The ball had started over 2 hours ago, Jade hadn't wanted to go, she thought it would be a waste of time so she'd stayed in the dorm by herself; she had her own plans to complete some tasks. When she'd finished her 'to do' list, she'd decided she should check how Sapphy was doing with her date at the masquerade. Before leaving, she made herself more presentable, rather than arriving in a hoodie and leggings, her long, ginger hair was tied in a plait, she'd donned a fancy blouse and changed her leggings for skinny jeans (not much difference but she thought it looked smarter). Of course, she wore her favourite combat boots and headed out.
As she walked through the 4th floor corridors, she could her the excited babble getting louder as she headed to the ballroom. On her way, she passed the rehearsal room (where the costume party was being held) and saw giggling children carving pumpkins, ugh,it made her shiver at the thought of childish activities. However when she saw the Ballroom, she was taken aback, the organisers had put a lot of effort into the masquerade. It was stunning, she liked it more than she thought and decided she should stay after all, she might even go for a dance with her friends later. Jay saw Sapphire dancing with her date, a smile plastered on her face, Jay guessed she hadn't made a fool of herself, Sapphy was fine, Jade might be able to have fun after all. Before heading to the dance floor, Jay decided she should find her friends so kept to the edges of the room as to avoid the happy couples waltzing around the room. As Jay passed the small refreshment table and chairs, she noticed her family-friend Lucia Fox standing there, talking to three others, one of which was none other than the wretched LILY CAWTHI! Jade was outraged that someone like Lucia would interact with an inferior breed! She walked over to the girls, "Hi Lucia, how are you, I'm surprised to see you here actually, I thought you wouldn't want to come, to be honest I didn't at first!" all this time Jade just ignored Cawthi "I know I shouldn't interfere in your choices but you do realise, that this thing gesturing to Lily, and then lowering her voice"is a mudblood! If it were me I wouldn't talk to, unless it was a snarky remark. Anyway I'm looking for my dorm mates, have you seen any of the first year Slytherin girls?" Jade walked away in search of her other friends, waving goodbye to Lucia but as she passed Lily she whispered in her ear, so that only the mudblood would hear, "Missing anything?" then sniggered, leaving the conversation.

Katherine continued dancing and alexander swept them around the ballroom katherine continued dancing perfectly not missing a step nor a beat alexander responded to katherine for her first remark but she stayed quite she didn't respond to him but what she did want to do when he said he didn't want to disappoint a lady she wanted to roll her eyes badly but she kept smiling after she spoke and claimed he was a perfectionist he responded to her"do you find something wrong with that dove? isnt it good to be good at one does", katherine had nothing in her head she said"No not at all be what you want and yes its good",she looked at the bigger picture and decided to see a bit of herself in him which was very rare he wasn't fully same but he had really common things with her she was quite shocked but stayed looking at him and continuing the dance perfectly.
As she continued he responded saying that katherine truly believe shes figured him out and claimed if it might be gossip and said go ahead and drew a smile on his face katherine was shocked gossip really gossip how low did he think she was as katherine thought about it its like fighting a war with herself so similar they were both egotistical and powerful they perfect things she responded with"Mr alexander I don't do gossip, and if I ever did it what do I say i've danced with a perfectionist imagine how ridiculous that sounds and I simply am stating the obvious I don't care about whatever secret you're hiding or if you're hiding one i have no interest in it as i said i'm stating the obvious i don't come in harm i don't come with threats nor anything to hurt you i would never do that why would I do such things when all you have been is a proper decent guy who didn't harm me at the end of the day ill simply go and say i've had a wonderful dance and smile it off see you're not the only one who thinks behind smiles. she paused took a deep breathe and said"Im technically guessing about you stuff that I personally have I just wanted to see how similar we are I also think stuff under smiles and compliments I myself am a perfectionist I have to be all the time so technically you have nothing to fear about me simply whatever happens or is said in this dance stays here between both of us Trust me when I say that", .
she looked him straight in the eyes meaning the words she said and continued "anyways ,its not like you're going to remember me or something your probably going to go back to your friends or talk to a bunch of girls and forget we ever met dont worry ive went through this a bunch of times i wouldn't be surprised if you did ", she hated the thought but she said it because its the truth her eyes warmed she smiled through it but a soft warm smile, her eyes turned soft but she tried to hide it away from him god knows what he would joke about next.
