Name: Regina Miller

Rumor: Regina's father, Alfred Miller, is convicted as a prime suspect in Beatrice Barett's (his brother-in-law's spouse and Regina's aunt) sudden and mysterious death last year. Regina and her siblings were requested to return to London in the middle of their school year to undergo questioning and attended their Father's trials. The Miller patriarch was ultimately declared innocent, but only because the Auror investigators could not find any evidence linked to him. He is still considered suspicious, and the conspiracies traveled in whispers throughout the Pureblood high society of Britain--putting a stain on the House of Miller's reputation. This prompts the students at Hogwarts, mostly those also within the Pureblood community, to question whether or not Regina could be a potential criminal like her Father as well, or if she supported his actions, because of how loyal she is to her family.
Date Rumor started: September 1st, 2022, the same day of Regina's return to Hogwarts for her second year
Date when Rumor will fade away: Sometime after the upcoming Hexwizard Tournament
Character reaction: Regina would pointedly ignore the cautious glances shot her way, and if somebody approaches her about the subject, she would send them away with a cold sneer and a snarky comment of how foolish the person is for believing baseless rumours and sticking their nose into other people's private matters.

Name: Scarlett Aden

Rumor: Scarlett started a cult with the mermaids of the Great Lake worshipping the Giant Squid. This rumour may or may not have been started by Scarlett herself.
Date Rumor started: Around the beginning of second year, when she started spending more time at the lake and may or may not have decided to start a rumour about herself.
Date when Rumor will fade away: Unsure, but probably not for a long time, like in fourth year summer.
Character reaction: Smirking, "you'll never know", all that jazz.

Name: Jacob Harman

Rumor: SCARAB is in truth a new Pure-Blood Supremacist movement, which framed Harry Potter and lied about their true motives.
Date Rumor started: It was all started by Jacob Harman when he returned to Hogwarts after the train compartment attack and was spread to the rest of the Wizarding World by his mother.
Date when Rumor will fade away: It will fade away as soon as the Hexwizard Tournament is over
Character reaction: Jacob wouldn't be surprised if it is what he thinks it is since he started the rumor, to begin with.

Name: Piérre Marchonné

Rumor(s): I feel that most rumors following Piérre would concern his origins and his life before hogwarts because he hasn't mentioned it at all (I don't think I've mentioned it ic to anyone who is still active)...
1. Piérre is part of The Family
The accent, nationality, the dressing habits, and the unsettling ability to almost be anywhere at once (and also be a catalyst for more than a few dramas), how could he not be!? He even has a bouncer brother!
2. Piérre is a circus runaway/his family is circus folk.
He's just... He's too colorful and obviously too theatrical and swirly not to be one of those travelling folk. Why else would he disappear and reappear so randomly?
3. Piérre has no confirmed house/he's a clone.
There's not just one Piérre. There are four, and there's one in each house. How else could you explain the same looking person in all of the house colors at any given moment?
4. Piérre doesn't exist/is a bad omen
Apparently there's this eccentric kid that you don't want to run into. Why? I dunno. They say bad things happen when he's around. I don't think he's real.
Date Rumor started: Any of them could have started at any time, but #4 likely started at the start of his 3rd year when he disappeared the first semester, and #3 is probably only a deception among younger year students (as his own class and older would probably know his little trick of switching up his uniforms)
Date when Rumor will fade away: Likely until Piérre denies them, or he shares the truth (perhaps never)
Character reaction: Piérre loves letting people think what they want about him. It gives him more of a fantastical, "I am whatever you want to make of me."sort of persona. He is the fool and the Jester, after all.

Name: Lucia Fox

Rumor: Lucia, her sisters, and her mother are part-Veela or have some sort of Veela ancestry.
Date Rumor started: Essentially ever since Lucia's mother attended Hogwarts
Date when Rumor became mainstream: It isn't currently, but it will do during the summer (will give you a date then) when Lucia's family will become more well-known in the wizarding community.
Character reaction: If it's mentioned or she's asked about it, Lucia either ignores it or changes the subject as fast as possible. However, if someone presses her for an answer they'll recieve something like 'of course not!' or 'no, why?' accompanied by a slightly nervous or strained laugh. Luckily, she isn't questioned about it much.

Name: Autumn Ivy

Rumor: Autumn's pale skin, avoidance of sunlight and the uneasy feeling people get when around her has lead to the rumour that she is a dhampir.
Date Rumor started: It will begin sometime near the end of her first year. The threads backdating to the creation and sharing of the rumour will be made in the near future.
Date when Rumor will fade away: TBD
Character reaction: Autumn thinks it's funny, remains neutral in her external reactions and refuses to give much information about the topic.

Name: Andrew Vance (ft. Jack Warren)

Rumor: Andrew and Jack got into a fight. Names connecting the two are largely forgotten, as they've seemed to avoid each other ever since. A ghost of a rumor, barely clinging to relevance by the occasional inquiry into Jack's scar. Only a few eyewitnesses, little birds and confidantes would know that it is Andrew's handiwork on Jack's face. How the two managed to evade punishment in a classroom full of witnesses, how their fight went unreported, are the real mysteries.

Character reaction: She smirks about it, but get's a little annoying if you keep asking her about it. Or if people avoid her because of it, she'll get so annoyed. If someone kept asking her over and over, she would slap them.

Name: Hunter Argentum

Rumor: Hakeem Argentum, Hunter's father, has been making a greater name for himself lately. Due to his pureblood nature, more talk about the Argentum bloodline has been spoken about and looked into. Some have taken notice that the Argentum family line has been known to help treat those with Lycanthropy or kill those afflicted with it. Word of this has reached pureblood students, but somewhere a miscommunication on information has occurred. As such, a rumor has begun to spread that Hunter and his family are actually Werewolf killers and that Hunter himself has come to Hogwarts to pinpoint who is afflicted with the illness.

