Physical Description:
Selene is a 4'8 somewhat fit girl, she has tanned brown skin, onyx eyes that stand out from her long curly dark brown hair. She wears a pair of small golden hoop earrings that make her slightly pointed ears more unique. Selene got from her father, and her mothers small button nose. She can look like a mad or unapproachable girl from her resting face, but can switch to a bright infectious smile when approached. She has long natural lashes, full heart shaped lips with a beauty mark just above the right side of her top lip.
Mental Description:
Selene can be one who can be hard to connect with. Always in a book or out in nature, not on purpose of course. She loves drowning herself in fantasy books or writing her own, along with drawing from here to there. She may be quiet but around the right people, she becomes the life of the party. She can be rumored to be a weird one but she has the maturity that most others don't have, which can make her an odd one out in a class or crowd. She is a girl that will stand up to anyone for her friends, firstly observing, then intervening. She can be seen as a prideful girl but has insecurities that she hides behind a mask, even from her closest friends. She is well known as a quiet one, but by others a rebel.
Biography:
Selene came from a family of three, just her mother, Mrs.Renee, and her father, Mr.Kailone. She grew up with her parents fairly normally, though without having siblings, she grew up pretty mostly focused more on her studies and hobbies. Though never knowing any other family or anything of her parents past, she wondered what the story was behind her family.
On her eighth birthday, her mother gave her an old golden necklace with a spider pendant. Selene found it pretty but never wore it just in case she were to lose it. Unfortunately a dinner party was on a night with her parents coworkers. Selene wanted to look presentable, perfect in a way to her parents coworkers eyes. She had gone upstairs to her room to retrieve it before they arrived but she couldn't find it anywhere. Becoming discouraged, she felt a cold breeze from her window, confused as she never recalled leaving the window open, she walked over and shut it.
Before she could close the blinds she caught a flash of golden light from a corner in the back of the garden, squinting in the barely lit moonlight, she saw what looked like a wolf mixed with a bird. Its eyes pierced through her, warning, almost like it was stealing something from within her more than just the necklace. Before the creature disappeared, she ran down the stairs and tried to tell parents while halfway through the back door. But it was gone already. Her parents ran outside after her and dragged her back into the house, her mother sitting her down on the couch while her father peered out the window. Nothing was explained that night but a very loud argument she overheard her parents later that night. Of course nothing that eight year old Selene could understand, but she knew something her life had changed when a month later they had moved to a more rural town, quiet, somewhat serene. Months had passed and she had long forgotten about what happened that night. Her parents had her busy with studying and teaching for her to even be able to remember anything; isolating her from the outside world from that point on. Only learning whatever her parents had given her. Selene never questioned it, she had a love for reading and learning. Though late at night, when her parents had long fallen asleep, Selene would sneak into their study and try to find anything about the world outside besides her own house. Sadly, never finding anything.
First Instance of Magic: Selene's first instance of magic was when she just turned six years old. She was out in the garden when she heard the chirping of a baby bird that had fallen out its nest, the mother nowhere to be found. Selene felt sad for the bird and picked it up carefully. She knew she couldn't reach up that high, and she started to cry. She wiped her eyes with her hands but soon remembered that the bird was in her hands. When she went to look, the bird was suspended in the air. In a blink, the baby bird was lifted up high into the tree and back into the nest. Selene stared dumbfounded up at the nest, confused but happy. Thankfully her father had just come home and witnessed everything. Overfilled with joy, he ran over and picked her up, hugging her tightly. Soon the mother came home and they celebrated till nightfall.