she thought to herself "you idiot stay strong show no fear or weakness god what would father say ,Stay strong katherine", she took a deep breathe and continued holding her facial expressions and staying strong from her deep abyss she said" I actually admire you Mr alexander believe it or not but its nice watching someone who has it all together and does it all by himself and you are much different than the boys around here and your striving and being proud of it without having family to push you to perfecting everything I guess I'm happy for you,do what you please Mr alexander i'm not here to stop you as I said and after all Im a safe place and trust me when I say nothing is coming out I don't do gossip", she looked at him straight in his eyes and drew a wide genuine smile trying to make him believe she doesn't come with harm and she thought to herself "i'm quite impressed he has it all figured out all by himself without a family pushing him to perfect things and become evil and ruthless like them You officially earned my respect alexander" she said in her thoughts happily.
Out of banter she said "Oh don't worry I will tease you, watch me ", she said with a huge smirk on her face and grinned confidently to him teasing never harms anyone she wanted to laugh so bad she even let out a small laugh and looked away from him for a second then her eyes focused back on him and made sure she was confident and that the game was still on she made her blue greyish eyes sharp on him and raised her eyebrow slightly while smirking wanting to see what happens next with him at this point it was interesting game for katherine and she thought to herself" go ahead alexander give me your best shot lets see what you have in store for me",

After he had turned her around gently, Zykeal would glow as she smiled, those aquamarine blue eyes beaming into his own. Friends might be surrounding him and shouting his name, Zyk wouldn't have noticed, he was nearly entranced. It wasn't until she responded to him, it had only been a second or two, that he broke his gaze and offered a cocky little shrug towards her words of his appearance, "I clean up aight' then ya?" he said, nodding his head and holding out his arms to have her inspect his entire costume. Dealla raised her hand up and touched something just below his eyes, he couldn't tell what specifically until she mentioned the mask; it made him cock his head to the side with a smile.
Not expecting the forwardness of her grasp to his wrist by Dee, he looked down as she spoke to him, "Yeh, al-" was all he got out before he felt the tug of his wrist towards the entryway of the ballroom. Instead of just being dragged by the wrist though, he pushed along to head beside her, having wanted to be the one next to her as she entered through the doorway of the ballroom. As well as moving up to walk next to her, he shifted her grip upon his wrist so that he could pull his hand till it slid to interlock with her own. Zykeal knew that the toughness of the boys hand holding hers might have made her tense up, but, it made him retain that smile of his at the very least. Over the summer and even during the beginning of this school year, he had worked vigorously upon his woodcarving hobbies and formed hands that weren't commonly found in the wizarding world.
"Jesus, Mary..." he let out in a soft exclaim once they made it through the entrance of the ballroom doors, holding back the last bit of the common phrase. Those golden hues shifted across the entirety of the room and the young Gryff was quite shocked by all the work that the team putting this event together did. Still, he tried to keep his composure and look the part for his date, stoic, relaxed, sure of himself in every way at that moment. One thing that did make Zykeal slightly uncomfortable was the number of people that had already crowded in; there was a lot to keep track of. Although Zyk had the willpower to do whatever he needed to do to make this night the best it could be, he knew, in the back of his mind, what other events at this school had turned up like.
Dealla stopped and looked back at him then, drowning his worries away with that radiant smile of hers, "Aw, sure look it," he commented in return. After a second of looking back around the room, he figured she might not get the Irish common phrases and quickly looked back, "Amazin' Dee, really," he confirmed.
It was truly hard for him to peel his gaze away from his date at the time, he needed to drink it all in at some point, but, the night was early and until she made good on her promise that she'd have to be bouncing around to take care of things; he was hers. Once again, she led the way and he played his part admirably by staying alongside her. Zykeal figured the girl was looking for her best friend, they seemed inseparable at times, but, it looked like with the crowd that they were about to get some alone time that the boy didn't mind one bit. She twirled, he would have swooned, but, he stood giving a sly little smirk and could have predicted the next words that came out of her mouth.
