parents told him he would have three long, deep and nasty looking scars that ran from his shoulder diagonally to his hip. Because of this he would be forever changed. Life wouldn't be so easy anymore for young Erik. Loddvar told him that they had to keep his "affliction" a secret. No one but his family, the Tharaldsons, would know. This affliction is called Lycanthropy. Young Erik was now a werewolf. His parents wanted to keep him as normal as possible. No matter the cost. So with that Luddvar went out in search for someone with Lycantrophy who could function as his teacher and mentor all whilst Magda helped Erik recover from his wounds.

After a few days of searching Luddvar had found a person who was willing and able to teach his son every aspect of Lycanthropy. A woman at the beginning of her 30s. She had a slender build, a stern face and her curled hair fell down to her shoulders. Her hair seemed to be tangled together and its color was slightly fading. Erik's parents told him this would be his new teacher, Miss Browne. She would learn him everything he had to know about being a werewolf, how to hide it, how to control it (as much as possible) and how to deal with this sudden change.

Months had passed since the werewolf incident and Erik and Miss Browne had grown close. She had learned him how to hunt, how to calm himself from sudden flashes of anger, how to use his enhanced senses and what to do during a full moon to protect not only himself, but others as well. After these months he had a firm basis of some control. However, there was still much to be learned. Miss Browne had told him about a school back in England, where werewolves would be accepted, but his parents wouldn't let him go. He would make his family proud and go to Durmstrang Institute.

A week later two cousins and a niece of Eriks had been killed whilst attending Durmstrang Institute as a retaliation from the Jordahls. The Tharaldson family couldn't risk letting their only remaining heir to their fortunes and name to attend their ancestral school. They took up Miss Brownes earlier offer and so Erik would go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Magda Tharaldson had sorted everything with the teachers there. She had notified them of the young Tharaldson's "affliction" and they had agreed to keep the secret hidden from the other students.

Name of Ability or Race that you Are Applying for: Evasive Maneuvers
Describe why this fits your character:
Growing up with two older brothers and a herd of hippogriffs had taught Edric how to get out of the way of approaching danger early on – the brothers more so than the hippogriffs. With Adair being four and a half and Harry being three years older than him, he’d always been the baby of the family. Being rather small for his age and hating any sort of confrontation hadn’t helped either.

Edric was a wimp, and his brothers had done their best to try and toughen him up. Race to the end of the road, who can climb this hill the fastest, let’s jump over this fence, last one to be on the other side has to help with the dishes later. Those had been some of the favorite games of his brothers when he’d been a young boy. Of course Edric had lost every time. He’d stopped halfway down the path, out of breath, had tumbled down the hill and fallen over the fence – until he’d gotten better. He was a small, nimble bchild. He’d learnt eventually, or at least gotten good enough at keeping up that it hadn’t been an easy enough win for his brothers to be worth it.

That had been when Adair started Hogwarts. Then Harry had started a year later, and their games changed. Apparently boys needed to be able to brawl, or at least Gryffindor boys did. Harry, always the tallest of his age group, had been almost an even match for Adair. Edric not so much.

He didn’t mind dirt, rolling around in the grass, helping in the stables, cleaning the herd’s heath, but getting his face pressed in the mud by Harry was the kind of obvious humiliation that even the ever-yielding Edric didn’t handle well.

His brothers were bigger and stronger, they would always be – or at least he thought so. Knowing this, Edric hadn’t tried fighting back, but he’d gotten really good at avoiding the kind of manhandling that ultimately resulted in that scenario. Harry tried to grab him? Edric ducked and ran for life. Adair wanted to grapple with him? Edric wriggled out of his hold and sidestepped his big brother.

After time it had become second nature to him. Adair and Hary had lost interest again, only sometimes coming up to him to hit him on the shoulder hard, or bump into him with enough force that the smallest Banes staggered a step back. They still thought him a wimp who needed protection, the baby of the family, but at least now they left him alone most of the time.

Race being applied for: Dhampir
Description:

It was springtime during his second year when Howard White experienced his first death. The Blossom Fest was in full swing, in fact, it was the night of the Blossom Ball. Howard made his way out of the castle, following the steady stream of nicely dressed students that made thier way to the dance. The reflection of the moon off the lakes water caught his eye. He quickly weighed his options, a night of torture at the dance or sweet solitude down by the water. The choice was easy for the young Hufflepuff.

Howard darted off into the shadows. It wouldn’t take him long to make his way. Soon enough he found himself along the waters edge alone, just as he intended. A disturbance from the nearby forest caught his attention. Spooked, he turned, wand in hand as a mysterious silver haired woman came crashing out of the tree line. He reacted in an instant, casting Flipendo at the intruder. A short scuffle ensued, however Howard was mistaken that this woman had come his way to cause him harm. She was in fact fleeing something much worse.

