Meredith has long auburn hair with slightly tangled waves that frames her small face. Her features are soft, though her eyes are strikingly emerald, just like her mother's. She has a thin figure and an ivory skin tone. Her oval face is adorned with freckles.

She is a strong-willed girl who faces her hardships head-on. Although it takes a long time for her to trust people and open up about herself.

Growing up without a father figure in her life, Meredith needed to be strong. Seeing her mother face constant scrutiny for being a single mother because of her absent father, she was determined to stand up for her mother. At the age of seven, she began taking on housework for other families in order to provide food to their table.

Her first instance of underage magic happened when she was eight years old. As she was scrubbing the clothes clean, a group of kids stopped their tracks and sneered at the sight of her. Meredith rarely paid attention to their antics, but then, one of the boys threw a bucket of old laundry water on her, and they all laughed. She was enraged. She hadn't felt this way before. She closed her eyes and she clenched her hands as her eyebrows furrowed. Suddenly, a scream was heard, and when she opened her eyes, the kid who threw a bucket on her was already floating in the air, crying.
