Each tent in the Hogwarts encampment was bigger inside then they looked out, and the tent that was chosen by a certain small group of badgers and lions was no different.
Ten beds in all were contained inside the canvas, though only four would be needed: two beds next to each other at the back 'wall' opposite the flap where the girls would enter and exit their tent, facing each other, would be perfect little sofas if the girls so wished, and four bunk beds were placed around the edge of the tent. Each girl would be able to have both bunks to herself, although if any two would rather share of course they could.
Each bed's sheets were a different colour of pastel, with the pillow a darker shade.
Next to each bed was a small wooden table with two drawers, where its occupant could store small things that they would rather not leave in their trunk.
Around the edges of the tent was pinned a chain of twinkling fairy lights, and at the very point of its roof was hanging another chain, this one of glass beads which caught the light and twinkled a thousand different colours.
At its bottom end, the chain was attached to a very large circular white pouffe, where the girls could relax.
It was truly a magical place to start off the holidays.

Scarlett had packed the last of her belongings in her trunk, her breath seeming to catch as she exited the first-year girls dormitories. She would be back next year, of course, but a second-year. It seemed so far away when Scarlett had entered the girl's dormitories for the first time, and now she was leaving - a year older. She knew that when she was a seventh-year, of course, she would look back at this moment and laugh. But not now. For once.

Scarlett had boarded the Hogwarts Express with everyone else, chatting, moving around a lot, eating and spying on the teachers. History was made when Scarlett got a buttered popcorn flavoured bean whilst rooting around in the pack of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. Usually her luck was abysmal, but not this time - that was a good omen.

From there, she had bid goodbye to those returning to family and gleefully trekked to the Portkey with everyone else. Now, she was here and ready to start her summer.

Lucia and her had made plans for a tent, and Jo Morgan and Akina Kuroishma were now her official tent-mates. Scarlett ran past the activities once they arrived, making note to visit the barbecue and stargaze later. She arrived at their small tent, which she knew was bigger inside. Time to kick off the holidays.

Lucia was looking forward to the summer holidays, and even more so when it was announced that students could come and camp out at the Quidditch stadium in London, then watch the Durmstrang .v. Hogwarts game.
Plus, the Hogwarts team was Hufflepuff, so Lucia was showing lots of Hufflepride already - most of her wardrobe was in shades of yellows (though the girl was pretty sure the colour clashed with her eyes, it contrasted nicely with her hair) and she was currently sporting a light summer dress in a happy shade of it.
This particular Hufflepuff had just three other girls as her tent mates: Scarlett Aden (a Gryffindor whom Lucia had met once or twice but to be honest didn't know all that well), Akina Kuroshima (a fellow Hufflepuff, but on the relationship scale similar to Scarlett) and Jo Morgan (a Gryffindor again and friends with Scarlett, but Lucia had never met her). Two girls to get to know better, and one to get to know full stop. It was a perfect amount of people to share a tent with, Lucia thought. She did, however, hope there wouldn't be too much drama. The girl knew that Scarlett enjoyed playing pranks and really didn't want to know what she could get up to during a week or so in a tent.
However, she put this out of her mind for now at least and, smiling, Lucia ducked through the flap of said tent and climbed through, turning to pull her trunk in behind her. Then, she stood at the entrance, leaning on her trunk, and looked around.
She saw that the only other person here so far was Scarlett, so Lucia turned to greet her with a smile and the really original, "Hello."

Scarlett decided to enter the tent and dump her trunk inside - it was killing her. You never really do know how much you pack until you stuff it all in a trunk. She was about to try and lug her belongings inside when Lucia Fox ducked underneath the tent flap, presumably already settled inside. Then Scarlett saw the other trunk near the tent. Well that was stupid of her.

Lucia had her dark, glossy hair fanned out and she had on a bright summer dress in a shade of buttercup-yellow; probably House Pride. Hufflepuff was playing against Durmstrang at this event.

"Hello." Lucia smiled at Scarlett, leaning on her trunk which was, admittedly, large. If you could lean on your trunk, that was classified as 'big' in her book.

"Hi,"
said Scarlett unable to not smile at the thought of the summer. Sure, she couldn't be in Godric's Hollow with the Troop, but this was her chance to make new friends. Jo Morgan and Akina Kuroishma were definitely new, and Lucia was around the 'Positive Acquaintance' level. "How are you doing here so far?"

Scarlett definitely wanted to go stargazing - and crafting! - and barbecuing! Just not chess. Sorry, just no.

Again, sorry for the late reply @Scarlett Aden xD
"I'm doing ok," Lucia told Scarlett. "Just think, when we go back next year we'll be Second Years! And one of my sisters will be coming next year as well, Bree can't wait."
The girl smiled, thinking of how excited her younger sister was to enter the halls of what she was sure was the greatest magical school in all of the world. Lucia had to say that she agreed.
"Do you know anyone who'll be coming next year?" Lucia asked her Gryffindor friend curiously. It would be nice if she did - then maybe they and Bree would be able to meet up over the summer and they would know each other in preparation for the year... No. No, Briar would refuse to do such an embarrassing thing and would probably spend her holidays trying to learn all the spells for the next year - out of Lucia's books, no less.
Looking around, the Huffle saw that no-one seemed to have claimed a bed yet. "Do you have your eye on any particular bed?" she asked, mainly for politeness' sake. She knew that she wanted the light blue one near the entrance, although if Scarlett had already claimed it she guessed she couldn't really do anything about it.

Jo hauled her bags inside, relieved that she wasn't too late - there were only two girls inside the tent. It had taken a lot of courage to join a tent full of students she didn't know, but nobody she knew had invited her to theirs, and to be honest the Gryffindor was slightly flattered that she had been invited to a tent at all, even if such a casual invitation meant little to other students.

As she entered and looked around, something dawned on her. There was something wrong - the tent...er...shouldn't be like this. She stuck her head back outside, and then inside once more.

"Oh. Wow. It's...It's bigger on the inside."

Made sense. No wonder the tents had been so small - Jo had been a bit worried when she first approached the camp. Although she tried to hide her shock (an embarrassing way to reveal the mundane nature of her childhood), it took her a while to adjust her mind to the physics of a pocket-dimension, during which she must have looked like Dorothy, mouth agape at the sight of the marvelous Oz.

Looking around the tent, the girl quickly espied a bunk bed in the corner - a fresh and minty pastel green. Nice, she thought. I'm going for that one if they let me.

It was best not to get too ahead of herself - there was always the possibility that the occupant of each beds had been predetermined, or connected in some way to the students' House Color, like everything always seemed to be. The rest of the tent looked very feminine and pretty, what with fairy lights and glass beads and whatnot. Internally, she couldn't help but be surprised that none of the decorations were magical in nature. The lioness had grown so used to the school's flamboyant ornamentation style that she almost found the simplicity of the tent nostalgic. Almost. Perhaps she would have felt so if not for the magical nature of the tent itself.

"Hello." She offered from near the entranceway, hoping she would soon be welcome enough to make herself at home, or at least venture further into the tent.
