FULL NAME. Adelaide Cassia Avery-Jones NAME EXPLANATION. Adelaide is an Avery by blood, but a Jones legally. That is the reason why anyone other than her family will know her by "Jones" and not "Avery". NICKNAME(S). Addy | Cass | Cassie SEXUALITY. bisexual AGE. 11 BIRTHDAY. 27 November, 2013 PRONOUNS. she / her NATIONALITY. British / Irish |

| PERSONALITY. Adelaide is a contradiction — deeply emotional and protective at her core, yet she was shaped into someone controlled, composed, and distant. She isn't cold by nature; she simply had learned that warmth is dangerous. To keep herself steady, Addy clings to structure. Her routines need to be precise, intentional, and necessary — disruptions don't only just irritate her, they unsettle her. People who are unpredictable and loud, they represent everything she cannot control. Although, Adelaide feels more than she ever shows. Emotion is contained in small tells — a tightened jaw, a sharper tone, a narrowing of eyes — only breaking through when she's pushed too far. Her loyalty is quiet but absolute; if she considers someone hers — no matter if acquaintance, or close companion — she will protect them without hesitation. Especially her family. Betrayal, however, is unforgivable. Highly perceptive, Addy reads people wiht ease. Yet this often comes at the cost of constant overanalysis. To escape it, she retreats into her own mind — daydreaming, humming or even singling softly to herself, half-present more often than she should be. Everything she does is driven by one fear: losing her loved ones. It feels inevitable, and so she prepares — always. She keps most people at a distance, trusting very few. But when she does care, it shows quietly — in presence, in protection, in the small, deliberate ways she allows herself to reach out. |

BOGGART. Reducio Her family, lifeless victims of a war. She is painfully aware of their vulnerability: a “blood traitor” mother, squib siblings, and a Muggle stepfather. She doesn’t fear this outcome. Rather, she has accepted it with a dull sense of expectation. That certainty makes it all the more terrifying. |

FIRST INSTANCES OF ACCIDENTAL MAGIC. Reducio Adelaide Cassia Avery's first instance of accidental magic never came from childlike curiosity or wonder. But rather, it came from anger. She was six at the time: still so young, but already being trained to become the perfect pureblood lady. A tradition in most pureblood households. The lesson dragged on longer than usual, her governess correcting every minor mistake with sharp words and even sharper punishments. Adelaide had already been kneeling for what felt like hours. Her small hands trembled from exertion, her back forced painfully straight. She wasn't allowed to cry, allowed to move, nor was she allowed to fail. But she did, like any child would with such pressure place upon them. A mispronounced word. A flick of the wrist that wasn't precise enough. It was always followed by punishment. Something in her had snapped that day. That reaction built up over the years, slowly. A tightness in her chest, burning and suffocating her. Anger at the governess, at her father, at the room, at expectations pressing down on her from every direction. Expectations fit for a grown lady, not a kid. And beneath it all, a desperate, childish thought was screaming louder and louder: Go away! And her magic finally responded. It burst out of her in a violent, uncontrolled wave. The windows behind her governess shattered instantly, glass exploding inward as if struck from the outside. The force of it knocked furniture aside, caused papers to scatter and ink to spill across the floor. Her governess, standing closest to the windows, was caught in it. Glass shards rained down around her, cutting into skin and fabric as she staggered back in shock. She hadn't seen the reaction coming, hadn't been able to lift her wand quick enough. Then came the silence. Adelaide had stood frozen, her breathing uneven and hands still trembling, tears gathering in her eyes. But the anger disappeared with the explosion of the windows, replaced by an icy coldness. Terror filling her veins. Punishment came first like it always did. She was reprimanded harshly for her loss of control. "Magic," she was told, "is never to be ruled by emotion. She must become better. She must be perfect." Only later, did the tone shift. Her father was... impressed. Reluctantly so. It wasn't because of her disobedience, but by the magical power behind it. That day, Adelaide learned two things: 1. Her magic was strong when uncontrolled. 2. And her emotions were dangerous. |

