September 1st, 2020
Around 11 o'clock AM
Rose sighed. "No, for the last time, Gabe, you can't sit with me on the train. Who knows- you might find your best friend in the world!"
"Really?" Gabe did not look convinced. "Did you find your best friend on the train?"
"You and I are different, Gabe. Really, we are," Rose dodged the question.
As Gabe huffed, she guessed she was not making him feel better.
Rose ran through the barrier with all her supplies. She went first, mostly to escape Jessica's whines about being left behind.
And everything felt right. Everything felt perfect. Because she was on her way back to Hogwarts. It was so strange, but ever since she set foot inside that castle, it felt more like home than anywhere ever had. And all summer, she felt like she was missing something. She felt an urgency to go back.
It was like she was homesick or something.
Anyway, Rose inhaled the air by the steam engine. It almost smelled magic. Lugging her things into a compartment, marking it as hers, she went back outside to say goodbye to her mom and to Jessica.
Rose put both of her hands on Jesse's shoulders. "Jesse, I'll write to you," she reassured her. "It won't be as long as you think."
"Yeah, it'll be longer," Jesse said, crossing her arms.
"Come here," Rose replied, pulling her sister to her chest. "Goodbye."
Moving onto her mom, she gave her a hug. They shared a meaningful look, and words didn't need to be said. "Take care of your siblings."
"I will. Take care of Jess."
"Have an amazing, amazing year!" Her mom called as Rose and her siblings got on the train, poking their heads out and waving out the windows.
Rose waved to her mom, keeping her eyes on her mom and her sister until they came around the bend blocking her view.
Rose did not miss how her mom didn't say, "I will," when Rose told her to take care of Jess. It sparked anxiety in her. She got out a quill and paper, and started writing. That was pretty good, she guessed."Dear Jesse,
I am writing this to you on the train, and am planning to send it to you once I get to Hogwarts.
Remember that I am always here for you, and you can tell me anything. Your time at Hogwarts will come quicker than you think, but in the meantime, hold on and do your best at muggle school. I love you.
Rose
Rose put it in an envelope, so in the morning on the next day, she could send it to her before she got to class.
Sucking in and letting out a deep breath, Rose wondered whether she would be riding alone this year as well or if someone would be joining her...
I got a bit carried away with her siblings...

"Thank you so much Fiona," breathed Scarlett as she took in everything. "How can I repay you?"
It was a new year and today, Scarlett wasn't arriving alone. Last year, it had slipped her mind to ask her aunt to take her to the platform. This year, Fiona (a.k.a her aunt) had personally reminded Scarlett and chastised her for 'experimenting' with the Floo Powder to get there when she was about to start her first-year.
Her immediate family were in no fit condition to be dropping their daughter off at the platform - her mother, Evelyn Aden (nee Fulton), had retreated to her bedroom after Scarlett's father had abandoned them. She had never come out since then. Of course, Scarlett wondered how Evelyn would get food and water and other essentials. She even wondered if her mother had died. But she had never found the courage to break into the locked room. Which was stupid. She was a Gryffindor for Merlin's sake!
As for her father, he had left in the dead of night. She hated him for that.
Fiona was the only parental figure in her life, and was a stunning beauty that just so happened to be an Auror. The Aden's were practically famous for producing some of the best Dark wizard catchers in history. With her charm, cunning and dedication, Fiona had landed in Slytherin at Hogwarts, which Scarlett didn't mind one bit. Fiona was caring and kind and funny. She loved Scarlett. That was all Scarlett needed.
Her dark hair had gold highlights at the top and front, which framed her face in tendrils as she said, "You don't have to Scarlett - the only repayment I need is seeing you grow into a lovely young lady - capable and intelligent."
"I'm only twelve." Scarlett said, flushing pink in the face.
"Ah, but nearly thirteen yes?" asked Fiona, side-smiling in that endearing way of hers. She checked the time. "Oh, it's almost heading off! You better go Scarlett. Lateness-"
"-is never an excuse," Scarlett finished teasingly. "But don't you just sweet-talk your way out of punishments?"
"I'm so proud of you," sniffed Fiona theatrically. "Using my own habits and words against me!"
As Scarlett hugged her, careful not to damage her red, velvet coat, Fiona whispered in her ear, "I really am proud of you though."
It brought a smile to her face as she eagerly ran into the barrier that was Platform 9 and 3/4, the Hogwarts Express blowing steam in the air spontaneously with students milling about, chatting, crying and bidding goodbye to parents. She hopped on board, lugging her trunk with her and tried to look for a familiar face.
Scanning all the compartments, Scarlett found one with a beautiful redhead girl in it. It was Rose Moon! A positive acquaintance of her she had met over the summer, at the Quidditch match.
She poked her head in through the door.
"Hi Rose!" said Scarlett. "Mind if I sit with you?"

