Cupcakes and Birthdays
July 19th⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙It was here... her birthday! Well- not yet. This afternoon she had quietly crept out of her tent carrying an array of objects. There were pillows, blankets and a couple of boxes filled delicious cupcakes and- was that a table? She had planned her party last week and it was rather spontaneous. See... her birthday wasn't until 2 weeks, but summer camp was about to end and she was not going to miss out on celebrating with her friends. She had even made sure to give invitations to her friends and tentmates. If they would open the small yellow envelope they would find a painted card that reads:Aurelia was very proud of them. She had spent quite a long time painting each card individually and decided to hang them up around camp, she couldn't let her artworks go to waste. And besides, the more people that came the better... right? She didn't mind having strangers or even students from other schools. Who knew maybe even a teacher would say hello? Happily, she strolled to the green patch of grass that was located behind the tents. Her floral dress danced with the cool breeze as it swept through her braided hair.
She looked around and settled on a nice even patch under a tall tree. It would provide good shade from the scorching sun. A bit carelessly Aurelia spread out the blankets and threw some pillows in here and there. What could you say- she just isn't a perfectionist. However, it still turned out to look quite beautiful. Then she put the cupcakes on a nice little wooden table she also stole took from her tent.
The cupcakes were baked by her mum. Who kindly sent them over so she could share them with friends. Like every birthday, her mother had baked too many. There was at least sixty in there, maybe even a hundred. She was seriously overestimating how many friends Auri had. Apparently, this time the frosting was different. One half was coloured red and made with strawberries while the other half was blue and made with blueberries. Then, they were swirled together so you could taste both flavours on one cupcake. A rather smart way to incorporate Aurelia's favourite fruit which was strawberries and her favourite colour- blue.
She sat down on a pillow and waited... hopefully, people would come. She couldn't just eat all the cupcakes by herself, although she was very tempted. I wonder how long I'll have to wait.Reducio

A very thin and rather beaten-up boy poked his head around the tree, spying an attractive birthday picnic setup. This must be the one talked about on the cards that were hung around the camp. He hardly knew anyone from Hogwarts since he usually sunk into the background at social gatherings unless his team mates were gathered. However, Valentin "Niffler" Schnell was by nature a curious sort and didn't want the lure of the cards to remain an unexplored mystery.
Not immediately spying anything shiny, Valentin decided to break from the cover of the tree and approach the girl surrounded by a vast number of cupcakes. The sweets held no allure for Valentin, whose quidditch-related eating disorder prevented him from habitually enjoying treats. The whole concept of eating was rather unpleasant to him because he was afraid of the impacts food would have on his game performance. Having just gone through a growth spurt, he was a bit sensitive about the issue of growing larger in a game that required him to be small and light, like a racing jockey. On the other hand, anyone could see that the boy simply did not eat enough.
Though it was unusual for Valentin to go out of his way to interact with people from outside his team, he knew his time in London was drawing to a close. It was now or never. Striding up to the girl, Valentin put his hands on his hips and addressed her in his usual broken English:
"Hallo, birthday girl?"

A couple of days ago Akari had heard that there was going to be a birthday party for someone at the camp. She figured it would be best for her to go and introduce herself to the people there since she was new and know very many people.
The young girl put on a nice flowery shirt and a pair of some mom-jeans and put her hair up in a high ponytail then hurried out of her tent whiles clutching a small parcel in her hands. Even though she didn’t know this girl she didn’t want to show up empty handed so she had brought the girl a sliver chained necklace with a small charm on it.
She stumbled clumsily around the campsite a bit forgetting where her friend told her the party would be. She groaned to herself realizing that she’s possibly going to be late if she continues wandering around aimlessly. By a huge coincidence she saw a lovely set up in the distance which was presumably the party. Akari walked over and looked around curiously at all the decorations and cupcakes and wondered if the girl had done this all by herself.
She sighed in relief when she saw only a couple people there thankful that she wasn’t late. She walked up to them with a smiled and asked “this is the birthday party right?”