"Yes," he said, nearly before she completed the sentence.
In the middle of her comment about not being able to dance and other words that he summed up to her being a little nervous on her own, he'd raise his hand and held her own, "Let's shred it," he said, lids pulling together as the smile reached his cheeks, that muggle skater boy side showing in his vocabulary. A slight tilt of his head was given as well, just before, he led her towards the center of the dance floor. Although Zyk was terrible on his feet normally, in simple everyday life, things like the muggle sport of skateboarding and dancing seemed to come more naturally to him. The boy had no idea why, maybe because it required more concentration than simple movements, he hadn't a clue.
Regardless, with his ear perked to the music that was playing at the time and it seemed a lot more of a bouncy beat than what he had originally expected for this type of event. One of the others must have been choosing the music (Flash!!!), at first when he started to head out to the floor with Dealla, the song was fast and moving. The switch to a softer and more vibey style of song that seemed more of a mellow and smooth dancing style came now, he could work with it. Taking the hand he held of Dees', he used his long arms and strength to raise their hands and he twirled her around once to see that flapper dress of hers sparkle as she spun. Those eyes never left her. When she completed the twirl, he pulled her in and started the slower dance with her that, sliding his other hand on the side of her hip and moving with the beat of the music.

The Fall Ball (Masquerade)
What luck. As if the situation wasn't bad enough with her humiliating costume and having fallen out with her best friend, Tina had been blessed enough to bump into what seemed to be the creepiest second year ever. She slowly turned to look at him as he mocked her, her features crumbling into an expression of complete and utter despair. He was only a year older than her, and yet the way he talked was so patronising that Tina felt like a five-year old girl again.
According to him, she was missing something, but she was more focused on the fact that he'd called her 'little moon' whilst grinning like a mad man. "Stop talking to me!" she snapped, whilst he rummaged through his pocket. She pushed her arms down to her sides, fists balled, staring up at him (though not at a severe angle - he was relatively short) with blazing, brown eyes. It was obvious that this 'little moon' was pretty terrible at standing up for herself. "Stop talking like that, too! It's creepy and... and I don't like it! I'm having a... FRICKING bad day and you're making it-"
Bonk.
Tina's words were cut off as a brown paper bag was shoved over her head. She couldn't see this, of course, but it was painted white on the front, with a creepy, clumsily drawn face to top it off. If she looked hideous before, this was a million and one times worse. Automatically, her hands went to the front, patting the paper uselessly as Hanako continued to tease her, relentless in his attack, even having to audacity to insist that he was an angel who'd saved her from a night of embarrassment. And of all things, he was laughing. He was bloody laughing. Martyna could barely even begin to bite back the sob that was coming up her throat. Elizabeth Isaacs was here, and she could only begin to imagine all the awful things that horrible girl would have to say about her outfit.
"Stop using big words as well!" she cried, the paper bag muffling her voice. She was wobbling about, unable to get a grasp of where she was in relation to the other boy under a veil of darkness. She didn't understand a word of what he was saying, but could tell he was making fun of her costume nevertheless, and most certainly didn't think it was 'brilliant'. "I was going matching with a friend but she..."
She.. what? Decided that she was too cool for you and wanted to go as a pretty star rather than a funny one? Purposefully dressed up in beautiful clothes to rub it in your face that she had at least a clue about the wizarding world, and knew how people dressed at events like these? Wanted to show off how rich her mummy and daddy were with an elegant dress like that? To anyone else, some these ideas would seem a huge stretch, and the others absolutely inconceivable and ridiculous, but not to a very upset and resentful Tina. Not to her.
"She forgot," Tina finished. She didn't want Hanako to know she'd been abandoned by a friend like that. She didn't want anyone to know. Her fingers went to where her eyes were, tearing two holes in the mask so that she could see, and more importantly, show Hanako how pissed off she was. She glared at him. "Anyway, it's not like you can talk! What are you? A fish? Well..." She needed to think of a good insult, but it wasn't something she was very good at. "Well, you definitely smell like one. A fish, that is. Smelly! Do you even have a date? Or any friends? No. Didn't think so. Fish-boy-person."
That would show him.

