Physical Description:
Scarlet is a 4'4'', fairly skinny, athletic eleven-year old girl. Her name, Scarlet, came from the fact that she was born with the reddest cheeks her parents had ever seen. While it has calmed down now that she is older, the "scarlet" cheeks come out when she gets very angry or embarrassed. She has bland brown eyes, but her smooth, fair complexion makes up for them. She is a brunette and has naturally wavy hair. Her favorite feature is her one dimple that comes out when she is truly happy.
Mental Description:
Scarlet is either at school, outside playing with her older brother, or inside, cuddled up with a great book. She hasn't always had the best luck with making friends, so she has stopped trying. People tend to walk all over her, so being by herself makes her feel safe. She is what one would call a "homebody" and loves her hobbies. Some include puzzling, reading, coloring, and writing.
Biography:
Scarlet comes from a standard-sized family of four. Her parents had adopted both her and her brother when she was a baby. While they are a bit older than most other parents, they are gentle, supportive, and incredibly kind people. She wouldn't want it any other way!
Scarlet's older brother can be a bit of a rambunctious person and a bit impulsive. They may be opposites, but when they are together, they bring out the best in each other. Unfortunately, her brother went off to college earlier, so she has been feeling a bit lonely.
First Instance of Magic:
Scarlet's first instance of magic was when she was seven years old. She had been invited to a classmate's birthday party and was super excited! It took her a whole two hours to get all ready, and she had even found the perfect gift for them. Within minutes of arriving at the party, Scarlet realized that no one actually cared if she was there or not. The birthday girl also had failed to inform her that it was a pool party, so Scarlet felt embarrassed being the only person not in a bathing suit. For about thirty minutes, Scarlet just blended in with the wall as she watched everyone laughing and enjoying themselves. She eventually entered the house and headed for the bathroom. She felt so upset that before she could even close the door, tears had begun to roll down her cheeks. As she cried and sank to the floor, she felt her sadness become very intense. How could she be so stupid and believe that she was wanted here? Within seconds, she heard a sound at the window. Drip, drip, drip. Scarlet looked up and noticed that it had started to rain outside. She could hear the screams of the kids as they ran inside, escaping the storm. It only lasted a couple of minutes, but that was all Scarlet needed to compose herself and get up. She left the bathroom and snuck out of the house before anyone could see her. Scarlet didn't want to spend another moment in a place where she felt unwanted. As she walked out the door and down the driveway, she noticed that beyond the house's sidewalk, there was no indication that it had rained. She spun around to see that everything about the house screamed that there had been a rainstorm just minutes ago, but when looking across the street, everything was dry. "Weird", was all Scarlet thought as she walked away, already thinking about how happy she would be curled up in her favorite blanket while starting a new book.