If the sudden appearance of a mysterious woman had spooked him, it was nothing compared to what would come next. It sounded as if a rhinoceros was blasting its way through the trees. Wood snapped and roots protested as the foliage was torn from the soil. Howard turned this way and that, desperately searching for a sign of the beast. What he would see could only be described as his eyes playing tricks on him. What appeared as a shadow tore across the ground, some dark energy that gave chase to the woman. With a shout, she fled the scene, the shadow monster short on her heels. Howard could have run or called for help, but his dark curiosity got the best of him and he pursued.

It was not hard for him to follow. He simply had to follow the path of destruction. Soon enough he would come to a clearing, just in time to see the monster strike out against the woman. The injury was devastating, but she did manage to expel the beast. Howard approached cautiously, the woman appeared to be mortally injured. He easily disarmed her and confronted her about her intentions at the school. After a short interrogation, she revealed to him that she was a vampire and had been tracking a child of hers that was at the school for his own devious reasons.

This is where Howard made his fatal mistake. It happened in an instant. His attention slipped away from her for just a moment and that is when she struck. Before he could even comprehend what had happened, the vampire had sunk her teeth into him, draining him to replenish herself. This is when Howard died, however in that same moment, he was offered a chance to live again. Not as he had before, but as a creation of his attackers making, as a Dhampir.

The change happened quickly. As she drained him, his skin would lose the vibrant color it once had, leaving it pale with a slightly grayish hue. His once crystal blue eyes would turn red. The change would not just effect his appearance. As he changed, his body grew stronger as the fibers of his muscles grew. His canines fell from his mouth as fangs began to grow in thier place. The nails of his fingers grew and hardened. The biggest change of all however would be his magical potency. Once a capable caster, Howard would now find that magic did not come as naturally as it once had. This didn’t to say he lost his gift, but his connection to it would dull. A shadow of what it once was.

The coming months would be a great challenge for Howard. Will he be able to maintain his humanity, or will he succumb to the desires of his new nature. Only time will tell.

Describe why this fits your character:
Having lived in a rather rural neighbourhood her childhood was rather ... lonely. There were only a few children that were the same age as her and although she had a friend or two, they were never always around. So Macia had to look for something that would entertain her during the days and weeks of holidays. She found distraction in the garden.

Which first started as some basic weeping and collecting of dry leaves quickly developed into a deep passion of tending for flowers and admiring the beauty of the wilderness. Her mother in a weaker moment had assigned Marcia a small patch in the garden, where she could plant whatever she wanted. At first she ran around, collected flowers she would find somewhere growing wild on the street and put them into her little patch. Then she would grab berries and burry them into the earth. She then wanted to make her little garden more beautiful by decorating it. Who wouldn't want a nice looking garden with flowers, berry bushes and some stones?

The stones she would find weren't beautiful or pretty, but they were many, so she used them to garnish her little patch.

Things were different when her mother would take her and her brother to visit their grandparents. The MacCuthais lived far north of Scotland in solitude but with a big mansion and a wide unkept area. Naturally, everything was exciting so Marcia wandered through the mansion and saw the potential for decoration in everything. She saw a teapot with flowers which she wanted to take with her. She could already imagine putting some earth in it and plant some ivy. Then there were stones, more beautiful than anything she would find at home on the streets.

Of course, she knew stealing was not permitted, so she walked to her Grandmother with everything she would find and ask if she could have it. Marcia had to learn that the answer was more often "no" than "yes", but sometimes her Grandmother would smile at her and nod, allowing her to take things with her. Instead of a teapot, she would get a chipped cup, that she later would use as a little water fountain. Instead of the beautiful shiny stones, she was allowed to have some bangs that were hanging at the curtains. What she never got, however, was that statue in the entry, that was completely grown over. Her mother had told her, that statue was already unrecognizable during her childhood, so she could tell Marcia what the statue was depicting. Marcia had promised her Grandfather she would take care of the wild ivy and clean it if she could get the statue, that would look so nicely beside her patch, but he had just ruffled her hair and sent her away with a kiss.

Even without the statue, her pockets were usually filled with things she had gotten or found on her way. Everything was useful in her mind and most of the things would find a place in her little garden. And even the things that wouldn't ... well ... nobody wanted them so she used them to make her room prettier. Maybe the statue would someday fit in her room if she wasn't allowed to have it for her garden?