The Fall Ball (Masquerade)

Interacting with: @Paisley Brown
Action: Discovering more than she'd expected tonight and trying her best to hold it together.
Outfit
The skirt to her dress isn't quite as sheer as in the image.
As Sarah let her arms fall back to her side, she felt a lightness settling over her. She couldn’t see anything negative in Paisley’s eyes - she was angry at her for ruining her evening, nor did she seems to want to turn away as if she didn’t want to deal with her or her issues. She followed her to the edge of the ballroom, taking comfort in the slightly less crowded area. She let herself relax, eyes glancing over the other people in the ballroom, wondering whether any of them were having such weighty conversations. I somehow doubt it.
She found Paisley’s eyes again when she started to talk, offering her a chuckle at the word ‘boring’. She doubted life could be boring if you grew up with wizards and muggles. Sarah had often wondered if it was difficult to keep the Wizarding world a secret when you lived besides muggles. Did Paisley have muggle friends who she secretly told of her magic? Did she ever get to visit a muggle school? Did as she have one of those electronic music devices she’d heard people talk about? All valid questions which Sarah couldn’t work out the order to ask.
She eventually settled on asking about her friends from home, that seemed like the right place to start. “Do you ha-“ She cut herself off when she caught the look of fear on Paisley’s face. She looked alarmed, worried, almost scared, as she brought her hand up to her shoulder. Despite the dim-lighting, Sarah had seen the large scar on the Gryffindor’s back. She’d been curious, naturally, but knew better than to ask. After all, Sarah had her own scars, ones she’d rather not be asked about. The fire that had consumed half of her family hadn’t left her unscathed. It was one fo the reasons why back in first year she’d taken to dressing in the bathrooms rather than quickly changing in the dormitories like many of the girls did. She wondered why the girl was suddenly so aware of her scar, fingers tracing it almost absently as her eyes flitted around the room. Perhaps she felt self-conscious of it, or maybe she’d caught someone staring. Sarah cast her own eyes around, prepared to glare back at anyone if they were staring, but she saw no one.
“Hey,” She said softly, reaching out to place a hopefully comforting hand on Paisley’s forearm, trying to bring her attention back. She wanted to tell her not to worry about scars, about what other people thought about them, though she realised that was slightly hypocritical. After all, she’d ensured her dress covered her burns in fear of people seeing. Paisley spoke again before she had a chance to figure out what the appropriate thing to say was, and Sarah let her hand fall back to her side at the serious tone of her voice. Apparently Sarah wasn’t the only one sharing something significant tonight. She nodded, silently telling Paisley to go on. She had no idea what the girl was about to day, a thousand possibilities flicking through her mind like flipping through the pages of a book.
“I am a lycanthrope.” Well, that certainly hadn’t been where Sarah had thought this was going. She felt her eyes widen, feeling something bubble within her. Not fear - she could never feel scared of Paisley - something else. A mix of shock and confusion and pain as she looked into Paisley’s eyes. Her words seemed to flood out, unthinking and slightly jumbled as she tried to assure Sarah she wasn’t dangerous. She was a werewolf, but she wasn’t evil because of it.
Sarah had only ever met one other werewolf, that she knew of at least, and he wasn’t a good man. He’d attacked someone after one of her father’s dinner parties and no one had seen him since. It had scared her, being only eight at the time. Her father had of course tried filling her head with yet more Pure-Blood propaganda, telling her horror stories of wolves attacking small children. She’d not let his opinions poison her own though. Because, despite the fear she’d felt when she’d heard of the attack just outside the borders her manor, she knew stereotyping an entire species because of it was not fair. Paisley wasn’t him.
She couldn’t quite keep up with everything Paisley was saying, catching words like wolfsbane and dangerous and hate. Wait. Her mind replayed the girl’s final question. “Do you hate me?” And she felt her heart shatter alongside Paisley’s words. Had the situation been any different, Sarah might have felt offended at the suggestion, but the dejected look on her friend’s face told her that perhaps the question was deeper than it seemed. She almost looked ashamed - self-hating. And Sarah couldn’t stand it. She felt a wave of emotion overcome her and suddenly her eyes were wet and her arms were flung back around the girl. If she had any concern of her being scared of her now, she hoped this would dispel them.
