Physical Description: Violette is a slender girl of average height. She has naturally blonde hair and big, blue eyes, with long eyelashes. On a typical day, she has her hair styled using traditional curlers and wears light make-up like lip gloss, mascara and brow gel. She also wears one pair of earrings. As for her clothes, they can typically be described as girly / feminine in color, yet trendy and classy in style. She likes to wear light or pastel colors, pink being her favourite.
Mental Description: Delusional is the one way to describe Violette. In her mind, she's popular, kind and helpful, but also cocky and confident, at least pretends to be. She has a few friends, but those who are her friend are mostly close to her thanks to her 'popularity'. In truth, she's a mean girl. She thinks she's being kind, telling someone they wore the same sweater two days in a row, when in fact people weren't asking her anything. People do look up to her thanks to her 'perfect' outwards appearance and her 'lavish' lifestyle, hence the delusion that she's popular, but they typically dislike her behind her back.
Biography: Violette's childhood can be described as anything but ordinary. At the time of her birth, she was an objectively pretty baby with big, blue eyes. Like most parents, hers thought she was special. During the earlier parts of her childhood, this belief never faded, only growing stronger as time passed. This inevitably came with spoiling and pampering. As a result, Violette grew up quite bratty.
Her home life was fine. They didn't have much, but Violette quickly learned how to make do with what she got. Dinners were simple, but she didn't go to bed hungry. Her mattress was old, but at least she had a roof above her head. For a reason Violette would never understand, her parents, even being purebloods, didn't use magic to fix these issues. She didn't know this, but they were not the most gifted magic users, and were too proud to ask others for help. They seemed fine with it though, putting the time they didn't spend coddling her in their 'magic' bakery which wasn't doing well enough to truly provide for the family. The young girl herself didn't know any better at that time. In any case, the love of her family more than made up for it.
It was around the age of six when she started noticing how other families were doing. She attended a small preparatory school where she was surrounded by half- and purebloods, most of them being well off. She had difficulty making friends at first. It seemed like everyone was wearing the most trendy clothing, eating the most exquisite lunches and playing with the most expensive toys. Things Violette never had access to. Slowly but surely, she started becoming resentful towards her family. Why couldn't she have those things, live in luxury? It was simply unfair. Over the years, she grew more and more detached with her family. Not only because of their lifestyle she started disapproving of, but also because her little sister was born, who her parents now put most of their effort into.
At school, she started pretending. Her free time was spent asking around, doing odd jobs for some pocket money which was then used to keep up with her classmates, keep up appearances. It could never buy true class, but at least she had enough to create her own persona. Soon enough, she started making friends. She spent the little money she had dressing prettily, buying products to style her hair, buying lip glosses in a bunch of different colors, and she even started wearing cheap perfume. Her classmates fell for the act, even her friends, who she still wasn't very close with. Nobody remembered where she started, and nobody knew her big secret.
At the age of 10, her popularity peaked. Her perfectly styled blonde hair and her striking blue eyes, as well as her feminine style were well liked by her classmates. Her outfits were often used as inspiration by others, and Violette knew it. She felt like the star of the show, even if it was mostly pretend. Inevitably, she also made some enemies. Other girls were often jealous of her, at least, that's how it came across. Even her little sister didn't like the person she pretended to be. She supposed that came with popularity.
In her free time, when Violette wasn't at school or doing odd jobs, she liked to read. She was quite a studious person behind the scenes. At a young age, she also learned how to cook. Her family preferred fatty unhealthy foods, which certainly didn't fit into her new lifestyle, so she often cooked for herself. She also adopted a beautiful stray cat whom she named Bijou who she spends a lot of time with, and often brought her with her when visiting her friend's homes. When it comes to her family, she usually ignored them. She had a falling out with her parents over her preferred lifestyle, and she didn't even get along well with her sister. Violette wasn't at home a lot, preferring to stay over at other people's homes. Her parents were generally aware of where she was, as she made it a habit to stay over with her friends. Even when she was home, she mostly kept to herself.
At eleven, she was thrilled to go to Beauxbatons, happy to leave behind her life of poverty for most of the year. She expected to see many girls like her: pretty, lavish and confident. Still, she also feared her competition, not that it mattered. She would be to most popular girl there. She would make sure of it.
First Instance of Magic: Her first instance of magic occurred at the age of 8. It happened quite randomly, in the middle of class. She was called on to read a paragraph in a book out loud when she suddenly felt the urge to sneeze. Not wanting to embarrass herself like that, she tried to hold it in, but alas. The sneeze came anyway. Surprisingly, when she opened her eyes, she noticed some bubbles had come out of her nose. Her classmates didn't seem surprised, after all, they all grew up in a magical household themselves. Still, Violette felt like she was glowing. Finally, proof that she was not a squib.