Maybe just a PV? If you want the little threesome to bond a bit more, then probably PV, but if excitement and variety are more your style, you can open itI really don't mind! But if we open it, should it be just second-years or any years? And is Rose alone in the compartment? Thank you in advance!

Rose was all alone in the compartment before a beautiful ginger opened up the door. A smile spread across her face as she answered Scarlett, "No, not at all."
She got up to help Scarlett lug her trunk in and then sat across from her. "How have you been? How was your summer?"
Rose tucked the note to Jessica in her pocket. "I can't believe we're second years already... It seems like last week we came here on the train for the first time, went across the lake, and got sorted," Rose shared. "For me, at least." To Rose, it really did. She had heard about the carriages that pulled themselves, from her siblings, and she was excited to see them.
The train was still, as if waiting for someone to get on.
Rose barely knew Scarlett, they had met at a Quidditch match over the summer, but she wanted to get to know her, she seemed like an interesting person. "So tell me about yourself. About your family, about your interests, stuff like that."
Rose was mentally preparing her own response if Scarlett asked her about herself.
Rose wondered if someone else was going to join them in their compartment or if it would just be them.
@Aurelia Roberts, are you joining us?
Decided to make it PV, thanks
Ya, she was until Scarlett came in![]()

Journey Home
@Rose Moon @Scarlett Aden━━━━ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ━━━━Aurelia rushed into Kings Cross, the bustling of people ringing in her ears. She looked back at her brothers, who were taking ages to get their trunks onto a trolley. "Beeennnn, hurry up! Merlins beard, what are you doing with all those books?!", for some reason her older brother thought it was necessary to bring what seemed like 30 books to school, and of course they fell out of his trunk right when they were in King's cross. She chuckled and smiled, he was such a nerd but she loved him so much. She was sad that this would already be his 6th year, he would leave school so soon already...
Jack on the other hand... he could really get on her nerves and yet- she couldn't help smiling when he was around. The Slytherin really thought he was all high and mighty with his pranks, but Auri knew, she was miles better at pranks than him. Being the youngest, she would eventually be in school with both her brothers gone... a thought that she hated and loved at the same time.
After Ben had finally sorted out his books they rushed towards the barrier between platform 9 and 10. A deep breath- and she ran. Just before she was about to *hit* she closed her eyes. She grew up with magic and yet her skin tingled when she passed through. A rush of wind blew through her now longer hair. Slowly she opened her eyes, the steam filling her nostrils, the scent was so comforting, it felt like- home. Ever since she entered Hogwarts she had found what she had been looking for, yet she still didn't know what exactly that was.
It was time for goodbyes. She rushed into her parents' arms, their touch was comforting as she stood there embracing them. "Mummy, Papi? I love you. I'll miss you...", her last words muffled as she burrowed her head into their chest. "I'll miss you too honey, write us okay?", her mother replied. "We love you", her dad added. "Move, Auri", Jack said as he showed Aurelia away to hug them himself. "Jeez, Jack chill", Aurelia mumbled with a smirk, her face was slightly red. Then, without turning around she ran towards the train and hopped on.
She walked around the compartments, looking for a special someone. Or rather, two special somebodies. Aurelia smiled as she found the two red-heads. With a glowing grin, she slid open the compartment door and shouted: "Guess who's back! Yes, yes no applause needed", Auri flung her trunk onto the rack above their heads. She had been getting stronger over the summer and her muscles were showing. She had gotten tanner too, with very apparent freckles now sprouting on her face. If you looked at her hair, you would see that her blue tips had faded out and that her hair was had straightened out a tiny bit. "Ready for a new adventure?"Sorry it took so long, I was busy this week.

