Private Roleplay between Anastasia Beckett and @Adonis Thorn

Location: Hogwarts Study Room
Date: 16 April 2020
Time:6:00 p.m.
Anastasia Beckett really ought to stop while she was ahead. She had already been attacked by a swan, nearly blown up by popping bluebirds and had to chase down a flock of bats. If there was a sign that she really ought to stop practicing Avifors, she had gotten at least 3. So, as any logical person would, Anastasia had decided that she was going to work on the spell some more. She'd successfully made and subsequently been attacked by a swan, as well as made several flocks of birds. However, she hadn't attempted a flock of swans. She figured they couldn't be that bad since she'd already done parts of them before.

She hoped that a flock would be nicer than the single swan she'd made. Seeing as she had been tired and in a bad mood the other time she'd made a swan, she was sure that they really weren't that mean.

She was very, very wrong.

The Gryffindor was now trapped in a study room with a few other students and some seriously violent swans. It would have been hilarious if she wasn't concerned that the swans were actually going to murder her, each other, and everyone else in the room. What a terrible way to die. She had committed arson, jumped off the owlery, and done countless other dangerous things, and now she was going to be killed by a bunch of evil swans. She really didn't even know how to begin fighting the swans. She couldn't very well set them on fire, since then she would be dealing with flaming angry swans. She also hadn't realized exactly how big swans were. Anastasia herself was barely 5 feet tall, and most of these swans were several inches taller.

This was a terrible idea. She would have to untransfigure them, but she didn't think she'd be able to get them all at once. Were swans always this violent, or was it just the ones that she made? The one that seemed to have decided it was in charge went straight for Ana and Ana shot backward until she hit a wall. The other student in the room seemed to be having similar problems. The one that was attacking her was far too close for her to raise her wand and cast anything, so that meant she would have to resort to something else. Anastasia wasn't exactly the most physically strong person, but she wasn't weak either. She was also incredibly impulsive. That was what lead her to punch the swan that day.

Adonis had been keeping to himself for most of his time while in the study hall. He was reading ahead in his Defense Against the Dark Arts textbook like always, of course. He was going over and studying the Tongue-Tying Spell, not even bothering to try it on himself just yet. He did not want to take the chance of his getting his tongue tied in a knot and have to deal with the inability to speak. It could've been a cute look on him. Maybe. But he preferred not to gamble his chances with that. It was simple spells that he was going over as well, mainly spells that he could use in duelling since that was his main suit. So, he did the Bubble-Producing Spell a few times as well as the Blindfolding Spell on himself. Luckily, he didn't freak out now when doing it to himself like he had the first he did it, which resulted in him falling into the Great Lake. Unfortunate and embarrassing that was for him.

He hadn't really paid much attention to the others around him who were also doing their own thing and studying or talking of the sorts. Adonis was fully focused on his studies and only that, not offering a glance of acknowledgement in anyone's direction, surprisingly. He was quite the social one at times, just not today it seemed. At least for now he wasn't.

His almost perfect study session that was peaceful and quiet was suddenly interrupted by a swan that jumped on the table in front of him. "What the hell-" The swan snapped at Adonis, making him fall off of his seat and scramble up to his feet, pulling out his wand almost instantly and aiming it at the swan in a threatening manner.

The Slytherin began to slowly back up with his wand in hand as the swan followed him like predator and prey with enough space in between the two to cast. Finally, he was backed up against a wall a few feet away from a girl who was going through the same problem. "Why the hell are there swans attacking us?!" He questioned her, before turning to face the swan again and pointed his wand at the swan, Bullarum Immortalem!" Adonis shouted, producing a stream of solid bubbles from the tip of his wand to get in the way of the swan and make it hard for them to move.

Despite common belief, Ana had never actually punched anyone or anything before, so punching the swan in the face came as rather a shock to her. Its bill was rather hard, and her punching hand hurt after she made contact. She winced and shook out her hand as the violent bird backed off, seemingly just as startled as she was. The swan was clearly more angered and startled by her attack than anything else, but it had back off enough for her to raise her wand, which was promising.

A boy that she didn't recognize was a few feet away from her, also cornered by a swan. Lovely, so her swans didn't just hate her, they hated the human race. What had she done wrong? She had been focused when she had cast the spell, she'd been relatively well rested, and she hadn't been in a foul mood like she had the first time she'd made a swan. So what on Earth had happened? Were swans just mean? That would be a pity, seeing as Ana considered them to be one of her favorite animals.