BACKSTORY. Reducio Adelaide Cassia Jones — born Avery — was raised in a world that demanded perfection and punished anything less. Her earliest years were spent at the Avery estate under the watchful, unyielding eye of her father, Patrick Avery. A man of strict pureblood beliefs, who valued legacy above love, control above comfort. Adelaide as his magical daughter, was expected to reflect that legacy flawlessly. She wasn't raised like any other child. Rather she was refined to become the future Lady of House Avery. The Avery estate itself was situated in Ireland, Kilkenny near the River Nore. A blandly decorated property with barely any color to make it seem alive with occupants. A governess oversaw her upbringing with cold precision. Posture, etiquette, magical discipline. Every aspect of Adelaide's existence was corrected, shaped, and, when necessary, punished into compliance. Mistakes were met with pain and a show of emotion was treated as weakness. So she learned to be still. Controlled, observant, perfect. Her mother, Silvia Avery, saw what this life was doing to her daughter. It had been normal for pureblood families. Completely and utterly normal. Every pureblood family knew that this is how you have your children raised into perfect heirs. But something changed for Silvia early in Adelaide’s life. One day, Silvia came back after a weekend out. And there was a glow to her that hadn’t been around her before. She changed after that weekend, truly becoming a part of Adelaide’s day to day life. Becoming a mother to her daughter. Silvia had been meeting a man behind her husband’s back. A man, who was supposed to be a simple one-night stand, but turned into two and then more. He showed her what love and family was truly supposed to mean. And it made Silvia realise that life in the Avery estate wasn’t something she wanted for herself or her daughter anymore. So when Adelaide turned 8, Silvia made a choice that would define all of their lives: She fled. She left the pureblood world behind entirely, taking Adelaide with her and disappearing into Muggle London. Joining her affair and starting her life anew as a hidden witch, prancing around as a muggle lady. Adelaide’s biological father, Patrick Avery, never followed. Not because he couldn't, but simply because he wouldn't. To search for them in the Muggle world would mean lowering himself to it and the Muggles within. In his mind, Silvia had already ceased to exist. Adelaide, by extension, became something... lost. Something not worth reclaiming. And just like that, they were free. Freedom, however, didn't come easily. Adelaide had been shaped by years of control. Even after escaping, she kept carrying that structure within her. She stood too straight, spoke too carefully and watched everything with a distrustful eye. Her new stepfather, Erick Jones, came was something completely new. He offered her mother and her patience instead of expectation and kindness without condition. He loved both of them with a fierce but gentle cadence. At first, Adelaide didn't trust it. Didn't trust that feeling of safety. But then, slowly... she did. And with him came her first nickname: Addy. After her mother's and step-father's marriage, her new last name became official. Adelaide is now truly Addy Jones. The last traces of Avery are legally removed and no longer tainting her day to day life. Adelaide Cassia Jones is not the girl her father tried to create, but she isn't entirely free of him either. She is control and care, restraint and emotion, discipline and quiet longing. All existing at once. Everything she does is built on one unshakable truth: Her loved ones come first. And if the world ever forces her to choose between who she is and what she must become to protect them? She already knows what her answer will be. |

CURRENT RESIDENCY. Reducio Adelaide, Silvia and Erick Jones live in Muggle London. A quaint little house at the outskirts of it. Why, you may ask? Well, Erick is a Muggle himself. No magic to his name, but the magic of being human. So Silvia decided not to let him know of their own true identities. It was hard at first for Adelaide, to live in a house where no magic was allowed, where you didn't have house elves tending to your needs. Where life had to work the Muggle way. But after half a year of having to live like that, it became a new comfortable routine for both Silvia and Addy. The house is made up of two floors and a cellar. The first floor held the entrance hall, a living room and conjoined kitchen, as well as a storage room and guest bathroom. The second floor could be reached by the stairs in the entrance hall, leading to a master bedroom, another bathroom, a work office, a guest bedroom and Addy's bedroom. The basement though, had to be reached from outside in the garden. A door and stairs outside lead downwards to the basement where they had three separate storage rooms and a wash room. |
