Wren walked slowly towards the doors leading to the ballroom. It was late now, and the movie had surely already started. She had lost sight of Paisley a long time ago, but she had a feeling that she was going to be able to spot the girl in the ballroom. I shouldn't be worried. She looked like she was having fun with her other friends. The corridors were practically empty now with very few people left wandering about. A few of them seemed to going back to their common rooms as they looked like they would fall asleep at any moment. Others were just talking with their friends, eating some of the candy in their bag. It was eerily quiet in the hallway, though there was a bit of noise coming from the ballroom.

Reaching the doors, Wren pushed them open and stepped inside. The movie was already playing, and students were spread out across the floor. Talking quietly with friends and eating their candy. There were two tables on the sides of the room, piled with different types of drinks and treats. There were cupcakes and other candies, as well as chocolate covered pretzels. There were so many treats that she couldn't even count them all. On the other side of the table there was a bunch of drinks. Pumpkin juice, lemonade, and so much more. Feeling slightly overwhelmed by all the choices, Wren decided to just leave them be for the moment and retreated to a corner of the ballroom. There were several pillows on the ground, unused by anyone. Pulling one over to her, she leaned up against it and began watching the movie. It was a horror movie, no doubt. She noticed that a few students looked a little tense as they watched. Wren had never been scared easily by anything, so the movie seemed like all other ones.

The movie went on for a long time, and it was a whole before Wren even remembered her bag of candy. Opening her bag, she pulled out one of the candies she got in divination. It was really sweet as she put it in her mouth, and she almost instantly felt like she had to much energy. Well, it's halloween. She thought, swallowing the first one and pulling out a second one. By the time the movie was over, she had so much energy that she didn't know if she could sleep that night. That was a lot of fun, though. She thought as she walked out of the ballroom. Maybe hogwarts wasn't so bad after all.

What had Damion found himself in? Halloween had been his favorite holiday. The dressing up and the candies. Wow. He enjoyed it when he was back in Wales. He had loved doing this stuff with Dylan. Dylan and Damion were a good pair of friends. He loved spending time with Dylan. Ever since he had come here he had not been able to spend that much time with Dylan as much as he would have wanted. He had not stopped writing to him. Something about Dylan's personality kept Damion drawn to him. He didn't know what it was, but yeah he waited for Dylan's response very eagerly.

He had received the latest letter from Dyllie. He was super excited to read it and reply back. Since he was waiting for the movie to start and was sitting there in the ballroom he decided that he might read it. A happy tear fell down his face.

Damii was very happy reading Dyllie's letter. He was happy that Dyllie was doing good too. He took a quill and letter sheet and wrote his own reply to it. He would post the letter later but he was going to write it right now so that he would have it ready to be posted.

As she made her way with the group towards the Ballroom, Lydia's imagination was running wild: which movie would they play, would there be a lot of people all dressed up for Halloween, and would there be even more candy? Her spirit was definitely high, as a bright smile had found its way over her lips; she really couldn't wait to eat all of those candies while chilling with her best friend and her new friends. She was also really happy they had decided to go on this trick or treat tour with Zyk and Eyre; it was nice spending time with them, and Aaron seemed to like them as well.

Once she saw the incredible decorations that adorned the corridor that lead to the Ballroom, Lydia had to admit that a small shiver ran down her spine; it wasn't as if she was scared, but the smoke, the tunnel with the cobwebs and the candle lights definitely did their job in properly setting the mood for a spooky night. Walking more along the corridor, once they reached the end of it, the Ballroom was almost unrecognisable in front of them: creepy trees were everywhere, the lights incredibly low, and the whole "haunted forest" look definitely did their job; Lydia quickly walked closer to her best friend, her eyes looking around almost expecting something, or someone, to jump out and scare them all.

