Melancholy Hill
Melancholy steps gently echoed throughout the fairly empty room, the warm afternoon sun's rays casting the room in a warm glow. The frame that was Griffin White found the silence of the deserted room comforting, he could think more clearly here than he could in the common room.
If he were entirely honest Griffin felt somewhat lonely in this large castle. Sure he was known by most of the pure blood wizards and witches, but he sure as heck didn't know them.He had not remembered their names when they visited his home at White Manor and he wasn't about to start now.
He had only managed to remember the names and faces of a handful of them, tolerating a few, despising some, and only considering one or two to as friends.
A small sigh slipped from his lips as he let slow and deliberate footfalls bring him closer to the many training dummies standing bunched together in the corner, the afternoon light casting deep shadows on those hard expressionless features.
Turning sharply on his heel, Griffin takes a few steps back, away from the training dummy. Back straight and rigid as he reached into the inside pocket of his robes to retrieve his wand. Griffin swifty turns back to the wooden man, wand held at shoulder length in a delicate yet firm grip, vaguely reminiscent of a classic fencers grip.
His wand would trace the pattern required for the Reducio charm, a downward facing arrowhead motion, with a sharp snap of his right hand's wrist "Reducio!" he'd state clearly moments before watching in satisfaction as the dummy rapidly shrunk in size, stopping to stand just above the height of your regular chicken.
A small smile pulled to his features as he crossed back to the training dummy to drop into a crouch directly in front of it to raise his wand, prodding the figure with childish amusement.

Melancholy Hill
The late afternoon was warm and pleasant, the blue skies barely showing a hint of clouds. The sun was out, however looming closer to eventide. And although the day was a few hours away from its end, the worn out Slytherin, Kira Callaghan, had been unable to find anything the least bit fun to do. She had gone to her dorm room for refuge, away from the rowdy Slytherins who had taken over the common room, but had found that her roommates had decided to play a game, quite loudly, mind you. And so, resting for the remainder of the day was not an option for Kira.
The library, too, was not an option. Kira had already read most of the books there, however the books found in the restricted area were an exception, of course. And so, Kira headed towards the only place she absolutely knew no other students would think to go.
Swift, silent footsteps through the near empty corridors headed towards the duelling room. Kira strolled past hallways with large openings which served as windows in some ways, and some halls with those odd moving paintings and portraits. As she walked, her pale, slim fingers worked her sleeves, rolling them up above her elbows. Her green Slytherin robes and grey sweater had been discarded and left on her bed earlier on, leaving her in her white polo top and skirt.
Kira had decided that if she were to go to the duelling room, she might as well practice her combat skills and spells.
The room's doors finally came into view, taking Kira a few more steps before she finally stood face to face with the large oak doors which loomed above her. Her small hands would rest upon the door's handles, before pushing them and opening the entrance. She stepped into the large room, her heels tapping against the polished, hard floor. The sun's rays immediately beam against her, warming up her skin that had gone cold on her small journey through the chilly hallways.
Kira's peacock blue eyes scan the room of which she had assumed would be dead empty, until her gaze lands upon the boy with ashen locks in the corner of the room, crouched in front of what appeared to be a shrunken training dummy.

The faint scrapping of wooden door across stone floor would catch the edges of Griffin's attention, enough to make him aware that someone had opened the door, but not enough to make him immediately turn around to face newcomer.
His arrogance perhaps showing through, the ashen haired wizard would continue his juvenile prodding of the wooden construct. Turning his head slightly to his right in a disguised attempt to view the intruder, Griffin would note the skirt peeking into his peripheral vision. It's a shame, now I'll have to be civil. he dryly said to himself, already envisioning his mother's stern gaze and internally flinching as her scolding words resurfaced in his mind. "Now who might you be?" he'd inquire of the girl, his tone holding a trace of what some might confuse with warmth, those would were well acquainted with him on the other hand would know this to be false, simply the first small step in gaining a person's trust...only to use them later, but that's beside the point.
Finally toppling the training dummy over, Griffin would return his wand back into his inside pocket whilst form straightened to stand upright once more, his foot flicking forward to kick the shrunken dummy away from him, sending it skidding across the floor to rest between its regular sized brethren.