Name of Ability or Race that you Are Applying for:
First Year: Perfectionist:
Reducio
Describe why this fits your character: Perfectionists are found in almost every race on Earth. Muggles even have their share of Perfectionists. Wizard Perfectionists want everything perfect including the spells they produce.

Lallie has been a perfectionist for almost her entire life. You could even say it's a bit of an addiction. In fact, it is by all accounts an addiction.

When Lallie was a small girl she didn't have a care in the world. She would run around carelessly, playing with her friends and just enjoying life without the void of existence and the cruelness of the world hanging over the small Lallie's head yet. Then her parents started butting into her life.

"Leo's got into Gifted at your age." "Leo was taking math with the older kids at your age" "Oh I remember Leo got a 42/40 on that exam. What did you get, a 40/40?"

These voices would ring in and out of Lallie's head for most of her childhood. Her parents would always compare everything she did to the way her older brother, Leo, did it. It was as if her parents would never think anything Lallie did was good enough. Leo was a child prodigy, god forbid Lallie didn't follow in his footsteps and become a child prodigy too.

Lallie wanted to please her parents though, as most children do her age. It started out tame, Lallie would put so much effort into everything she worked on. This allowed her to soar in her classes but of course, her parents only saw how she failed in comparison to Leo.

Lallie wasn't about to give up though. She put all her blood, sweat, and tears into everything she did. She worked so hard for such a hard time she naturally experienced burnout. She sunk deeper and why'll she was able to keep her grades afloat for a time her grades and her work slowly dropped.

Her teachers noticed this and talked to her parents about it. Her parents looked so disappointed in her. Their smart girl's grades had dropped. Seeing that look in their eyes made something snap in her head.

'You'll never be good enough for your parents.' 'You're just a trashy version of your brother.' 'How can you be so stupid as to let your grades drop?'

This voice was different from her parents' voices, it was deep, warped and evil sounding.  The way Lallie's life turned out she developed a deep-rooted inferiority complex. Everything she did was never good enough, everything she did she told herself she could do better, even if she couldn't.

Lallie doesn't blame her parents or her brother for this. This wasn't their fault, it wasn't anyone's fault. She still loves her parents and her brother. They are very loving and nurturing even if her parents could sometimes be too critical.

That's how Lallie became a Perfectionist. A bitter psychological self-hatred rooted deeply in her brain. While many were Perfectionists to strive to be better, Lallie was a Perfectionist because it was an addiction. Now it's everything she does down to how she uses the magic ingrained in her.

Second Year: Perfectionist #2:
Reducio
Describe why this fits your character: As learned in Lallie's first year Lallie has an inferiority complex caused by her parents. They constantly compared her to her brother, Leo, and made Lallie feel like she was never good enough. That made Lallie develop an inferiority complex, rewiring her brain making her think everything she did wasn't good enough.

Something happened in her First Year at Hogwarts. Lallie met someone, someone who changed something inside her. This person was the first person Lallie has ever really liked in a romantic sense. That difference changed something inside of Lallie, it made her feel differently about herself. It was as if this person cut through part of Lallie's inferiority complex, something about them was more important to Lallie than that voice.

At first, nothing much changed other than Lallie somehow managed to stand up to the voice inside her head when she was comforting this person. After a while, though, she grew closer to the person and suddenly another voice came in her head whenever she was around them. This voice was nicer, it put reason into Lallie's head, and most importantly it countered the bad voice

'Don't beat yourself over everything you say to them. They clearly don't mind''Don't listen to that. You're a good person.'

It was as if this weight was lifted from Lallie when she was with this person, she could just be herself. That is until she went away from this person. The good voice in her head kept the bad one at bay when Lallie was with them but it disappeared when she wasn't. Ever since the appearance of the good voice, the bad voice has become worse, more hostile when it's in Lallie's head. Almost animal-like in its survival instincts.

'It's your fault your mom double-crosser. She probably wanted to make you miserable which caused the rest of your  family to be miserable''Why do you have to be such a weakling? You'll get no where in life if you're just a scrawny sitck.'

It was awful, Lallie hated it so much. She found herself constantly in the bathroom sobbing her eyes out as the voice in her head constantly screamed at her every little thing that was wrong with her. Lallie's inferiority complex was spiraling out of control and she didn't realize how bad it was getting.

Lallie did what she always did ever since this thing showed up in her brain. She listened to it, she wanted to get better, even if she knew deep down she would never be satisfied. She focused all her attention on her studies and spells. She's pushed herself so she rarely fails at casting a spell, but of course, it is never enough for her.