For a second she had almost forgotten that they were still inside the castle, so when she saw Professor Karr, dressed up as a pirate, Lydia was -for a millisecond- confused, before she offered the professor a polite smile. Looking between the different options for the bag, she decided to go for a Ghost one and she happily accepted it, before moving along with her group. The rest of the ballroom look as amazing as everything else: the chandelier that was swaying on the ceiling, the incredible amount of candies and sweets on the tables, together with the drinks, the movie playing with the projector and the blankets and pillows on the floor... everything looked wonderful, with the right amount of scary.

"I think I'll go get some lemonade!" she said to her group, before quickly running towards the table and pour herself a glass of the drink. After that, she quickly made her way back to her friends, as her eyes scanned the room. "What do you think, should we sit down on some blankets and pillows? I haven't seen this movie yet, but I know that it's the kind of movie my parents used to watch during Halloween night," she asked as she motioned with her head towards the blankets on the ground.

"Everything beautiful is ruined eventually."

Having just come from the lack-luster Divinations area, Zyk felt a little let down this Hallows Eve. It wasn't until he and his companions reached the hallway leading into the Ballroom that Zykeals spirits were lifted once more; the area seemingly transformed. Stopping just before the hallway that leads into the ballroom, seeing the transformation that the teachers made to the entranceway, he stopped his walking and let the others go before him, "This is what I'm talkin' bout," he offered approvingly, "I'll catch up to you guys in a minute," he said, a devilish grin lit upon his features.

Waiting till the others moved in and there was a clear entrance to walk through, the spider-webs and red lighting brightening the dark hall, he'd halt the rotation of the wand that was within his fingers. Settling the hilt into the palm of his hand, a rash decision was made and the second-year flicked that ivory-white colored aspen wood wand directly down the middle of the hall and said aloud, "Periculum," and out of the tip of his wand shot the red sparks charm down the middle of the hall. Zyk made off in a run then, following the bright light of his spell and emerged out of the tunnel to the ballroom. At the end of his sprint, following the red sparks charm, he made a jump and landed with his arms and legs spread apart standing straight up.

"HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEEEEN!!!" he yelled.

Although he was very reserved normally, this was his favorite holiday and it seemed to bring out the devilish side of him. The boy, being dawned in the nerdiest muggle outfit he could come up with, was looking like a complete fool when standing there yelling. This didn't bother him a bit. With his entrance made, he took his hand holding his wand and flicked the tip of it against his helicopter blade hat and made the blades spin. Running over towards his group that he let get ahead of him, he smirked, "Sorry bout that'," he said amusingly, looking over towards the two Huffles who probably tried to keep as low-key as any other Badger tried to do. Expecting Eyre to just be laughing at him, he offered a soft punch to the boy's upper arm and then shifted to look around the area at large, "Where the hell are we?" he questioned, his head cocking to the side as he gazed upon the scene.

Seeing spooky looking trees, his instant thought was to go and try and collect wood to make a gnarly looking faux-wand; how cool would that look? Instead, though, he kept with the others and watched as Lydia bounced off for a moment. Eyes traveled across the area and he slightly hoped that he could say 'hi' to Dee and Ileen, but, they were nowhere in sight. Looking over to Aaron then, he asked, "Hey, can you grab me a bag too mate?" he questioned, "Dun' care which," he'd follow up with. Those bags really weren't the real treat for him here, it was the atmosphere, the scenery, the general vibe of the holiday that was upon them.

When Lydia returned and asked her question, he nodded thinking it to be a good idea, "Yeah, but, you being the super-hot ghost thingy gots' to pick the spot'," he blatantly said. Looking over at Aaron once more, slightly worried, "Oh, no offense mate," he shrugged, "ain't tryin' to take ya' girl, she's just fit, ya?," his Irish accent coming out a little. Zyk nodded once more, "Got my own thing brewin'," he offered up, trying to reassure the little spaceman. With all settled right in his mind, he'd plop down on whatever blanket the girl in the group decided and dragged Eyre along with him so that they could sit next to each other.

