He never stood out of a crowd in all his life, whether it be with his untamed dark hair that he never bothered to brush often, or his dark eyes which rest on a fine line between brown and black. He was just an average boy, unaware of the innate magic he possessed
Azhar was known in his residential care home to be closed off.

I've done minimal research on this and I just wanted to add as a note that no, Azhar is not in an orphanage but is under the government issued foster care provided by local authorities, apparently in Scotland, local residential care homes are provided by said authorities to parentless children, iirc.
He rarely showed anyone at the care home even a drop of emotion, as he learned when he was younger and gullible that sharing too much often led him to being picked on behind his back. He is also well known to be a bit controlling at times, especially during group activities, often wanting to be the leader as he used to think that he was simply better. Although, he has since grown out of that belief, yet still craves for a slither of control when necessary, such as taking care of the chores. It has also been observed by his caretakers that he is quick to adapt and is skilled in working with limited resources and materials when it comes to school. With that, he can be pretty arrogant.
He almost never knew who his parents were, only having vague memory of the two from when he was 4. Gaultier Zephyrbane (Father, non-magical), had given him up to their local residential care home for children as he could not bear to raise a kid that would inevitably grow up to be like his mother, Dahlia Hill (witch), who had divorced him because of his financial instability.
At the age of 7, he had unintentionally started a small fire in the backyard of his old residential care home, due to a tantrum of which was caused by endless teasing from the other, older children as he was more soft-spoken and petite compared to the other boys in the care home. No one knew about it however, he had stumped on the fire until it vanished, and kicked the leaves in order to hide the evidences or traces of 'bad behavior' as how they would call it. Although what he didn't know was that his mother had been keeping an eye on him throughout the years ever since he was given up to the care system, she had caught sight of his action and had decided to visit him a few days after his first instance of magic.

had eventually decided to take him back under her wing and do what she can to prepare him for HogwartsDahlia never disclosed the fact that she was his mother (until at least when he's older) as she didn't want to possibly hurt his feelings or confuse him further at the time when he was 7
He is still a mystery to those around him, even to himself. Hogwarts is also still a mystery to him. He has yet to learn who he truly is and who his parents were, but for now he tries to take it all in and focus on his now magical studies, without being too excited.