Character reaction: He will either ignore your comment or try and ask your opinion on Lycanthropes and why you care. He will begin to take note of what your character will say.

Rumor: Aurora put some extract of the blood of the enemy to her chocolates and eats them every single day, that's why she radiates the terrible presence

Name: Quinn Root
Encyclopedia Link: Is this a link?
Rumor: Quinn Root is a Metamorphmagus. Quinn seems like a normal girl. She has hazel eyes, Brown hair that falls close to her shoulders. Nothing out of the ordinary... Most people know that her aunt and grandmother were metamorphmagus, And her mother was not. So people assume that Quinn is not one. Until they see her eyes turn into a shade of Red or plum. They think their eyes are playing tricks on them.
Date Rumor started: Early to mid first year.
Date when Rumor will fade away: When it's common knowledge, Or people stop caring, Or when Quinn starts showing the ability.
Character reaction: When asked about it Quinn dose not deny it "Yes, I am a Metamorphmagus. I don't see the big deal about it?" You will most likely get that reaction. Or she will respond by changing her hair to a different color. She doesn't like it, She thinks people will think shes weird. But if you ask she will show it.

Date when Rumor became mainstream: Mid second-year, as he began to make more bad impressions.
Character reaction: If someone were to bring it up, he’d likely say nothing and show no expression, allowing the person to believe whatever they’d like, though he knows the rumor is false. He sometimes enjoys the way it gives him peace, as people don’t usually want to talk to “trouble,” but it can get lonely at times and gives people a reason to be rude to him (if he hasn’t given them one already).

Rumor: Opeila has a crush on Vladimir Athanatos and works with him
Date Rumor started: Last year blossom ball as she went there with him, so sometime in April 2020?
Date when Rumor became mainstream: The fightclub in summercamp 2020, where Victor Moore just told half of Slytherin about Opeila's accidental part in the spider attack in February 2020. Since Opeila was also in a relationship with Percival Rainwood at that point, so she got herself a reputation as heartbreaker. That rumor was likely refreshed when Vladimir let himself get beaten to the point of almost bleeding out in an attempt to defend Opeila during the train heist in January 2021, when she was taken hostage by one of the intruders.

Name: Selim Faust

Rumor: I will be having different exaggerations of this rumor listed in this section. All will be examples of how an NPC could word the rumor.

No exaggeration: "I heard that Selim Faust got in a fight with Victor Moore, and killed him in self-defence last year."

Mild Exaggeration: '"I heard that last year Selim Faust killed Victor Moore."

Strong Exaggeration: "I heard that last year, Selim Faust killed Victor Moore for no reason!"

Extreme Exaggeration: "I heard that last year, Selim Faust suddenly went completely insane and killed Victor Moore in cold blood!"

(Variations of these exaggerations can be used at one's leisure, the core message is just that Selim killed Victor. One can add that it happened at the fight club if they want. The names of the two of them can be switched out for more vagueness like 'I heard last year that some student killed another student *insert exaggerations here* if one wants)
Date Rumor started: Around June 3 2020
Date when Rumor will fade away: Approximatly around May 2022
Character Reaction: If one can even find the elusive Selim Faust and confront him about the rumour, he'll remain silent and staring through his creepy rabbit mask until that person leaves. If they don't leave he'll speak these words if you're lucky; "Perhaps I did, but far worse tragedies have gone unnoticed in this school. Maybe, for once, you should step back and see this place for what it truly is, what it truly holds, instead of blindly continuing your useless life ignorant of the word around you."

If luck is not on one's side though, his voice will be curt and tired as he responds. "If that is the only tragedy you've focused on in this school, you are truly a fool." If one continues to bother him about it, he will most definitely threaten bodily harm against them, and he has the skills to back it up.

Either way, he cleverly distracts the confronter to avoid giving a solid answer.

After these words he'd leave, disappearing back into the depths of the school.

(One can choose either of these answers, in the end though, Selim would retreat both physically, and verbally from the question.)

The rumour might've become mainstream when school started this year (2020) but it would've drop out of mainstream gossip after the Fall Ball, which likely took the spotlight on the grapevine

Rumor: Henry is always sneaking away to do something that he shouldn't be doing.... oddly days before a full moon it gets harder to find the boy. Some believe he's planning a prank or sneaking out of the castle somewhere or teaching himself advanced spells to use in his next duel... but one thing is clear the closer it comes to a full moon the less Henry Knight is seen which is suspicious
Date Rumor started: October 31st, 2020 - the night of the lockdown by whispers when Henry Knight appeared to turn up missing in his common room that night but no one really knew if he was missing....
Date when Rumor will fade away: Summer of 2022 or before fourth year when another rumor comes out about him...
Character reaction: Henry wouldn't put a lot of thought into it if he hears whispers about it, he would just ignored it and give them a smile but if he's asked then he'll probably pass it off as nothing and smile and act friendly as usual

• "Best friends". Thick as thieves, pretty much a constant pair since the first night of their first year at Hogwarts.
• They were each other's dates for the 2020 Fall Ball.
• The most incriminating of all: 8 Feb 2020, the two could be spotted holding hands, walking barefoot together around the Castle and grounds, having a romantic dinner in the Hall. Obvious PDA (no snogging tho). Since then, their friendship has continued on as normal as if nothing had ever happened. Still, their bromance does not help quell those rumors in the slightest.
  *Those who could tell the signs would know that Andy was under the influence of a Love Potion.
