A Feeling So Sudden and New
Interacting with: @Breana Oliveire|@Lydia Cooper| @Ariana Walker| and other tentmates
Mentioning: @Aaron Jones|Carolyn Hunt
When she met up with Aaron this morning, Maria didn’t expect their interaction to end on a sour note. At this point she’d thought that impossible. But as soon as Aaron mentioned his new half-Korean friend, Maria felt her mood turn sour. Her name was apparently Carolyn, and they met when everyone was stargazing. It made her uneasy to hear him talk animatedly about this new friend. Actually, up until now, she’d never heard him talk about another girl other than Lydia. It didn’t sit well with the young witch, and when he showed her the charm she gave him, she looked almost livid.
Luckily for her, Aaron didn’t seem to notice these things, nor did he see the small glare she threw at the charm. She felt the unpleasantness blossom when he talked about putting it on his broom and tried to tamp it down. Appearances were kept until well after Aaron had left, and then her features morphed into a scowl. It was more than obvious she was jealous. But to her she was merely confused. Why would it matter to her that Aaron talked with a half-Korean girl? Why did it affect her that she gave him a silly charm and that he said he would put it on his broom for the match? Did he like her? Did he like her more than Maria?
With a huff, the Puff walked back to her tent. Just like before she acknowledged her feelings for Aaron, she couldn’t exactly describe what she was feeling at the moment. These feelings felt familiar but it also felt like she was feeling them for the first time.
At the time she probably did not realize it yet, but it was not anger, nor was it sadness - it was jealousy. It was raw, unmanaged, green-eyed emotion wrapped up into a 12 year old girl. One would probably guess it wasn’t pleasant. It was an emotion Maria didn’t feel quite as often, given that she was mostly alone and mostly a calm child but when it did hit, it was strong. But this was different. Just as she had never really had a crush on anyone before, she’d never really felt like this either. It was also vulnerable emotion, like someone had unearthed some of her pre-teen insecurities and brought them to the surface. It made her feel awkward and self-conscious.
Not knowing what to do with herself, she made her way back to her tent. As she walked, her emotions manifested themselves on her person. Her eyebrows were furrowed, her lips in a pout, her hands clenching and unclenching, posture stiff and rigid. She needed someone to talk to, and perhaps something to keep her mind off things. Maybe food? Maybe a good write in her journal? Maybe beating up her fluffy pillow? She didn’t know. She also hoped that her tent mates would be there. Lizzie would probably be, as she was still crying over her break up. Maybe Lydia could help her, after all she was Aaron’s best friend. Bree and Ariana would probably be up to hear her rant too.
Entering the tent Maria walked in and stomped her way to whoever was there.
Tryna solve a problem like Maria.

A Feeling So Sudden and New
Interacting with @Maria Dee
Today is the day for campfire stories! Or rather, tonight, it'll happen. Ever since she saw the little event written up in the Hogwarts itinerary, her brain started going into overdrive. Does she want to join? As much as she's tempted by the thought of consuming the sweet classic camp snack that is the s'more, she's not too confident in her writing skills. Sure her father did have a few stories here and there that he's still writing upon, but she's only written for homework and articles on the Hogwarts Headliner. Writing a story is an entire monster altogether. She has the whole day to think of joining, so she can set that ball of mild panic aside 'til the event will creep in close. For now, it's downtime in her tent.
It's not surprising for a Ravenclaw to be brandishing a quill and a book on her lap, though what is surprising (at least for Breana's case) was that she wasn't reading a book or writing notes. No, the little girl was instead drawing something, maybe practicing? Bold of her to do it in ink, but she felt confident about it. As she's trying to draw... an amalgamation of sausage fingers, her freckled ears perked up as she heard upcoming footsteps. She looked up to see Maria, the raven-haired Hufflepuff. At first, Breana just thought she looked constipated, with the way the girl furrowed her eyebrows. But why would she be here and not the lavatories? "Uhh, hey there, mate." Breana started, shifting her seat on her sleeping bag. "How's it going there, Maria?" The freckled child set aside her drawing equipment for now as she wondered what's happened to her tentmate.

A Feeling So Sudden and New
The heat of the summer was unbearable that July morning; the sun was shining high in the sky, making the air hot and sticky everywhere, no matter how still one was.- Interacting with @Breana Oliveire, @Maria Dee -
Lydia was simply lying in her bed, feeling too lazy to do anything, her forehead resting on an open book that she had been previously reading; This time, instead of the usual novel of manners, she had been reading the first book of the Shadowhunters prequels. It was set in London around the end of 1800, and the red headed girl liked being able to understand where in the city the different adventures were set. She also had to admit that Will, one of the main characters, kind of reminded her or someone...
She let out a sigh as she lifted her head from the pages and, almost as if to kill any thought about a certain boy, her eyes started scanning the tent, until they set on Breana; Lydia had been so concentrated on her book that she had shut off any kind of sound coming from around her, and she hadn’t realised the other girl was there as well.
She sat up on her bed, her back cracking slightly as she stretched a little bit, her shoulders crying out in happiness now that she wasn’t lying down on her tummy anymore.
Just as she was about to say something, a particularly upset Maria stormed inside the tent. Her face was the perfect expression of a pouty face, but even though she looked cute like that, Lydia quickly noticed her clenching and unclenching her hands.
What was going on?
“Maria, is everything okay?” Her voice was full of concern, her own eyebrows slightly furrowed now. She looked outside of the tent, somehow expecting the reason of her friend’s state to manifest. “Did something happen?”
"Everything beautiful is ruined eventually."
