plans
first year: traumatised; voices in her head in place of aunt, aunt takes family's side, lauren hates aunt
second year: bri disappears, lauren gets in a state of depression, believes that she does not deserve anything, her friends abandon her, she hates herself, and pushes everyone away. she receives dreams and meets inpc, who tries to get her to see sense but she pushes her away too
third year: aunt dies, admits in her last breaths many terrible things: that she convinced briar's dad to move just to hurt her, that she had lied to the vanes family spreading false claims that she had murdered innocent cats and birds that happened to get into her way because of her own petty spite; she recognised a bit of herself in lauren and didnt like how she was always the favourite, this caused the vanes family to hate her, not her fiom, that she was only nice to her because she didnt want to look suspicious because she knew that lauren was a smart toddler. lauren asks her if she was the cause of the voices in her head, she reveals that it had only been because she had subconscious doubts. she realises that the "hogwarts guide" theory was only an excuse she made to explain away the true horror of her doubts, that it had stemmed from her very being (so it will continue all the way to year seven but she will eventually learn how to supress them.) everyone in her family accuses her being murdering her even tho she did not (she died from terminal, incurable cancer.) in her last breath, loratrix admits that she only told lauren all this because she didnt want to die with a heavy heart, which may not secure her place amongst the stars (heaven) and didnt wanna go to hell. she is told by inpc to stop hating on her family but she pushes her away once more and tells her that she wants her to have nothing to do with her life. in the school year, she continues to push everyone away and uses her pet snake to intimidate everyone.
fourth year: her brother tells her that he knows she did not murder loratrix, and said that the vanes family turned against him too because he tried to make them see reason. moved by this, lauren turns to him, but turns into a darker person because now she wants revenge more than ever. focuses on academics in school in hope to learn better ways for revenge
fifth year: astote vanes dies, sabrina vanes reveals that when lauren was seven they had a big argument and she found a new boyfriend after it (unbeknownst to the family), brings him and her seven-year old child [andrea chandelling?] (who she had secretly given birth to) to the family but was rejected by her remaining children, labelling her a traitor, which persuaded her not to change her last name, but they still lived in the house with them. lauren objects to this the most, surprising her siblings into a temporary state of awe and respect for her which diminishes the second she gets on the hogwarts express.
sixth year: plotting, but will bring her towards darkness.
seventh year: more darkness, turns back on light completely
adult: felix dies of a quick sickness, lauren, fueled by grief, learns the cruciatus curse and does it to family. uses pet snake to kill arianna, azkaban
