It was much too early to be in the hallways. Emma briskly hiked towards the restrooms, a hand cloaking her entire left cheek. This could not have been happening. Fifteen years she spent blemish-free, a somewhat impressive span. The girl's mother informed her daughter about her upcoming of age and the changes brought. Being the headstrong girl she was, she chose not to listen. Undoubtedly there were Muggle skincare products to challenge the disheartening outbreak, but there was also a magical variant to help combat the acne; one she learned how to concoct in her first year at Hogwarts. It seemed like such a long time ago, she'd grown a lot.

Asking for a flask of the potion she would come off as vulnerable and insecure and she couldn't admit that to herself. Brewing and taking it for herself would come off as troublesome, though she was substantially a carbon copy of trouble. She had obtained a bad habit of getting herself into trouble simply for the enjoyment.

Would her mother still acknowledge her calls, letters, owls, more or less do her a favor? Witches and wizards were sent brooms and screaming messages through the mail, it was a fact. She only hoped she could receive a jar of zit cream, but she was the last resort. Emma was done asking her parents for help. Emma, frankly, was done communicating with her parents. Maybe it was just another shift in her life she couldn't handle. The brunette was never the self-absorbed, vanity sort. She couldn't perch in front of a mirror and apply makeup for hours, not even for the Blossom Balls or her own parent's wedding. It seemed unnatural to cover up beauty, and she hadn't dabbled it much. Now, she was regretting her life's decisions. At least, she'd have something to put on the textured bumps that formed immediately within the night. It couldn't be that difficult.

Finding herself in front of the mirror, the brunette lowered her hands, revealing five or six bumps that unevened her skin's texture and one red zit. It hurt to touch, but she needed to get rid of it. Taking her trimmed nails, she poked and squeezed at the acne but it wasn't going to be enough to rid them. A defeated groan escaped her lungs, she dropped her arms from her face and took a few steps back to face herself in the mirror.

Another sleepless night, she tried shutting her eyes close forcing herself to sleep, she tried counting numbers, she tried sitting in her bed until she was tired so that she could sleep. Unfortunately, nothing worked out except she tossed and turned all night irritably. Recently, Vivian was not able to sleep well and sometimes she was not able to sleep at all the whole night which worried her a lot. As a result of not sleeping well, there started to appear dark circles under her eyes. “Urgggh” Vivian groaned as she pulled her blanket over her head.

After few moments “I am done with this!” she muttered as she sat on her bed and begin to scratch her head with her hands in vexation, causing her hair to be more messier than before, she was glad that she didn’t have curly hair or it would take her ages to untangle it. Well, it doesn’t seem like she is going to sleep anymore and it was already dawn. Taking her small bag filled with things she needs to get freshen up, she left her dorm to the girl’s lavatory.

Walking wearily, more like a zombie she looked, even she would get scared if she sees her own self in the mirror now. But who cares, she passed through no one, or at least she didn’t notice anyone with her dog-tired eyes. As she was about to enter the girl’s lavatory, she noticed a girl with dark brown hair facing the mirror, the girl looked older than the blonde, maybe a third or fourth year. Trying to smooth out her hair with her hands making it look a bit... just a little bit better now, not wanting to scare the brunette, she entered.

“H-” she tried to greet her but her voice cracked. Clearing her throat, “Hi” she smiled until she looked at the girl in front of her when she faced the mirror. No longer smiling, she touched her face which looked pale now with her dark circles appearing distinctly. “You look like a ghost” she mouthed at the mirror, thinking that she wasn’t so prettier like before, her eyes filled with tears making her unable to see clearly.

Emma had actually received plenty of shut-eye last night. It was a soundless rest, she surprisingly didn't dream a lot much to her demise. Rather than soaring high above the clouds, preferably without her broom, there was nothing but darkness. But hey, at least there were no nightmares. The brunette couldn't remember a ruined night caused by her mind games: it was a somewhat good thing, but she didn't have any compelling stories to narrate during breakfast.

Looking at herself in the mirror, she forced a smile to combat the condensation from building up anymore, but in response, a few droplets managed to escape her ducts. This couldn't be the thing that broke her, not a few bumps on her skin. Regardless, she took her sleeve and dabbed at her eyes, the whites in her eye changing into a light pink. "You're fine, you're fine," she told herself out loud sniffing softly. Tears weren't the only indication of her stress; everything had gone downhill and now everyone else could see it too. It wouldn't have been much of a problem if she had someone to tell, but she'd lost most of her family and her cousins were overwhelmed and confused much like herself. She couldn't put any more pressure on them. She needed someone to talk to, but her trust was wearing thin. At this point, she couldn't even trust herself, nor her emotions.

Peering over her shoulder as another student entered the restrooms, she took a deep breath but failed to collect herself as it came out shaky. "Hi," she vocalized. Her throat was barricaded with tears, causing her voice to also crack, but she didn't attempt to clear her airways. She couldn't help but glance at the girl who, like herself, made self-critical comments. Even during her low moments, she still found room to focus on everything but herself.

Thinking was a dangerous thing. The dam holding back her tears cracked more with every pessimistic thought that strayed into her brain. She turned on the faucet, the running tap echoing in the closed walls. "Rough night?" Emma asked the girl, looking at her reflection in the mirror. She was only a few seconds from throwing her entire biography on the young, innocent girl. Her trust was shattered, she didn't know who deserved it, but she knew she couldn't hold it in any much longer.