"Guess who's back! Yes, yes no applause needed."
It was Auri! Rose did not applaud her, but she laughed at her silly little comment. Standing up to hug her, Rose said, "Wow, Auri, you're taller than last year!" She really was, and she looked a good bit tanner, too. Rose had noticeably more frick frack freckles than in June and was also four or five shades tanner. "You're lucky- I wish I could get a good tan," Rose shared, sitting back down. "But mostly I just get a bunch of freckles." Rose had always wanted less freckles and more tan during the summer.
"Am I ever," Rose answered at Auri's question if they were ready for a new adventure.
Rose had missed Hogwarts over the summer -a LOT. And she had missed her friends. She had seen some of them at Summer Camp, but it had been a whole month since then. She had gone to some friends' houses and stuff like that, but not like during the school year, where she saw them pretty much every day.
Every year at Hogwarts really was an adventure.
Rose was excited for everything that was in store for her this year.
And she got to do it with her first boyfriend. Rose wondered where he was now, which compartment. Who he was sitting with. Why. How excited he was for this year, this amazing year. Little did she know.
After Auri made the difficult descision of who she was going to sit next to and who she was going to sit across from, Rose asked them both, "How was your summer?"
No problem Auri!

[font=Book Antiqua]"I know right?" said Scarlett, as Rose remarked about how they were going to be second-years. Scarlett herself had been waiting for the day. She took some form of joy in being 'experienced' and couldn't wait to watch the first-years getting sorted like she had done just a year before. She was only twelve but felt way older. Perhaps it was just her pride in now being in her second year at Hogwarts. "Summer's...been complicated. Well, after camp, of course."
Her mind flashed to arriving home, meeting this Georgia girl her friends had fawned about in their owls. Georgia was about as insufferable as you could get to Scarlett, and she really felt hurt that they had basically ignored her return completely. She was so glad she was only staying at home for a short period of time, before departing for the Hogwarts Express.
Scarlett managed to heave her trunk on one of the racks and sat down on a seat. She pondered the answer to Rose's next question, though it didn't need a lot of thinking because it was about her. "Well, I live in Godric's Hollow with my...aunt. And I like to prank people a lot and play Quidditch!"
Scarlett wasn't in her house team yet, but hoped she would make it eventually. She also didn't feel super comfortable sharing all the details of her family yet. Maybe later. Maybe when they trusted each other more.
She was about to ask Rose the same thing, but at that moment, a girl slid open the door to their compartment - a brunette girl with blue tips at the end of her hair.
Scarlett grinned in excitement at seeing Aurelia Roberts - she remembered their first meeting when she had, well, fell into the Great Lake. It had been cold.
Aurelia was more tanned and athletic-looking than she remembered, and her used-to-be-wavy brown hair was straighter. She even had a few freckles, like Rose.
"Aw," said Scarlett, teasing her at her little funny entrance announcement. "I so wanted to applaud you Auri. You're just so amazing at entering train compartments!"
Auri quickly flung her trunk onto the rack and sat down with them. Rose made a few remarks about her appearance - taller, tanner, more freckly - and asked the two how their summers were going. Scarlett had already answered this one and waited until Auri finished until asking Rose:
"How was your summer?"
Then she hurriedly turned to Auri and said, "And how on earth did you grow so much after camp? Like, you're so much taller and way more tanned and wow."
Scarlett herself could never be tanned. Her skin just didn't accept the sun (meaning lots of sunburns) and anyway, the tanned look would not go well on her.