After a full night of trick or treating, and getting an inevitable trick herself in the form of rather staticky hair, Theo finally arrived at the great hall for the movie night. Seeing as this was her first halloween at Hogwarts, she wasn't really sure what to expect in terms of celebrations, but this was a rather nice surprise. She was used to the muggle way of doing things- going to school during the day, and trick or treating in your neighborhood at night. Now that she was at a boarding school for witches and wizards, things were a bit different. However, she did miss some aspects of muggle halloween.

Above all, Theodora missed her friends. Every halloween they would all dress up together, spend the entire night trick or treating and end up in the living room of one of their family homes, trading candies and eating until they were sick. While she had a few acquaintances at Hogwarts, none were as close to her as her muggle friends were. On top of that, she missed her parents little halloween history lessons and older brothers affinity for ghost stories. It was her first halloween away from home and the reality of it was really setting in for Theo as the night came to an end.

As she entered, there was an assortment of gift bags to choose from near the entrance. Theo opted for the Ghost goodie bag. Not for any particular reason, of course- it was just random luck of the draw. After getting her bag, Theo wandered over to one of the now empty piles of pillows and blankets, taking up the entire pile for herself. It was likely meant for a group of students to enjoy, but the surely did not give a single damn about that. The pile of pillow and blankets would prove to be much more comfortable than the solo ones, and seeing as she'd put herself in a rather dreary mood, she needed the extra comfort. Theo sat herself down in the pile, letting out a deep sigh before pulling a couple layers of blankets over her body. Once she was sufficiently covered and cozy, the young witch dipped her hand into her halloween candy bag and pulled out a chocolate bar to indulge in while the movie played. It was an old movie- something her mother surely would have enjoyed watching. However, that was a thought Theo tried not to linger on too much. Instead, she wanted to just enjoy the remainder of her night, eating herself sick as she had so many years in the past- except this time, alone.

With a bucket full of candy and sugary delights to last her about two days, she headed down to the Ballroom. She had caught a glimpse of it coming in and was generally really nervous about walking through the tunnel that the Professors had created. It was a moment that made Willow wish she had gone with someone else for once in that night. But no, she was strong and independent at a ripe age of twelve years old. She didn't need anyone to hold her hand. The brave badger held her head up high as she tried to nonchalantly skitter through the tunnel as quick as she could. The fire didn't really scare her anymore, the cobwebs were fine, but it was really what might've lurked in the darkness that terrified her.

At the end of the tunnel she plucked a Jack-O-Lantern treat bag and tossed that in with her bucket. The movie of Nosferatu had already started and she didn't want to interrupt or disturb anyone's movie time so she quickly slinked over to the snack table to gear up for the rest of the movie since it had just started. Willow would normally not drink anything but water or tea this late, but she opted in for some pumpkin juice for the occasion poured into a black cup for an extra spooky effect. Extra snacks were taken like a couple of chocolate covered pretzels, some gummy candy, a multi-eyed rice krispie, and a ghost cookie. Briefly she wondered if the skeleton was also candy, but figured if he was still in tact with everyone that had already arrived that was probably not the case.

With her armfuls of goodies and drink prepared to go she slowly made her way over to the area that had been set up with an incredibly amount of blankets and pillows. She wished she had this many in the common room, truly this should've been what the Hufflepuff common room looked like. Ducking her head under the projector she found a particularly cozy pile and settled in for the movie. It wasn't exactly her taste as she preferred Disney movies, like one of her moms favorites Hocus Pocus. Even though the next time she would go home would be way past the time for that movie, she made a note in her head to ask her parents if they could watch it together in her next owl home.

When it came time to pack up and leave she would be proper hopped up on sugar and happy to head to her warm cozy hammock to snuggle up with Buttons and dream some candyland dreams.

Many regarded dance as an art form - an outlet for creativity and expression. But, Val felt that the only feeling she'd expressed throughout her Irish stepdance to the ballroom was pure distress. Her try at slipping another candy out of the cauldron had landed her in this unfavorable predicament with one of the Ravenclaws she'd trick-or-treated with, Elias, trailing not too far behind. In her embarrassment, the young girl had aimed to stun an orange-haired Elias by swinging at his head with the pillowcase that held the sweets she'd accumulated over the night. Perhaps, in retrospect, she should've gone about it differently. The cauldron itself would've done much more damage if she had the strength to topple it over to fall on his foot.