“How could I hate you for just being you?” She asked, words close to her ear as she held her tightly. “I don’t think either of us understand the concept too ‘proper timing’,” she giggled, pulling back enough to look at her friend’s face, eyes still slightly teary. “Thank you for telling me. You didn't have to, so don't apologise for not doing it soon. But thank you for trusting me. You have no idea how much that means to me,” She admitted seriously before letting a small smile overtake her features. “Besides, we’ve shared our secrets. It looks like you’re stuck with me now.”

The Fall Ball (Masquerade)
@Neculai Lazar
As she heard her name being called, Lizzie swiftly turned around to see her date standing there. "Uhh.. Yes that is me." She replied, "I assume you are Neculai Lazar? The really cool Quidditch Captain?" A small laugh escaped the girls mouth. There was no harm in trying to be in his good books. Especially since they were meant to be hanging out for the rest of the night.
"I really like your outfit." She said clapping her hands together and smiling, "The mask is really nice!" Lizzie nodded her head along with her words. The hat and coat seemed to really compliment each other while the bone looking like mask added that small bit of spice that made it look all the more better. Lifting her hand to move the stray bits of hair out of her face, Lizzie took a deep breath and continued, "Do you want to dance? Or get something to eat?" The simple questions rolled off her tongue quickly before her brain could even comprehend what had happened.
Lizzie honestly couldn't dance but she didn't want to stand around all night doing nothing. It would be better than standing in silence as well. She opened her mouth to say something but slowly closed it. After a few seconds of thinking of what to say she opened her mouth again, "So, what do you think of the decoration? Very in the spirit of Halloween.." She bobbed her head slowly looking around the room admiring all the hard work the planners must have put into it.

“Wow, um…okay” Felicia crossed her arms and looked down after hearing Melissa’s comments. She was a little ashamed to essentially be labeled as a mean girl. “I guess I did come off as harsh. I really just don’t like costumes, especially outlandish ones-” The first-year cut herself off before causing even more harm with her words. She couldn’t believe how much she sounded like her mother just then.
“Why don’t we change the subject. How are you two liking Hogwarts so far? Anything stand out? I’ve actually been enjoying Potions class a lot. It can be challenging sometimes to follow the instructions when they’re so precise, but I’ve had a surprisingly good time in there. I like Herbology a lot too but that’s probably because Professor MacTavish is so charming.” She paused to gather her thoughts. In retrospect, Felicia’s first few days at Hogwarts had been amazing in the sense of discovering the secrets of magic and the wizarding world. However, she couldn’t help but feel a tinge of loneliness. So far, she had been so consumed by her studies and classwork that she had barely noticed anyone else around her. Even at Dueling or Quidditch matches, she opted to merely spectate and avoided conversing with others. Maybe she should try to reach out to that one girl she met in the Library? Felicia didn’t have all the answers, but in this moment, she felt fulfilled by connecting with others at the school, and she didn’t want to lose it. She listened intently at what the other girls thought about Hogwarts, hoping to find some common ground.

Owl me if you want to interact with Ash
Socially, the Andwiltz line was well positioned among pure blooded Norweigan wizarding families. His father, whom had abandoned Ash when his mother died, had always had a reputation as curse breaker, and once, obliviator. His mother, coming from another line of rich and pure wizarding family, had always been at home, something that Ash had throughly disliked as a toddler, for he had to follow his mother's lead, and it wasn't any good to keep a small three year old boy stuck in a stony cold mansion.
It had never mattered to the third year Durmstrang student Ash, if he was from a rich family or not, but it has always bothered him somehow. The big parties his grandparents hosted were no good for the shy boy, and he had always been accustomed to be safely in his room upstairs, where nobody could see him, for he had once or twice bothered some of the guests with his gloom. It was maybe because of his past that he had this problem to socialize, or maybe it was a inherited nature. But he would never fit in as a normal muscular, healthy and strong Russian/Norweigan teen.
Coming to England and visiting this British school had changed Ash a lot. Maybe he was still his chicken self, but he was a bit more confident than usual- which was odd, for he was in a foreign country . One action proved evidence that it was true.
