Jean was a discreet girl, who didn't speak much unless she had too. She mostly stayed alone or with the few people she could tolerate being around. Those people got to see the kind-hearted, supportive friend she could be. Get to know her even better and you got to see her sensitive and astute side, but that was very rare as she hated showing that. Trusting people was often hard for her as the fear of being betrayed made it hard to make deep, meaningful connections.

Others would see an impassive, impatient and egotistical girl. She didn't like people as she thought they weren't interested and didn't mind people not liking her, the exception being the people she wished to be visible to. She was carefree, didn't often think of the consequences of her actions before getting into any sort of situation, and hated disappointing her mother. Just like her father, she was impatient and temperamental and found herself fluctuating from complacent to exasperated swiftly.

Reducio Living with her muggle mom, step-dad and older sister, Jean hadn't seen much magic growing up. She lived on an average street, in an average house and enjoyed it. Her garden wasn't very big, but big enough for her sister and her to play outside when the sun decides to show itself. Her dad had left them not long after her birth for unknown reasons. While she felt quite resentful, she still missed him and hoped to get a call every time the phone rang or for him to show up at the door. She spent most of her afternoons running around parks, riding her bikes around the neighbourhood, or getting into all sorts of trouble with her older sister, Esme. Luckily, her sister and her had seen their father a few times. He would tell them fantastical stories about dragons and mermaids, hidden schools and flying broomsticks. Of course, Jean didn't believe him anymore. Who thought wizards were real... But he insisted, and assured them they would one day cast spells and brew potions. Whether it was a trick or not, she received, on her 11th birthday a letter, delivered by a real owl, where she read about a magical school she was expected to attend. Her dad really wanted to make these stories as real as he could. Maybe she ought to believe him now ?

Reducio It was a day like any other. The sun was out, her sister was home and bored. And like many days, they decided to play catch in the garden. Jean was determined to throw the ball high enough for Esme to miss it. She successfully did just that, but left out one detail : the windows behind her sister. The ball missed her hands and flew directly towards the glass. Esme ran to catch it as Jean shut her eyes, waiting to hear the glass shatter and imagining her step-dad's reaction when he would get back. Her eyes were closed for a few seconds, and no sound had been made. She opened them up gently only to see the ball floating in mid air, her sister's eyes darting between the ball and Jean, who stood there, her mouth wide open. As she got near it, her hands in front of her, the ball fell into her hands gracefully, leaving both girls equally confused.