If her circumstances had differed, perhaps Val would linger in the smoke-filled tunnel to truly appreciate the eerie atmosphere. But, the smoke now only served as an inconvenience in her rush to undo the curse that had befallen her. Her feet felt as though they would fall off at any second, and there appeared to be no end to the tunnel. Soon, though, she emerged on the other end, the lights dimmed and the room bustling with activity as others made the final stop to the ballroom for the film.

Lifting her pillowcase to obscure her features as she approached the librarian, Val's dance came across as more of a stumble. In a futile attempt to spare her last few shreds of dignity, the Slytherin girl said that the curse had been meant for a peer, and she'd mistakenly been hit with it in their place. It made no sense, and the woman that had freed her of the hex had most certainly been aware of the truth, but before she could be discredited, Val ran off with an uncharacteristically nervous, jumbled up excuse about needing to select her goodie bag. That much hadn't been a lie, at least. In her rush to have her hex removed, she'd forgone the process of taking a bag at the end of the tunnel entirely.

Upon reaching the Astronomy professor, out-of-breath, Val looked over the selection of goodie bags. Ultimately, she chose the spider decoration, pulling it up to her eyes to properly look over before trailing over to one of the raised tales holding sweets and drinks. The selection was enticing, but Val's mother had warned her of cavities. The thought of one seemed more nightmarish than any of the scares Halloween had to offer, but...

A cupcake couldn't hurt. The girl felt that it'd been deserved, seeing how much she'd gone through over the night. Though Callie had been close by, Val chose to disregard her presence entirely out of pure spite. Pulling up a chocolate cupcake with vibrant orange frosting to daintily nibble at, Val stood back as the night continued on.

Abilities : Lovely Creature & Unsettling Aura (ON)

From within a corner of the ballroom, a pair of watchful eyes observed the room from behind a leather mask. A mask that seemed to resemble the peak of a penguin, peeking from underneath a black, just as leathery, tophat. It wouldn't be too clear who she was and Nico didn't mind that. Her red hair was tucked away, invisible to the eye.

She wasn't really out for interactions. She just wanted to make sure that things went smoothly and nothing too outrageous would take place. In her leatherlike gloves, she carried an old fashioned lantern and in her other, a walking cane with a quartz knob. A stone that stood close to her heart as it resembled self-care and peace. Ironicly, tonight her unsettling aura was rather present. It would add a more... well... unsettling vibes for many. Might make the movie even more real...The dhampir didn't really care. Not for all of them. Maybe a few. A handful.

Within the fog, some would notice a vague red glow coming from within the goggles of her mask. Nico wasn't necesarrily upset. She mimicked some sort of rage and set her eyes aflame, adding an extra bit of spookiness to her attire.

As things went on, the dhampir would slowely walk around, moving throught the decorations to occasionally startle someone or to just be on guard.

As Aaron and his companions for the evening arrived at the ballroom, the hallway seemed a little bit daunting. More spiderwebs and smoke and candles. It certainly set the mood, and with no other way into the ballroom aside from this hallway, it put all the students in the right mindset. Before he could continue walking into the room, Zykeal excused himself and took it upon himself to go first. Aaron's dark brown eyes widened as he sent a spell flying down the tunnel and ran after the red sparks. "He sure knows how to make an entrance!" Aaron said to Lydia and Eyre, offering a funny grin as they all heard Zyk yell Happy Halloween.

The trio followed the ringleader down the spooky hallway and came out on the other side to find the neatly decorated ballroom. There were spooky trees on the walls and floating pumpkins - jack o'lanterns in fact! - and skulls above their heads. So many people were there already, settled around on the blankets and pillows. They were greeted by Professor Karr - the Astronomy professor - and when she offered them goodie bags, Aaron smiled brightly at her. "Thank you, professor!"