He had met this girl, Vit Sykova, over the summer in the Quiddich Stadium in London. He had quickly learned that they were both different from the other students, which made them more or less equal. He quickly became friends with her and they had both shared a cute tent over at summer camp. And now he had asked Vita to go to the ball with him. Be his dance partner.
He couldn't believe it when Bita accepted his offer. It was as thought his whole face had brightened, and instead of being sulky and shy, he had becomes a ray of sunshine for some time. It was clear that the young Durmstrang kid was pleased. Immensely tho.
Ash was in the Durmstrang ship, getting ready for the October 16th Fall Ball. He looked at his reflection in the tall mirror, and thought that he looked alright. Today's outfit was a very handsome dress robes, navy blue with silver. His mask combined with the colors: white, gold, and blue. It was quite pretty too. It had a sort of musical sheet drawing as a garnement. He didn't even dare brush is hair. It wasn't looking very fit anyways. But he thought it was good like that.
These matters would have never mattered to him. It was useless, he had always thought, to look into your reflection and see if you were pretty or not, handsome or ugly. But today he wanted to be in ship shape, because he was scared of imagining how Vita would react if she saw him in his normal outfit, looking informal.
Entering the ballroom slowly, Ash looked around at the beautiful decor, his mouth dropping slightly. He was t used to celebrate the October vibe back in Norway, and for him this was much better than elegant tables and crystal chandeliers. This was perfect, and very...what was that English word....cool.
Not knowing if his dance partner was there or not, he stayed in the entrance of the ballroom, awaiting her. For the first time in some years, he was actually feeling exited.

A boy Lucia had never seen before then walked up to the trio, and the Hufflepuff turned to acknowledge him. Oh, wonderful; yet another person who introduced themselves in another language! This was one of the many moments when Lucia wished she was multilingual, but the pureblood supposed that even if she was she couldn't know all the languages being spoken in this ballroom. Just like Lily, though, he quickly switched to English (thank Merlin) and handed out a simple compliment. "Thanks," Lucia said, a slight blush on her cheeks (though it was unlikely he would be able to see it), a bit surprised to have been complimented by this random stranger of a (probably foreign) wizard. She did love her dress, though - she and Ebony had found it seventy-five percent off in a Muggle clothes shop (not that they would be telling anyone that, of course) because a seam had come undone. But, with the help of both magic and a surprising skill at sewing, it had been easy for Ebony to fix up the dress and Lucia cherished it dearly.
Oh, so he was French. Or, at least, the name sounded French. Lily switched languages again - what was it with talking in languages no-one could understand? - and Lucia managed to make out hers and Scarlett's names. She wasn't quite sure about being introduced by a random stranger, but held out a hand to André as Scarlett indroduced her in English.
Two questions were currently spinning around her mind, but she wasn't quite sure she had the courage to ask a random stranger 'where do you live?' - it would probably make her sound like some kind of creepy stalker. The other question, which Lucia also wasn't sure about asking Lily, was 'what language is that?!'.
Luckily, Scarlett seemed to have read her mind and asked André where he was from. "Beauxbatons, right?" Lucia asked.
Before anyone could say anything else, however, a familiar redhead walked up to the little group. Unlike Lucia, she was dressed in jeans and combat boots, but the Hufflepuff still recognised her instantly - Jade Sunshine was a family friend, although Lucia hadn't had chance to talk to her since school began. The Slytherin greeted Lucia and asked how she was, leaving the older girl to turn away from her previous conversation for a moment. "Hey, Jade, nice to see you! Congrats on Slytherin by the way, Amber'll be proud," she said with a smile, referring to Jade's mother. "Sapphire round anywhere? Briar says hi," Well, she didn't actually, but she would have done if she was here. Jade then expressed her surprise at seeing Lucia at the event, and the part-Veela replied with a shrug. "Thought it might be fun."
She used the word. Lucia had been trying desperately not to use the term 'mudblood', but Jade obviously didn't care. "Jay," Lucia said with an edge to her voice, "That's rude. Don't go round making enemies for no reason, will you? Some of them are alright. And no, haven't seen any. Sorry. Bye!"