The boy asked why the swans were attacking before shooting a stream of bubbles into his swans face. Why would he do that? What would that accomplish? "That is an excellent question, I would also like to know the answer to that," she told him before flicking her wand and casting a flipendo at the swan she punched. The bird went flying backward into two other birds and Ana let out a laugh. This was a complete mess and she didn't even know what she'd done to cause it. That was just her life now, apparently.

"By the way, I'm Ana," she told him as she dodged another swan that decided to fly at her face. She figured if they were going to be murdered by swans side by side, they at least ought to know one another's names. This was possibly the lamest way to die - murdered by insane swans that you made. Honestly, where was the respect? She created them, she brought them into existence. Really, they should be worshipping her like a god! Instead they were trying to kill her. How on Earth did that make any sense?

This was probably one of Adonis' lowest points in his life to date. He was fighting, not even fighting that much really. More so fending for his life against a swarm of swans. It was embarrassing. How'd they even end up in this sort of predicament? And where the hell did these swans even come from? Adonis regretted ever coming to the study room for today. It was a mistake. Then again, when wasn't Hogwarts a mess and filled with weird things happening like this all the time.

As to why he cast the Bubble-Producing Charm? Well, because it would get in the way of the swan in front of him and make it hard for it to move with sold bubbles in the way, of course! But seriously though who was supposed to be responsible for causing this chaos? "Hmph. Best get searching for answers then. This is utterly stupid and sad how we're fighting for our lives against a pack of swans." Adonis remarked with obvious distaste and slight annoyance in his voice for finding himself in a situation such as this one. He wanted to just grab a beaters bat and begin to beat the feathers out of each one of them until they stopped squawking indefinitely. It was a ruthless and dark thought, yes. They were made out of magic anyways, so it wasn't like they were actually real in a sense. The month of April sure did have a way of being an interesting and action packed one for him, especially with what the future was to hold for him that he didn't know of yet.

"I'm Adonis. Adonis Thorn. Always nice to acquaint myself with someone I've never met before." Adonis flashed her with his usual charming smile before returning his attention to the swans in front of them. "AGH- f#@% it! INCENDIO!" Donnie bellowed with the flick of his wand, shooting forth a torrent of flames from the tip of his wand that would scorch the pack of swans in front of them and light them aflame. Was it a stupid move? Yes. Was he aware that it was right after? Yes. Did he regret it? No. Adonis was impulsive at times and the spell he had just casted was a dumb one but he didn't regret it one bit. He had a knack for making good bad first impressions with the use of fire. Pyromaniac perhaps? Probably not.

Ana hated everything and everyone. She was quitting. Quitting school. Quitting life. Quitting everyone. She was sick of being attacked by stupid demented birds. It was insulting and stupid at this point, really. Ana rolled her eyes at the boy's words. Yes, thank you so very much for pointing out the obvious. Honestly, it wasn't that bad, seeing as it was commonplace for more advanced wizards to transfigure things into animals and sic them on duelling opponents. Magically made animals were generally more violent and evil than normal animals. In Ana's experience, anyway.

She never wanted to see another bird ever again. If she did, she would personally wring its neck and fry it for dinner. Well, maybe not since she didn't even really like most fowl other than duck and occasionally chicken. She'd wring their necks though.

Ana's face split into a grin when the boy cast incendio. Typically, she was the impulsive pyromaniac, and the sight of this boy casting it before she did half made her want to kiss him. Except, he was a stupid little first year and they were also being attacked by demented pyscho swans. He was also annoying and captain obvious, so no kissing. Gross.

She was about to follow suite in casting incendio when a memory of previous similar incident occurred to her. Granted, the flaming, flying cookie jar had been more intense than these swans. That was proven by the fact the front swan was clearly in pain from the burns, and not continuing to attack the way that stupid cookie jar had. Still, the solution to that was the same solution to this. Why on Earth were they punching and flipendoing and grilling swans when Ana could just fix the problem the same way she had started it?

It was times like these when Ana slightly doubted her blinding brilliance. Sure, she had all O's, but not thinking to untransfigure these sooner was somewhat questionable. Still, she chalked it up to being distracted the swans and Captain Obvious over here.

"Reparifarge!" she said, flicking her wand at the front flaming swan. The spell worked just fine, which was a blessing. If it had backfired, Ana would have further quit everything. She wasn't sure how but she would.