Katrina was in a pretty descent mood. She wasn't feeling great, per say, but she was actually starting to enjoy camp. (Now that there were two days left)
She had received a small yellow envelope inviting her to a birthday party. Katrina really hadn't been to one of those in a long time. Might as well enjoy the day while she could. Katrina put on a semi fancy outfit and slipped out of her tent at about 10 am. She jogged for a while and returned to a grassy hill to think. Apparently, said grassy hill was close to the birthday party, because Katrina silently watched as someone set up the party and people began to arrive.
There were a lot of cupcakes. Katrina wasn't a fan of them, but she did have a penchant for frosting. Why, she couldn't say. Especially since she didn't eat much to begin with. But frosting... and ice cream... were her only downfalls.
Katrina watched quietly from the hill. She did have a little something for the birthday girl, but it could wait until later. Instead, she decided to hang back and offer polite conversation in case anyone decided to sit near her.
She was glad that someone could get to enjoy her birthday.

Rose was so excited for Aurelia's birthday. Auri was a really good friend of hers and she wished that she had known sooner. She felt bad for not asking, for not knowing sooner.
Approaching Auri, she realized that there were only a couple other people there, both were talking to her.
Coming over to the back of Auri, she waited for a break in the conversation and then tapped on her left shoulder and then dodged over to the right side of her, making a kind of circle-square with her and the other people there. Once Auri saw her, she hugged her and said, "Hey, Auri, happy birthday! I didn't know your birthday was close! Why didn't you tell me?" She took a small, wrapped present out from where she was hiding it behind her back. It was a box about as big as Rose's hand. The wrapping paper was shimmery and golden. "I got you something. Should I put it somewhere, or do you want to open it now or?" She held it out to her in case she wanted it now.
Turning to the other people, Rose introduced herself, "Hi, I'm Rose. Rose Moon. How are you?" She rocked awkwardly on her feet, her expression polite.

The wait didn't last long. The very first guest to come was an older looking boy, and he had a rather pale complexion. Aurelia had seen him somewhere... on the Pitch! Aurelia certainly didn't expect him. "Hallo, birthday girl?", he said as he neared. The Durmstrang seeker! Flustered she greeted him back: "Yeah- that's me. You- you're Valentin, right? Valentin Schnell? From Durmstrang? I- I watched you play", she had indeed studied his tactics when he was playing against Hufflepuff, and like the rest of the Durmstrang team, he had serious speed. But for the moment she put her fangirling aside and pointed him to the cupcakes: "Do- do you want one? I mean, of course, you don't have too..." Maybe he would refuse? Maybe as a Quidditch player he was on a diet or something and now that she thought about it, he did look a bit scrawny.
Soon after a girl arrived, who looked a bit younger. Aurelia excused herself from Valentin and approached the girl. Maybe she was a new First-year? "This is the birthday party right?” Aurelia smiled at her and answered her question: "Yep! This is it!", she looked around proudly, it really turned out quite cosy- but back to the girl. Auri had never seen the girl at Hogwarts, not even in the halls somewhere. Although she did tend to forget... "Are you going to be a First-year after the summer break? What's your name?"
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw another girl arriving. Jeez, those cards really were working. But, something was familiar about this girl. Oh! The teal streak! How could she have missed it? "Hey Walker! Nice of you to come!" She was glad someone familiar had come, but Katrina seemed to have settled on her own and Aurelia didn't want to disturb her. She would go over after getting the others settled.
She turned back to Valentin and the younger girl and said: "So what brought you guys here?" while grabbing herself a cupcake. About time she tried one herself! Mmh strawberry and blueberry frosting. Hopefully, her guests would like them just as much. Suddenly, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around instantly, but there was no one there. Puzzled she looked around before abruptly being hugged by someone. "Rose!", her best friend had appeared, there was no doubting that red hair. Rose greeted her:"Hey, Auri, happy birthday! I didn't know your birthday was close! Why didn't you tell me?" Aurelia was taken aback, she never thought of telling Rose her birthday, it just slipped her mind. "Oh, sorry about that! That reminds me, you never told me your birthday!", a laugh escaped her. They still had a lot they didn't know about each other. Aurelia blushed slightly in response to the wrapped present Rose brought: "Oh, you can just put it aside for now. Tha- Thanks... you really didn't have to..." In Auri's opinion accepting presents was the most uncomfortable part of a party, ya just never really know what to say...@Valentin Schnell [@Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood], @Akari Kato, @Katrina Walker & @Rose Moon

