Physical Description
Mary Elliott at 11 years old appears with a straight, medium length chestnut brown hair, and a pair of hazel colored eyes she inherited from her mother. She maintains a straight, proper posture drilled into her by family and private tutor.

Mental Description
Mary spent a lot of time with her father in his potions room where she’s gotten used to waiting for a long period of time as he worked on a potion. She sometimes helped prepare and identify quality ingredients, as well as clean cauldrons and vials properly. Outside the potions room, Mary has become her father’s little helper in the greenhouses, where she has learned about the intricacies of magical plants. Mary, at the same time, developed a certain quirk for naming plants, and even attachment after a certain period of time. She once cried after she learned that her father used the adult mandrake she tended as a seedling for months.

Since the family travels a lot for international social functions, Mary is on the cosmopolitan way of life, and has picked up ‘give-away’ clues about a person’s home country. She particularly developed a fear of no-maj (she seldom uses ‘muggle’) people from her American cousins after hearing unpleasant stories.

Mary is also a meticulous writer and is very specific about quill, ink and parchment types because she regularly writes letters to her international friends. It’s also why Mary possesses a quill, ink, and parchment collection. She also exchanges meaningful gifts with them, so picking or making gifts for friends has become another peaceful activity for her. Mary also realized from these events that she feels uneasy around people with volatile emotions, and also confused on how to act or even comfort people in low moods.

Biography

Wizard-born

Mary Bernice Elliott, born on the 9th of May, is the youngest daughter of Malcolm Elliott and Lauren Elliott née Ashdown. She has a strong bond with her three older siblings, and they were raised in a relatively remote area in Wiltshire, England. Like her siblings, she spent her early years under the tutelage of a tutor and care from the family house elves. Although Malcolm and Lauren are occupied most days, they maintain an effort to allocate time for their children in the evenings and available days (Malcolm manages assets and inventories and Lauren fulfills responsibilities to the I.C.W). And so, Mary and her siblings are lucky to grow up in a functional family unit rich in warmth and support.

The family particularly bonds through playing magical gobstones and support for Puddlemere United. She developed her closest friendships abroad, and spends a lot of time writing letters to them (Hannah Barlowe and Ernie Finley). Mary looks forward to their reunions for the exchange gifts. Also, since there’s barely anyone at home, she goes out to play with some neighbors (young witches and wizards). On her own, Mary withdraws to the greenhouses of Elliot Residence to tend to the various plants, especially her prized mimbulus mimbletonia gifted by her parents for her 8th birthday, which she named “mimble" for short

Each year, the family also attends an ‘Elliott gathering’ in USA, Brazil, Russia, Germany and Norway, or even host one themselves, with other Elliott branches (distant family members) in those countries. As such, she has met and maintained friendly contact with her cousins. There, the adults discuss family matters pertaining to the longstanding international family establishment ‘The Glass Fern’ that legally supply and procure exotic and rare creature materials, botanical materials, alchemical and potion materials, and luxury magical goods.

First Instance of Magic
Mary vividly remembers the day when she received mimble. She was so happy that small flowers grew and bloomed from the ground. Everyone in her family was delighted at the sight of accidental magic, but unbeknownst to them, Mary sneezed out puffapod seeds during a nightmare where she was chased by trolls at 5 years of age.
