Physical Description: Rubie is a young girl who is petite and lithe. She is not athletic. But she has a small appetite, which results in her small frame. She has bright blue eyes and dirty blonde hair, with a birthmark below her nose. She dresses in casual, but comfortable clothes that are generally either pastels or darker shades, with little variance in between, depending on her mood.

Mental Description: Although Rubie is curious and intellectual, she is also tenacious and stubborn, which means she can potentially refuse to see eye-to-eye on certain matters and is strong-headed in certain principles or beliefs. She is more reserved, which means she is not quick to open up to others and does not share her opinions easily, no matter how strongly she holds them.

Biography: Pre-Hogwarts, Rubie and her family were not the type to encourage wearing emotions on one's sleeve. But this is not to be mistaken with cool affectivity or emotional neglect. They believe in practicing self-soothing, self-regulation, and exercising discipline over their emotions. So, Rubie's life with them has been profound in other ways, including when she received her Hogwarts letter. Still, she was rather timid until she met a few friends, and she keeps these close associations to this day. With the support of her family and friends, she matured to realize there is more value and strength in bonds with friends rather than taking stock of strangers and their opinions. Her birthday occurred on March 19, 2013.

First Instance of Magic: At seven years of age in her Haslemere home, Rubie was considered a 'late bloomer' for her signs of accidental magic that would have registered her officially as a witch. Her mother was initially shocked, but her father was elated when Rubie demonstrated her first signs of magic. They had given her a stuffed blue animal, which she came to associate with sadness, given its color. After her friendship ended in the summer, the event upset her, and she was inconsolable. Her parents attempted to mollify her.

Nothing was working until her father handed her her favorite stuffed animal. Before any of them could register what happened or comprehend why, especially Rubie herself, the stuffed animal came to life, with its ears spouting smoke and its snout tweaking. Rubie was so distracted by the animated life of her stuffed toy that she forgot about her momentary sadness and found a new friend to occupy her time - even if it was only for a short time. Initially, she thought it was a sign of the universe aligning, especially for her, to bless her with a friend where she lost one.

But her parents sat her down and explained that she was a witch, much to her amazement and elation. They also told her about Hogwarts and already lived in the magical area, but the pride in her parents' faces served as a reinforcement. And so, she cherishes this as a deeply significant and happy memory that validated her bond with her family, yes, but it was also a defining moment that she was, in fact, a witch in the making.