Aurelia seemed quite nervous to meet Valentin, and with her admission of having seen his game, the White Niffler broke out in a humongous smile. Perhaps she was a fan! Valentin’s eyes shimmered. He lived for his fans, just like he lived for his team mates. All of that training, falling down and getting back up, all the beatings he took as seeker… it was all to try to bring joy to such people as Aurelia.
She offered him a cupcake, which was of course problematic, but he was so charmed by her excitement that he did not want to disappoint her or make her sad on her name day. This was the best way to get the boy to eat– make him feel like he should do it for the sake of other people. Valentin humbly took a cupcake onto a kerchief and set it onto one of the blankets. He then took off the Silver Arrow broom that hung from his back and laid it lovingly next to the cupcake as to create a barrier against people stepping on the cupcake unwittingly. It would be much harder not to see that shining, brilliant silver broom.
"So what brought you guys here?" said Aurelia, much calmer than before. Valentin made a toothy grin back at the girl and pulled out a card that he had pilfered from one of the many that hung around the camp.
“You,” replied Valentin cheekily. He assumed that she already knew Valentin had come to the camp to accompany his team on the field, and he wanted to make sure she understood it was no accident that he was here at Aurelia’s celebration. There was no need for him to even ask Aurelia’s name, as he had already learned it from the card he had found. He put the card down gracefully in front of her as if returning a lost item.
Valentin’s silvery violet eyes followed the shimmery golden wrapping paper of Rose’s gift as it moved. The boy's niffler instincts tingled once, then twice as he noted the arrival of another small parcel accompanying Akari. For Valentin one of the greatest gifts to receive was attention, and there was one particular way he liked to give attention to those he cared for. As Aurelia was a birthday girl, Valentin felt it only natural that she be showered with attention automatically.
"I come with not much out Germany. For birthday I can give broom ride later,” spoke Valentin with a silvery smooth tone. He gestured casually at the broom he had laid on the blanket.

Cash woke up when one of their tent mate shook them harshly. Their green eyes bore into their tent mate sharply. The said tent mate told them there are two envelope with their name on it. Cash yawn and stretch their body on their bed in the tent. The girl gave the envelopes to Cash. The first one is a green with silver lettering and the second one is a yellow one.
Cash put it aside the green one and their wand into their small sling bag and open the yellow one. After reading the invitation, Cash get up from their bed and get ready for today activities. The wear a simple white tee with black and white stripes pants and to complete their look, they wear white sneakers and their beloved sunglasses.Reducio
They took one last glance on the full body mirror and walk out from their tent. When they stepped out from their tent, they about to head back into their tent with how hot the sun today but since they in festive mood, they did not want to miss out the opportunity. Cash themselves celebrate their birthday right here on the camp the day after they played Capture the Base but the only one know it is their birthday was Cash themselves.
Cash followed out the instruction on the where the party will be held. Upon climbing on the hill, finally they saw the party. Surrounded with some people Cash know and did not know, they approach the birthday girl. The birthday girl seating on a blanket with colorful cupcakes. "Aurelia, right?"Cash inquires the girl that sit next to a white boy.
The said white boy Cash never met before but they saw him during the match. "Feliz cumpleaños!"Cash expressed with their thick Cuban accent. "Er, happy birthday to you"Cash translated for the people that already sat around the girl. "I am so sorry that I did not have something to give for you but I can assure you when we get back to school, I will give you your present"Cash stated upon seeing a gift wrap in a red and gold wrapping.
The girl is kind enough to invited the soon to be second year, the least Cash can do is repay it by giving the girl a present. "Those cupcakes look delicious"Cash pointed out. "I can not remember when was the last time I ate one of those"Cash sighed. Being an only child of pureblood socialites sometimes come with a burden.
One of those is they are forbid to eat something remotely as a sweets. Then Cash avert their green eyes to the red head girl. "I want to apologize for my dorm mate behavior, she can be petty sometimes"Cash uttered. "You know the one that spilled her drink at you at the beginning of this camp"Cash mentioned.

