Elise is shy with people she doesn't know, but with friends and people she knows, she is very outgoing. She takes her schoolwork seriously and does homework right after school. Elise is also very good at sensing when someone's upset or anxious and is a calming influence.

Prior to Hogwarts, Elise was the eldest of eight children. Her youngest sister, Genevieve, was ten; her brother, Elias, was nine; and Chris was eight; she had another brother, Noah, who was seven; Eleanor was six; and Florence was five. Additionally, the youngest of her siblings was Isla, who was two. Elise's family lived in a large mansion, where every floor of it was occupied by one of her siblings, with the exception of three rooms (the dining, kitchen, and living rooms). Elise's best friend was named Olivia, who had long, wavy red hair and teal eyes. Elise's family had traditionally been known for their extreme light blonde hair and icy blue eyes. Elise's father was the CEO of an international company, while her mother worked as a surgeon.

When Elise was eight years old, she had her very first experience with magic. It occurred when Elise was playing in her yard by balancing herself on a low garden wall, and she slipped. For a brief moment, she felt like she was falling. However, before she went down, she felt something gently stop her from falling. She hovered in the air for almost a full heartbeat before walking safely back onto the low wall.