The voice in her head keeps pushing and pushing, Lallie keeps working and working. She says she's a Perfectionist but really it's much deeper than that. The way her brain has been rewired refuses her to not do everything perfectly, unless she want to punish herself. The sad truth is that Lallie is stuck in a viscous Inferiority complex that refuses her to do anything less than perfect.

Name of Ability or Race that you Are Applying for: Binding Mark
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

Often, it’s said that where there is rage, fear lurks beneath. Above all else, Savannah Rose is afraid. The 11-year-old spent the vast majority of her short life, with no idea who she is. Her birth certificate says that she is the daughter of Veronica Rose, the space for her father’s name blank. The odd scars on her body from being pushed down steps and dragged through parking lots suggest otherwise; that she has no mother. No family to care for her, to worry about her when she’s 7 years old and lost in her own neighbourhood. There’s no one to check in on the girl when she’s 9 years old and spending 14 hours alone in the library. So, if she’s not her mother’s daughter, who is she?

A freak perhaps. Glass explodes in glittering shards when she screams. When tears drip down her face, leaving burning, wet tracks across her cheeks—the room trembles. With her knees drawn up and hugged tightly to her chest, face burrowed in the shallow cranny between her skinny legs—her bed shakes as violently, in sync with the raspy, heaving sobs that leave her mouth. The wooden twin bed frame rattles roughly against the floor, leaving deep scrapes in the dark panelling. She couldn’t control the things that happened when she was upset, the tears always came no matter how hard she tried to stifle them.

It was only a few weeks before her 11th birthday that she learned the truth and it was then, for the first time in her life that she had a modicum of certainty about who she was. Savannah could now look in the mirror at her reflection, that according to her mother, was far too like her father’s—and she could smile. She wasn’t a freak, she wasn’t Veronica’s. She was a witch. A magical creature. She had power and by God, she was determined to learn how to use it.

But don't forget fear breeds anger.

Savannah’s train ride to Hogwarts was spent alone. She occupied a single, empty cabin and during the two-hour journey to the highlands of Scotland, she fell victim to her own anxiety. It seized her with the same lightning speed a snake attacked a mouse. And its grip was crippling. The only thing she could do to keep from succumbing to tears, was turn to her anger, a little bubbling cauldron in her belly. The girl was terrified that she would arrive at Hogwarts the one place—no the only place she ever believed that she could belong to, and they would turn her away. Tears welled in her eyes at the mere thought of rejection.

Instead of crying, Savannah increased the fire that now blazed beneath the cauldron in her stomach and as her rage bubbled over her tears receded, and the hurt burned away.

They would try to tell her that she wasn’t magical enough. That she was too stupid and weak to be a part of their magical school and by the time the train slowed to a stop, Savannah had buried her tears and discovered a newfound resolve. She’d prove them all wrong and burn that beautiful castle to the ground before she allowed anyone to kick her out. She was enough and she’d show them all.

Savannah made her first pair of friends and her millionth enemy in the library. Tatiana Crane & Marla Quinlan—the first two people to ever understand her. While they also were exposed to her passion and brilliance, the two young women have also been privy to her temper, to the untamed cruelty that swims beneath the surface of her skin. They saw it all—everything she was, and still, they remained at her side. Such an experience should have made her happy, confident in her relationship with her new friends. Instead,  after it tempered her rage, cooling her down just enough to let that oily beast come slithering back into her mind, her anxiety returned to eat at her confidence.
What if they weren’t truly her friends? What if they didn’t accept her and were just lying to her face? What if they were plotting to get her expelled from Hogwarts?

What if--

The ability to brand a person gave her a technique to channel her fear, her slippery anxieties that crept into her mind when her guard was down. After all, if a person willing submitted to her mark—how could they ever leave her, hurt her? If they accepted her in their hearts, just as much as she accepted them, their bond would be unbreakable. And Savannah considered nothing more valuable than the relationships she would cultivate with her wizarding kinfolk.

The mark-- It would be a symbol of her strength. It meant that someone else had deemed her worthy enough to publicly express their loyalty, and perhaps even their love. The child knows no greater form of expression. Savannah’s two closest friends would join her on her journey down the path to greatness, proudly standing at her side the entire time.

The 11-year-old couldn’t help but wonder if that’s what love felt like. Complete and utter acceptance. The willingness to establish a bond that transcended atypical relationships. Such a connection was sublime and for a child that had never known love before, it was addictive. As Savannah’s following grows, she will be forced to make important choices. After all, how she chooses to treat her loyal followers, will inevitably temper what kind of mark the ambitious witch will leave on Wizarding society.