Akari look up at the birthday girl as she approached and put on a kind smile to match hers and listened as she spoke to her. "Yep! This is it!"
Akari nodded grateful that she had found right place, and then she took a closer look at all the decorations and the lovely set up of the cupcakes and delicious looking treats when the birthday girl asked asked her,
“Are you going to be a First-year after the summer break? What's your name?"
Akari nodded and replied, “Yes indeed, I’ll be a first year after the summer break! Oh and I’m akari”
she held out her hand for the girl to shake.
“Oh I can’t believe I nearly forgot, this is for you, happy birthday!” Akari said and handed her the small parcel.
Akari watched as more people had started greeting the birthday girl.
"So what brought you guys here?" The girl asked them.
“You” the boy beside her replied , his name was Valentin... right? She wasn’t completely sure though since she’d never met him before.
Akari nodded in agreement at the boy’s answer “Yes, you!” She said happily then grinned.
Akari sat down and observed all the people who were shuffling in, she’d hadn’t known anyone so it was slightly awkward but from what she could tell everyone was super sweet and quite friendly.

Fashionably late? thought Scarlett as she hurried to where Auri's party would be. Or just late late?
She desperately hoped it was the former, though Scarlett never seemed to nail the suave manner others glided in at parties, beyond the shadow of a doubt fashionably late. The thing was, summer camp had so many activities, and it was so easy to get lost in the moment that she would forget her own friend's birthday whilst eating at a barbecue, say.
When someone had made an idle remark about a birthday ("I think it's some girl's birthday today...Anna? Aura? Aurelie? No, Aurelia! That's it."), Scarlett had jolted to action and ran for her tent like her life depended on it, throwing on a red dress and gold flats and swiftly picking up the rather cute pastel blue camera she had bought some time earlier, when she had been alerted of the news of Aurelia's upcoming birthday. It was a struggle to run in her outfit, but she was glad she wore them as she saw how everyone else was dressed.
Most had smart-casual type outfits on and Scarlett scanned the guests arrived so far. She saw Aurelia looking lovely and glittery in a red dress a bit like hers, with her eyes dusted with sparkles and her hair in a French braid. A thin boy with scars and white-blond hair was there as well. Scarlett had never seen him before, but he looked intimidating. Well, his scars did. The boy wasn't the epitome of muscled body builder. There was a young Asian girl wearing a floral print shirt and some different-than-normal looking jeans. The girl looked like a first-year. Maybe she was starting Hogwarts in September?
Scarlett couldn't help feel a slight rush of pride. Second year awaited her and she would get to see the young and new Hogwarts students doing what she had done just a year before.
Finally, there was another girl that looked...like her? The girl was practically an older version of herself, except with a very noticeable teal streak in her hair. And of course, her friend Rose Moon, looking very pretty in her fancily woven dress.
Scarlett immediately walked up to Auri, who was just accepting a gift from Rose and chatting to her guests.
"Auri!" beamed Scarlett. "Happy Birthday! The party looks amazing. And, er, here's a little gift I brought you."
Scarlett showed Auri the camera and wished with literally all her heart she liked it.
"And hi Rose!" she added afterwards, turning to address her fellow redhead.
That was pretty much everyone she knew at the party. Scarlett was really looking forward to meeting everyone else.
