At the age of 11, he was accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and started his first year in 2020. He was sorted into Slytherin. Biography ─────────────────────────────── EARLY YEARS (2009-2020) Mathias' father is Thaddeus Athanatos, he is the patriarch of the Athanatos family. Mathias does not have the Athanatos name, he has his mother's surname. This as been a sore spot for Mathias his entire life, he feels he has to earn what others have been given at birth. He seeks to undermine and excel past his peers, destroying them if necessary in the process. As such, he pushes his family's agenda with little regard to others. His mother, Matilda left when he was young. She is presently in a psychiatric facility. Mathias feels that she has abandoned him and resents her for this. In truth, she did abandon him. He was a monster from birth, him and Gideon both. Her personal ambition resulted in the death of her sister, Vladimir's mother and one of Thaddeus' previous wives. It also resulted in Thaddeus' ire. Mathias was conceived via similar, but not the same means by which he is now controlling Winnie. Trickery, in Matilda's case polyjuice potion to resemble her sister. When the truth of this came to light, Thaddeus was enraged and refused to acknowledge their son as his own. Later, with the conception of Gideon, this a knowing union that did not result in marriage but in Matilda's mind brought her a step closer. Gideon was given the name, the rights to the esteem and privilege that Mathias always lacked. Perhaps it was Matilda's want to be more than a Pride, more than a simple metal charmer, that drove her mad. The fact that she was competing against a dead-woman for the man's affections, a tenderness he never gave. Perhaps it was something else, something terrible that she saw in both Mathias and Gideon that drove her away. But one day, when he was twelve his mother called Mathias and Gideon both 'monsters', before she could lash out at them, before any harm befell either, the staff had restrained her. She was sent to St. Mungos and remains there to this day. Mathias spent his youth in preparatory school. Tutored in the basics of reading, writing, literature and mathematics. He can play the piano. As a child he had a handful of friends, children of the parents his parents knew; presently he does not socialize with many outside of Slytherin. FIRST INSTANCE OF MAGIC: His mother told him that he was 7 months when his magic first surfaced. A statement merely of prestige and also a lie. In truth, he did show his first magic young, just not as young as his parents had often professed with such pride. He was three and he was playing with blocks. The sort that you stack upon the other. As his parents tell this, merely pulling back the years ever so slightly, they heard laughter in the study where he was playing and when they entered my blocks were floating, bobbing about me. Mathias was too young to recall his parents reaction but they told him that they celebrated and bought him new toys. |

A bit taller than average with a broad natural frame, Mathias is presently quite lean. A recent interest in body building as resulted inn an abrupt increase in muscle but not bulk. His skin is quite pale with a faint sprinkle of freckles. He has red hair and hazel eyes. I presently stand at 6 foot 2 inches, making him taller than his contemporaries but not by much.
In terms of attire, he tends to dress smartly. Button down shirts and fitted slacks. He depends on house elves for his laundering and ironing. He has a preference for darker colors such as dark blue or green.

He dosed her with forgetfulness potion and then gaslit her into a relationship that had lasted several years. He would often manage relationship quarrels with the same method, a liberal dose of forgetfulness potion. Yet in spite of this unhealthy dynamic, actual sentiment has formed. He does care about her, but not enough to risk losing her. While she has caught onto the potion, Mathias has moved on to more devious forms of control, namely threats and simply charm.

Roleplays
1. First Journey to Hogwarts.
Met Gabriella Haworth, Blair Rhodes, Amelia Faye, Jessenia Vidal, Natalia Moonflurry, and technically Alena Het. Left when Alena entered, the compartment was overcrowded. Stood the remainder of the journey in the hall.
2. Sorting Ceremony: 2020-2021.
Sorted into House Slytherin.
3. Leading the Pack
Observation. Also the reason I am making this thread, I need an encyclopedia.
4. Lion's Den. Met Jackson Valentine, I do not like him very much.
5. Truth or Dare. was paired up with Stanley Buttons, Orion Neptune, and a Candace Dykstra. Left early due to lack of interaction.
6. Quidditch: Slytherin v. Hufflepuff met Reid Kovacs, former Quidditch player. Went silent during roleplay, watching the game.
7. Quidditch: Ravenclaw v. Gryffindor. Met Zykeal Lane who has a short fuse, overreacted to a statement by a first year about the questionable personality of a Quidditch Player (Rafael D'Spacito). Zykeal flippendo'd Mathias and as a consequence Ami Procoppio who was speaking to Thomas LeStrange intervened and poured coffee over Zykeal. In addition, met: Cade Darkbound and Valencia Deathstout. Left early as what I needed had transpired, left Zykeal with my coat.
8. Late Tidings. Planned detention thread for staying our past curfew. Will be meeting Opeila Winters, Pericles Dralt and Alan Vanes.
9. Flash is Drunk, HELP Miffed at Flash but wanting to save his useless hide as they are dormates, he tells the Head of House Hjørdis Jensen that Flash is intoxicated and using a love potion in the basement.
10. Levway in the Owlry A planned thread where mathias is supposed to meet up with another player (Levi Drakos) but it is possible that the user has forgotten about this thread so this is potentially abandoned.
11. Severus Snape Dorm I am a member of the Severus Snape Dorm.

Flavor: Those with the power of prophecy (Seers) or those with specific psychic power (Legilimens) can use their wand to make images of their vision(s) show in the dancing flames. This is just a flavorful thing that cannot be done in combat.
After searching the world for the right wand, he would find it right back where he started Ollivanders.