Aurelia beamed at the sight of them. Gosh- a few weeks felt like so long. She was cringing just thinking about how she was last year. She had definitely matured.
Auri plopped down next to Rose as the train started moving. She glanced out the window to see her parents waving at her. With a grin, she waved back until they were out of Kings Cross. Then, she leaned back and faced her friends. They sure had a lot to catch up with.
Aurelia smiled when Rose complained about her freckles. "I think they are cute", she remarked shrugging her shoulders. She had a couple as well, but only on her face.
She looked down at her hair, the once blue tips were gone, she had cut them off after they turned green from the sun.
Auri was relieved that she had found her friends. After all, there is a lot of compartments.
"My summer was quite ordinary. I went to my grandparents who live at the beach", she responded to Scarlett. Even though her summer had been okay, she was happy to finally go back to Hogwarts. Her "pure-blood" grandparents were starting to drive her crazy. Personally, Aurelia didn't care what status blood someone was, some of the nicest people she had met were muggle-born.
"What are your families like?", Auri asked them, "Do you live with magic?". She already knew somewhat how Rose lived, but to be honest, Auri didn't know much at all about Scarlett.
Maybe they will get to know each other better on the train?

Complicated. Rose knew that even though her summer was pretty amazing, there were some people whose summer was... not so much. Scarlett heavily implied that her summer was not as good as some. Rose smiled at her short explaination of herself. "I've always wanted to live in Godric's Hollow," she confessed. "I mean, it's chock-full of history and... I don't know, it sounds silly to say it out loud, I've always felt like if I grew up in Godric's Hollow I would be just as great as the people there." Rose laughed at herself. "Like it would give me extra luck or something." You can't say no to extra luck. And why did she live with her aunt? There had to be a reason, what happened to her parents? Rose's curiosity was dying to know, but that was a very intrusive question to ask someone when you barely knew them.
Pranking people though... Rose just hoped she wouldn't be on the receiving end of any bad pranks. Most pranks were harmless, and Rose would be able to laugh it off with everyone else, but some pranks... Some people went too far with their pranks. Way too far. And, in the process, people got hurt, and the person got in trouble. Scarlett may be a fearless girl, but Rose may be the one to pull her back down to Earth sometimes.
Rose's face turned just the slightest bit pink, accompanied by muttering, "Thank you," when Auri said her freckles were cute- that was really nice of her to say. Roses mother had always commented on how cute her freckles were, but Rose just thought that she was saying that to make her feel like she wasn't so different from the rest of her family.
"Oh, that's why you have such an amazing tan," Rose commented. "The beach is really fun... well, unless you get sun burnt, that is." Rose had gotten sun burnt at the beach one time. It was when she was maybe five or six, and she only remembered being miserable and hot the rest of the trip. Yeah, sunburns were not fun.
Scarlett asked her about her summer, which did make her happy, that someone cared enough to ask. After Scarlett and Auri had been at the summer camp, so... what had she done after camp? "My summer was good. I mostly stayed home with my siblings once camp ended but I did visit one of my friends in Hufflepuff and before that I..." visited Eyre at his manor. Rose blushed thinking about it. How was she to tell them that Eyre was her boyfriend without sounding like she was bragging? Her voice did lower a little bit, and she dodged their gazes. "Went to someone else's house." It was so very obvious this "someone else" was a little bit more than just "someone else."
Rose pulled her feet up on the seat so she could sit with her legs crossed, and leaned her elbows on her mid-thigh before answering the question.
Rose was about to say "mom," but she stopped herself. "I have four siblings... My... mum, she was from a pureblood family and since I grew up with her I do live with magic," Rose answered"living with magic" wasn't entirely true, since her mom had to work so much, and her older siblings were underage, so not much magic went on at their house. When their mom was home, there was, but she was only home for dinner with them and sometimes on weekends she had a day or two off. Rose knew her mom was coming out of having to work so hard since the number of people she had to feed over the majority of the year was going down as they were going to Hogwarts, but she did work a lot. "What about you guys?" Rose turned her head thoughtfully to Scarlett and said, "I would think you live with magic since you live in Godric's Hollow but..." Rose knew there were muggles in Godric's Hollow. But Rose would guess that she did have magic. On the subject of their home life, Rose said, "Do you have any siblings you live with?"