Name of Ability: Keen Eye
Why It Fits My Character:
Teiki has always been the explorer. Her favorite past time would be finding any place she could fit into, and just looking at it. Maybe it was the idea of secrets hiding in small, unknown places. Maybe it was the thrill of seeing something new, even if it was just a new chair that was slowly falling apart. Teiki would explore. This constant exploration helped her eyesight. In a shorter amount of time, she would be able to notice small details that others wouldn't have noticed. She also would be able to spot the differences compared to how she had seen it last. These constant explorations kept her eyesight sharp and fast. She would challenge herself to just stop. Notice the differences. Try to spot any new details out of the familiar paintings and pictures.

Maybe she got it from the games her mother made up. Liliana always challenged Teiki to puzzles whenever she found them. Word search became a game that she and her mother would compete to see who could finish the word search first. Spot the difference was a challenge to notice the changes in a well-loved, cluttered family room. For many years, Teiki constantly lost. And lost. Her mother always had better eyesight. Sometimes it was simple luck that Teiki would find the difference. But she practiced, she would take the sheets of word search from her teacher and do them at home, after she had finished the assignment. She would try to play spot the difference whenever she went outside. Soon, she caught up to her mother. The wins would swing from Teiki, to her mother, then back to Teiki as they continued to do their daily challenge.

Maybe it was when she was seven, and her mother had had twins. Making sure the cluttered house wasn't dangerous for the two newborns. Constantly keeping an eye on the babies to make sure they stayed out of trouble. The twins constant wide-eyed surprise at anything caused a lot of rushing between a nice drink to making sure the children didn't hurt themselves on the sides of tables and shelves. The word searches would be scattered around with mixed shouts as the two young ones tried to figure out what else they could grab and put into their mouths. As the twins started to be able to walk, the shouts now came from any obstacle that the twins could possibly stumble into. Teiki's exploration was now mixed with making sure Night and Daisy were fine and not about to get themselves into harm's way.

Or maybe, it was sheer luck.

Name of Ability or Race that you Are Applying for: The Martial Artist
Describe why this fits your character:
“No, I’m not letting you take a class just so you can beat that boy up!”
James’ father was cutting vegetables in the kitchen as James waved a flier at him.
“Well, it’s not really about that,” James pleaded, “It’s about exercise! I just think it would be a good way to keep fit,”
James’ Mum entered the room, a leg of lamb in her hands ready to put onto roast.
“Since when did you want to do exercise!?” she laughed.
James’ father responded for him, “He doesn’t, Mary.” He said, “He wants to take a MMA class so that he can beat up that boy who’s been giving him trouble at school.”
“James, we’ve told you, if you’re having trouble at school, then you need to talk to your teachers about it, and if that doesn’t work, then we can always arrange for you to go to another school.”
“No, you’re not listening Mum and Dad. Josh – well – he’s not really bothering me anymore – Pete and I- we kind of scared him off”
“Oh that sound fine then…” his father said sarcastically, placing down the knife, “So you already beat him up.”

“No! No nothing like that… he just… well, I don’t really know exactly what happened – he floated up into the air and sort of just… dropped” James mimed the strange event with his hand.

“Is that some sort of euphemism?” his Dad said.
“No!” James replied exasperated, “Look I don’t want to beat up Josh. It’s just, Pete and I want to… well we’d like to not be so weedy. We want to build up some muscle so kids won’t pick on us in the first place.”
James’ parents looked at one another meaningfully and then back to James.
“Fine,” his father said, “But I’m doing it with you”.

The next afternoon, the tall thing man and two nine year old boys stood outside a large ballet hall, tucked behind the chippy at the end of James’ street.

A large, slightly grubby looking German gentleman greeted them at the door.

“Ah yes. You are the three who wish to learn the glorious and wonderful art of dominating your fellow man.” He held a long hard stare on the three and waved a large hand at them, “Please come in, come in!”
Pete leaned over to James and whispered in his ear. “If we get murdered tonight I’m bringing you back to life an killing you again”
James snorted, “It’ll be fine! You’ll be thanking me when you’re totally ripped come summer”

Their German instructor explained to them that he had been a member of the German special forces, and explained, that he had been in more than 200 hand-to-hand combat scenarios in his career.

James silently wondered what had occurred to land him in a defunct ballet studio in Bromley but decided not to ask.

In the end, the man was actually an excellent teacher. Over the next four months, James, his Father and Pete learned how to put more power into a punch by focussing on the follow-through. How to properly keep balance during a kick. How to use somebody’s body weight against them to force them into a headlock. And how to stand appropriately so as not to be knocked down by one’s opponents.

The three came to rather enjoy their time with their German instructor and James secretly knew that if there were ever going to be another Josh, he’d be ready.