As Jade walked away, Lucia took a moment to watch her and then turned back to the conversation at hand. "Family friend," she said, by way of explanation.

Suddenly, Cassie felt a gaze fall on her, and looked down from the ceiling to see Charles' friend staring at the place where her's and Charlie's hands loosely touched. Cassie immediately glared at his judgemental expression - he didn't know her, what right did he have to judge her for holding hands with a friend? Luckily for him, he quickly looked away and left her and Charles alone.
"Well, that's idiotic," Cassie said firmly, in response to Charles' statement about his family's hair colour. "You're not an 'oddity', you should be able to have your hair whatever colour you like." The muggleborn paused, smirking again. "Just not purple. You'd look terrible with purple hair." The downside to honesty was that Cassie always told the truth. She didn't like lying, but she also didn't believe in the concept of a white lie. As such, you should never ask her what her opinion is on something if you're not up to hearing the answer.
Relax... "Relaxing isn't really my thing." She was more of an action girl, living fast and waiting on tenderhooks for the next adventure. It was rather like a rollercoaster, Cassie thought, only sometimes other people got on and off. One such person was Scarlett Aden, who had been ejected from the Cassie Coaster about a year ago and who had just got back on again; a little shaken but otherwise overjoyed to see her childhood friend again.
Charles moved his hands to Cassie's waist and the girl had to fight the instinct to throw them off. Instead, she took hold of them and moved them to her shoulders, which felt far more comfortable. Then, the muggleborn put her own hands on Charles' shoulders. "It's so... slow," Cassie muttered back, trying to sway in time with Charles and failing miserably. "And boring. Dancing should be fun," she added, wishing that she had forced Charles to go to the room next-door, which seemed much more interesting.
"Hey," she said, effortlessly changing the subject before Charles could answer her complaints. "How long do you think it would take to burn everyone's masks on those candles?"[/b] she snorted, looking around. "Huge fire hazard."

The Fall Ball (Masquerade)
Open to interactions | please owl me firstunless you already know Ileen IC xD
Ileen was glad that the light was dimmed when Erik complimented her. The blood raised to her cheeks and flattered she briefly lowered her gaze. Hopefully he wouldn’t notice her blushing but there was a warm sparkle in her eyes as she looked back up at him.
“Oh, good! I was worried for a moment.” Her dark brown eyes narrowed to half moons as she laughed – something that was rare for the young Slytherin girl. “But now I know it’s just the promised gentleman in you whom you successfully hid over the past year.” There was a teasing twinkle in her eye before she made an exaggerated curtsy, referencing the day they’d first met. “And thank you very much. I know, this suits me better than the books, Mr. Tharaldson. I have to say, you look very handsome yourself.”
And truly he did. Maybe it was also because he looked happy today – relieved, lighter maybe. She had been worried about him, but she was sure he didn’t want her to ask what had bothered him and she accepted his privacy. If there was something he wanted to talk about, he knew she was there.
But for now, he looked happy and that was very important to the young brunette girl. Suddenly it seemed strange to her that she had looked into his astonishing green eyes all the time, so she turned and looked around in the dance hall overwhelmed by the decorations. “It wasn’t just me. This was mainly Flash. And he really did a great job. I’m glad you like it.”
Let’s see how long it will stay like this before someone destroys it. “Hey, you get my official permission to tackle everyone down who is about to do something stupid, okay?" Even though she was still grinning, Ileen was absolutely serious. And she would support him to hunt them down.
When Henry passed them by, Ileen would reflexively return his smile, but she also made a tiny, hardly noticeable step closer to Erik. She still felt uneasy when the other Knight was around and she hadn’t dealt with their conversation since she had left the common room this night.
With a slight frown she followed him with her gaze as he entered the hall and then looked at the couples who had arrived. Some even danced already. “Erik? What do you think? Should we try to dance in this amazing hall before someone burns it down?" Her smile was a bit crooked as she looked up to her tall blonde friend. The young girl probably wasn’t a very skilled dancer, but she liked it a lot and the music really invited to whirl through the room. A bit nervous she bit her lower lip waiting for an answer.

"Some people are in such utter darkness that they will burn you just to see a light."