"The - the beach? Oh wow," Scarlett laughed. "I've only been to the beach a few times...did you enjoy it?"
She thought for a few moments.
"Well I definitely did," admitted Scarlett. Her mind cast back to the day a few magical parents decided to take their wizarding children to the beach, so they could enjoy a normal Muggle experience. Fiona had dragged seven-year-old Scarlett along and the girl had spent the day traumatising everyone by splashing them and soaking their fish and chips. It had seemed fun at the time, yet she had gotten a strict scolding afterwards. "And I -"
The redhead paused for just a second, before carrying on. It couldn't hurt to divulge a bit of information.
"Well, I live with my aunt like I had said to Rose. And yes, my family is..."
The girl broke off yet again to do a quick jazz hands move, simultaneously saying, "all magical."
"I also live in Godric's Hollow," said Scarlett as an afterthought. It was rather just in time, because after that, Rose had said she wanted to live in Godric's Hollow, because the people there were great and she wanted to be like that. "Oh - I - well thanks!"
She laughed again, cheerfully. This train ride had turned out a lot better than she had expected.
The girl felt relaxed for a moment and her body didn't seem as tense as usual, before Rose said 'someone else' whilst describing her summer. Scarlett jolted up, eyes wide. It seemed rather, well, obvious that someone else wasn't just anyone.
"Care to spill?" asked Scarlett cooly, raising her eyebrows. She really didn't understand how other people could only raise one. When she had tried, looking at herself in the mirror, it appeared a demented rat was staring back at her. "I mean, if you want to, of course. I won't mind. Sorry, sorry..."
"Four siblings sounds like a lot," said Scarlett, quite surprised to be honest. "I...have this small group of friends - or rather - ex-friends that I used to hang out with all the time. You could say we were like siblings."
Scarlett shrugged nonchalantly, an incredibly smooth exterior masking what she really felt when she discovered what that little cretin Georgia had done at home.
"But not anymore."
She stopped, thinking she was darkening the mood. Loudly trying to become more jovial, Scarlett continued on faster.
"But anyway, ANYWAY, that doesn't matter. We're here for a new year and everyone is excited and happy! And -"
A large whistle interrupted her. She felt the train move. Jerk forward.
They were off.

@Scarlett Aden @Rose Moon
Her mind was somewhere else. Among the saltwater, and the sand accompanied by a fresh breeze. The beach had been nice but- she was longing for something else. Gosh, she really had missed her friends a lot, she had missed Hogwarts. Running through the hallways, laughing at Scarlett soaked from the lake. Flying a broom for the first time with Rose.
The conversation became quiet as she drifted off to Hogwarts. It was almost as if she could smell the welcoming feast, and hear the laughter of her friends. She was brought back by Rose talking about someone and by the tone of her voice that someone wasn't just someone.
At that point, her facade almost broke. Her smile was cracking and she felt like crying. Why? why... she didn't know either. Was it the trauma? NO- no. Don't think about that. It was surely just her missing Hogwarts. She was happy for Rose, but how often had she talked about someone the same way only to broken?
Aurelia was looking out the window. Scanning the crowd of excited and nervous parents for hers. She didn't find them. Her smile dropped. Maybe they had left already?
She really should be focusing on the conversation, especially if she is the one asking the questions. But somehow in her subconscious, she had listened to Scarlett. She had heard her talking about her family being all-magical. And her saying a very familiar word. Two words to be exact: Godric's Hollow.
Her eyes widened and that's when she cracked. A tear rolled down her cheek but she didn't utter a word. Hastily she wiped it away and said: "Godrics Hollow eh? Same here..." Her face was relaxed and a smile was painted across her face. Only in her eyes, you could perceive the pain and the sorrow that was brewing in her. The only difference that others would sense is that her aura had stopped to radiate, and was weakening.
She hugged her knees and listened to Scarlett talk about her friends. Or rather ex-friends. She was quiet. Funny how the same town held such similar stories. The only thing she muttered was: "I have two older brothers..."
Then, Scarlett seemed to cheer herself up and Aurelia tried to do the same. Her lips curled into a smile. That was when she saw them again. Her parents. Waving at her with their brilliant smiles. Who had always found a way to cheer her up. She waved back.
That's when the train whisked off. Anticipatingly she thought of Hogwarts. The past is the past. After all, all we really have is now.