Aaron ended up choosing the mummy goodie bag and pocketed it as he and the others entered the ballroom further. A glance at the movie screen led him to being slightly disappointed by the choice of an unfamiliar black-and-white movie, but he was happy to have the company around him. His best friend and two new Gryffindor friends. A further glance around revealed the snack tables, which of course prompted a pointed finger from the young Hufflepuff who was a growing boy and constantly hungry.

"I'm gonna grab some food!" he said after Lydia excused herself to get lemonade. He went over to one of the food tables near her, and loaded a plate full of cupcakes and chocolate-covered pretzels - enough to share with everyone. As he rejoined the others, Lydia was asking if they should choose a spot to sit in. He nodded in confirmation, stuffing one of the pretzels into his mouth. It was at this point that Zykeal decided to turn to Aaron and make it clear he wasn't trying to steal "his girl" and called Lydia fit. Aaron's eyes widened and he started to choke, turning away from the group as he coughed and tried to clear his throat. After a scary couple of seconds, he managed to get the pretzel unstuck from his throat and down to his stomach.

He turned back to the group, his face a bit red from the whole ordeal. "We're just friends - best friends," he said to Zyk, avoiding his eye as he followed the group to one of the blankets. He made sure to leave a fair amount of distance between himself and Lydia - not wanting to give Zyk further fuel for the fire he had started. He instead pretended to focus on the movie. "I wish they had chosen a movie with color," he said to the group, trying to change the subject and draw attention away from himself.

Hanako’s eyes widened at her unexpected reply. She wouldn’t leave him unless he wanted her to? Was that not what he said in the beginning? Did the vague sentences he used before just a way to blame it on his personality again? He always thought his personality was a good enough reason for people to leave but did was there a time he asked if he liked them to leave? Was it even something to be questioned about? How long had he placed a period on his thought process so it never got to the point of asking himself what he wanted? To want something, he thought, was a way to get invested. Invested in a person that might make you fly high up the clouds or down the grimiest sewers. He didn’t like those changes so he never asked. He wondered if this was something that needed to be changed but just the thought of him made him flinch. So he never answered if he really wanted her to stay or not. How could he when he himself wasn’t so sure?

She also said she had fun with him. Probably because he was the only one with her though? Trick-o-treating was always better with others, especially if he himself thought so. Hanako had a few troubles comprehending what on earth he would’ve done to make himself actually enjoyable to be around. He would’ve continued to do so if not for the change of expression that feel on Rod’s face.

He was always so used to seeing her smile and be enthusiastic about everything that it felt unnatural of her to look so shaken. What got her into this state? Before he could even wonder more, his hands moved on their own and very gently, flicked her forehead. While he didn’t have enough time to catch his hands, he knew that he just didn’t like seeing her look like that. Besides, he was most likely the reason why she ever had to wear such a face. “ If I hated you for something you did, surely you would guess that I have absolutely no problems with telling you straight to your face. “ With only the assumption that she would be distraught over his sudden suggestion, he wasn’t entirely sure if that’s what she needed to hear but then again, he wasn’t the best when it came to comforting people.

Unlike before, there was no twinge in his chest nor the sudden desire to run or insult her when she looked upset. Nothing except the urge to make things clear. Other than his whole fake identity of course. “ I don’t think I can change your mind about me yet. But I trust you to make your own conclusions. You seem like a smart cookie, you’ll figure it out~” he shrugged, his confidence slowly coming back to him. She’ll find out sooner or later. That he wasn’t someone to keep around for too long. “ We still have that movie and hang-out. If you still find it fun to be with me, we can do that?” He gestured to the area where the movie had been playing. He easily gave up on insisting he was no good since it seemed like people tended to believe the things they found out themselves. It was no biggie. He had something he wanted to find out concerning little miss Adlai Rod as well. He wasn’t sure how he’d be able to meet her with a paper bag but he’ll leave that problem for future Papa MacarooOni to figure out. “ How about it?~” while his expression may have been concealed, his lighthearted tone had shown how hopeful he was. It wouldn’t be too bad to watch a movie with the weird girl.
